I attended a friend of a friend's birthday here. I liked the food, the workers were attentive,they always refilled your pitcher if it ran out of water or soda. The dj was kinda wack (he played the Macarena). This place is humongous,high ceiling,bathroom in the basement and valet parking. We celebrated my daughter's first birthday this past weekend at Bay Ridge Manor and they did not disappoint! We wanted to have her party in a place with enough room for entertainment and didn't want to spend a fortune on the food alone because I wanted room in the budget for decorations, stationary, cake etc...From all the administrative people we worked with to the waiters on the day of, everyone was professional and did their best to accommodate any requests we had. I recently attended a Sweet 16 at this venue and my overall experience was very good. The food selection was excellent and the hall itself was set up beautifully. The waitresses were very helpful especially Christina, I believe her name was, she went above and beyond. The maitre d' Tracy was awesome and made sure the birthday girl was always attended to which made her day even more special. I would definitely recommend this venue! read more

I just had my sons Christening at the Bay Ridge Manor this past weekend and it turned out perfect!!! My experience with Erin, the event planner, was nothing but great. She was accommodating, helpful and very professional. She gave many great suggestions for different vendors, food and even set up. On the day of the event we walked into the venue and it looked stunning!! Tracy, who was the head waitress, greeted us immediately and tended to us all night. Anything we needed she got. The food was also delicious! I come from a very Italian family who can be hard to please when it comes to food and they had nothing but great things to say. Just came back from a retirement party in the downstairs room. Very easy to get to, by public transportation. Enjoyed everything I ate: rigatoni in pleasing tomato/ basil sauce; garden salad with vinagrette dressing; chicken francese with baby carrots, broccoli and red skin potatoes, cookies, coffee, house table wine. Room laid out very nicely. Service thoughtful and attentive. Recorded music not overwhelming to conversation. Refreshing melon and fruit and cheese for nibbling upon arrival. Terrible costumer services. I booked a party here for my daughters sweet sixteen and unfortunately had to cancel due to COVID. They were given more than enough notice to give back my deposit. I also paid thousands of dollars towards my final balance in advance. I reached out about my refund numerous times and always got the run around from them. Most of what they told me were lies ( For example they can't refund me until their book keeper returns but when I called under a different name they were willing to take a down payment to hold a new date) Sadly I would have booked a party with them again but not after this. Thank god I got back some of my money because of my credit card company. However they refused to give me back my deposit. I would never do business with these people again. The other venues and services booked for this event gave me back my deposits and down payments with no problems. read more

Recently had a party at this venue after it's new renovation. I must say it is gorgeous! The main lobby and party room are almost unrecognizable! Tracy the maître d was so helpful with the planning and preparation. It was such a relief to have help from someone who is a pro at this sort of thing. This place initially seemed great when I called to reserve the space. They asked for a $500 deposit to reserve the date I wanted about 5 months away and told me it was refundable up until 60 days before the event. A few days later I called and told them the event had been cancelled and asked for the deposit back. They said fine. Nothing happened. A few weeks later I followed up and they told me they would send me a check. When I finally got my "refund" it was only $400. I have made numerous requests for a full refund and gotten no response. I do not recommend doing business with these people. read more

I recently had my Mother's 75th birthday celebration there. It was great the staff was very helpful and the food was a fresh as could be and delish i might add. I had a large party in the main dining hall. Ive been there before when they had the mirrors in the hall I like it with the mirrors better but they coordinated the party beautifully. My family could not stop raving about its decor or the delishious food and athough we had mostly adults the grandchildren and greatgrands were treated to their favorites of chicken tenders and frenchfries which I did not have on the menu but was pleasently suprised and gratefull it was there. We made a reservation for this venue last year for our wedding. It has great sales people, but when it is time to deliver you don't get what you are promised. We had a tasting day for what was going to be served, which was a good thing, food was delicious. For our wedding the whole manor was made available, at least initially, given that we were going to have our ceremony there, too. The basement for the ceremony and cocktail hour, the main floor for the reception and the second floor to be used as a bridal suite. The place itself is elegant, makes a good first impression. Assurances of how everything is going to be fine is abundant, they make it seem as if we are, to the point that we think that we are, stressing too much over something that they are going to handle just fine because after all they are in this business day in and day out, but no! It may be that same monotony of being in this day in and day out that makes them think we are just one more customer and that there is no reason to excel in customer service on the big day, after all, after the wedding when would we come back to use their services again? Hopefully they realize that even though we may not return to use their services again now we can at least warn other people about them, about their service and practice, and demand and be more strict with what they get when going with this venue. So.... You get to choose your theme colors. You are shown a variety of colors they offer. My wife was happy that they had the color she wanted only to be told 4 days before the wedding we could not get the napkins we wanted and which was the theme color for our wedding, and as always, like I said before, assurances of how everything was going to be ok were abundant. BAD manor, bad, bad, bad! You get valet parking, please don't forget to tell your guests about this nice and very convenient feature, big PLUS. You get an open bar. Very poorly handled and stocked, nevertheless I was told it was top shelf. I guess I must have understood or they must have meant "whatever they have on the top shelf of the closet where they stash the rolling bar when not in use". When my guests came asking, or I for that matter, for a given drink, were normally just turned away because they did not have it or had to choose whatever they had. Lesson to learn? Make sure they tell you specifically how their bar is going to be stocked and hold them accountable, or bring your own and ask for a discount, even on the soda, you'll understand why in the next sentence.Soda was flat, yuk! Or at least it is not Coca-Cola as they want to make you believe, I went to get a drink on my kid's glass, thinking that the ice had flattened its taste but no, it was the soda that had that distinctive disgusting taste. And manor, please do something with that soda machine since I realize I am not the only one complaining about it but have seen other reviews with the same complaints! For about 120 guests you get 4 servers (that's what was said, did not check). Service was bad. After my order was taken and besides them bring the orders out no servers were visible on the floor tending to the tables' needs. I had to go and find the maître D after waiting for someone to send my plate back because my steak was still mooing even though I had asked for it to be well done. Coordination and leadership was very much lacking throughout the night. The worst? Lack of communication among its employees and pulling a fast one and once again an assurance that everything was going to be fine. I was supposed to have my cocktail hour at the same place where I had my ceremony. If it was not because my wife called the night prior to change the number of guests she would not have found out that they were going to move us out of the ceremony right after and bring us to the reception. For the cocktail hour. This caused great confusion and nobody knew what was happening, not even I. If it would not have been for one of the guests that approached me and asked me when were they going to be served? Why weren't they (the manor, it's employees, the maitre d) making sure that guests knew this was the cocktail hour and could help themselves to the stations? I had never experience something like this. This would be the one thing that left the manor with no stars but I'm not that bad. Then while my bridal party was awaiting for the reception at the suite, THEY WERE HUNGRY, and I convinced they would come to take care of us, waited, and waited and waited until I finally had to go find the maître D, and tell her to please bring food upstairs for my bridal party, and only then were we taken care of. Personally, just because of the service I would not come back to this place. Not a great experience at all, not like they painted it at least. read more

Disappointing overall We had a small wedding reception/lunch at the Bay Ridge Manor in April. The location is very nice and the staff friendly but we did not get the service expected. This was supposed to be a simple and easy to execute reception, we needed a specific white and red wine and passed around canapes. Those were our requirements. Sadly the requested red wine (a Pinot Noir from New Zealand) was not available when we arrived and was replaced by a Pinot Noir from Oregon. The requested wine was delivered to the Bay Ridge Manor shortly before 3pm...when our party ended! In the meantime the staff did managed to get a few bottles of an older vintage from a local wine store but that was far from being enough for the whole party. Another issue was on the food: we had only 1 server to do the pass around of 8 different canapes for 35 people! So slow service and request not met made for a disappointing overall lunch. read more

We had our Daughter's First Wedding Anniversary Party at the "Manor". First Jackie and Amanda were very helpful during the planning stages. The Party was an absolute hit!! Tracy was the Maitre'D that evening and made sure everything ran smoothly. I was a little worried about the food since they don't have tastings. The food was great. The carving station was excellent, the turkey moist, the macaroni dishes were great. Really I have no complaints and people were eating everything, and there was plenty of it. The room looked beautiful and the dance floor was large enough. We had about 100 people in the upstairs ballroom and we were not crowded. Our crew danced all night, shout out to Boris our D.J. We had so much fun and many of us are smokers and there were benches outside where we could sit. The Staff was great, especially Bobby one of the Servers, he actually led some of the dances and everyone was on the floor. After the event several of our Friends and Family commented on how great and how much fun he was. A couple negatives, the air conditioner wasn't set high enough and this was one of the hottest days in the summer, Tracy quickly turned it down but it didn't get cool until the middle of the party. I think it wasn't turned on early enough. The other negative was our Bartender. She kept leaving the bar unattended and we had a huge line at any given time. Her tip jar was overflowing so she really should have been more accommodating, she actually chastised my Husband because he poured himself a drink, if she had been there it wouldn't have happened. What we probably should have done is ask for two bartenders, which we will probably do next time. All in all it was a great experience and the main thing was that My Daughter and Her Husband and ALL our Guests had a FABULOUS time!! BayRidge Manor Rocks!! read more

I have been to several affairs here in recent years and then we had my daughters sweet sixteen last weekend. I was obviously impressed with The Bay Ridge Manor from my prior experiences which prompted me to book my function with them. Everything was fantastic. The people in the office were so helpful and accomodating. It was like we had a personal party planner included with our affair. The staff was so kind, the service was great, and my guests had many compliments on the food. The Fried Calamari was particularly fantastic. I had my 50th birthday party on september 8th 2012 at Bay Ridge Manor. Before the party I met with Jackie and dicussed with her what I wanted. I wanted special spacing of the tables because I had a live band and a D.J. When I walked into the room the night of the party everything was beautiful just as I imagined it would be. Tracy was the Maitre d for the night, she was working 2 parties that night. Tracy checked with me several times during my party to ask if I needed anyting. Betty was bartending she was professsional and gracious, she also would ask me several times during my party if I needed anything. The drinks were delicious, one of my drinks of choice was an Apple Martini, it was perfect. The Hors D'oeuvers during the cocktail hour were delicious and plentiful.The food was delicious, my favorite was the the penne pasta with shrimp & scallop. I took some food home with me. The cake was delicious, I took a large piece home also. I did not use the valet service, I arrived early with the band we found parking ourselves. Some of my guests told me they waited too long for valet service. Overall I was very satified with how my 50th birthday party turned out. Thank you for making my special day a success. I went to a Sweet 16 party here in the fall of 2012 and found the experience to be average at best. The food was average. Some of the pass around food was different and unusual but some of the buffet was cold and the food was plain. The service was less than helpful and the bathroom was dirty. The Bay Ridge Manor is fantastic. The owner and employees went out of their way to make our company event a success. They are extremely accommodating and really cater to their customers needs. We now have our event there every year. For our first event we had more people than they could accommodate and they went out their way to make it work for us. So now we have decided to split our group into two (we have over 300 people) into 2 two day events and now we have it at the Bay Ridge Manor every year. I supplied a seating setup and they set up exactly as I had it. The food is good, service is excellent, could not have been better. We recently had our second event in May and it was a huge success. So when I decided to throw her a surprise 60th birthday party, I chose the Bay Ridge Manor and the event went off perfectly! When she arrived under false pretenses, the host was waiting in the lobby and opened the doors for the big SURPRISE! The experienced and capable staff was smiling and friendly, and helpful with every element of the event. I had asked for a menu of passed hors d'oeuvres from start to finish and could not have been happier with the food and presentation. It was delicious and plentiful! The chef outdid our expectations! is there such thing as negative 5 plus stars? valet parking tonight saturday, september 8, 2012 was damn near non existing!! we spent the whole cocktail hour circling around looking for a spot because the valet said "he was the only one on duty and it would be our best bet".really?? with 2 functions going on? we were in the lower room and had guests from the upstairs party coming in our room looking for the bathrooms??? really? the banquet manager assigned to our party tracy was "missing in action" most of the night. then when she was present she was busy talking to the bartender who was supposed to be serving drinks!! ms tracy, did not make sure food service was on time or served in a proper professional manner. she also moves the cake to the center of the dance floor for the cake cutting without a candle, knife , or plate. now the food itself was absolute disgusting: salad which tasted stale and was left uncover in a refridgerator. mushy tasteless baked ziti, some kind of penne with shrimp in a cream vodka sauce(tasted like kraft macaroni with white cheese and tossed topped with raw vodka, some chewy pepper steak(servers said it was sauge peppers and onions), some dry a** chicken topped with canned diced tomatoes and parsley, some rice a roni, some fish that smelt unedible, the turkey breast was so dry and beef was way overdone(you could not cut it or chew it), rolls which tasted freezer burned and hard as hockey pucks. coffee service with cake was according to the one server who was visible after dinner service. cake was sliced so thin(it was a nice size cake) and served to certain tables and we had to ask for cake. yes, they do water down the drinks and soda by 30-40 percent!!! food was a negative 10plus service was even worse from valet to banquet manager to bartender to wait staff negative 20. and let"s not mention the bartender was also a food server and table bus person. anyone who would even consider having an affair at the bay ridge manor after reading this review is out of the freaking mind!!!! take your hard earned money and business else where where they treat you and your affair as if it were there own! i was a guest and i had to hunt the staff down for the simpliest of things!!! bay ridge manor should totally be ashamed of themselves because i had friends attending the party upstairs and they said the food and service up there was not any better!!! read more

I just had my Baby Shower here and was not happy with the service. I shouldn't have to tell the wait staff how and when to do their job. I was also disappointed with how the tables were set up. I think they were under staff and took forever for the food to come out and the coffee/tea never came out with the dessert. I'm truly embarrassed and will never come here again. Extra chairs were hidden in the bathroom. I had to go all the way down stairs to use the bathroom that was being used by another party. The air conditioner didn't seem to be on high enough. The only beverages on the table was water and soda. I had to request for cranberry juice and had to constantly request for items to be replenished like bread on the table. This experience makes me not want to throw another party again. If you're on a budget I guess this place is good. I was disappointed for the amount of money I spent; i deserved better accommodations. I apologize if I sound harsh, but I had better service else where. I guess convenience of location doesn't matter and next time I will choose a venue thats further away to get better service. read more

What can I say about the Bay Ridge Manor??? First of all, I planned my entire event from 950 miles away. Erin, the banquet manager, and her team were nothing less than AMAZING. They were very considerate of what I wanted and my desires for my event. They made everything work and did everything I asked without a problem. During the actual event, Tracey was THE BEST! She made sure that everything was seamless and smooth, and if it ever appeared to veer left, she was ON IT! Lol. Several of my guests made the joke that "everyone needs a Tracey in their lives!" This whole team was amazing. The value of what you get is no comparison to the cost! This venue is extremely cost-friendly and they really make magic happen. I could not believe how amazing everything was! The food from what I heard was amazing as well. Tracey brought my husband and I our food but in natural fashion we were too busy to eat. Lol. If I ever have another event in NY, BRM will forever be my venue of choice. My guests loved everything. Everything was just as I wanted and dreamed for it to be.
