When the new one arrived I had to find someone to take down the old one, put up the new one and pack the old one to send it back to the manufacturer. Two guys came out to install a lighted fan on my 16-foot ceiling. In addition to the quoted install fee I was charged an extra $200 for them to replace a metal J-box that only took them 5 minutes to install. I felt slighted and overcharged. I spoke with the salesperson at lamps plus who referred them to me and he agreed that the price to install the j-box was unreasonable. However, they did do excellent work. The previous fan wobbled and although the new one spins much faster it has no wobble. Had they given us a fair price on installing the j-box they would have gotten a five star review. read more

We needed two ceiling lamps installed for 20 ft high ceilings. Bay Lighting gave us the best estimate at a very reasonable price. They were easy to get in touch with to set up the appointment. Our installer, Andreh, arrived as scheduled and installed both lamps. He was careful not to damage our home, furniture, etc. while moving in his tools and ladders. Installation took several hours, and he asked us for our input several times regarding how to orient the lamps or to ensure we agreed the ceiling plate was lined up properly. This company was the contractor for a Lowe's ceiling fan installation. The two installers came out. Started to tell me that they can only install with a down rod not a flush mount. We have installed 3 ceiling fans on our own and knew that was not the case. Begrudgingly they did the flush mount. It was not until after they departed we noticed they did not have the light on the ceiling fan triggered by the wall switch. I called them immediately and asked them to come back. The response was, "The fan is not set up to do that." Because we have installed ceiling fans before I knew this was not the case. Unfortunately we had to take the ceiling fan down and re-wire it ourselves. YES, IT CAN BE CONTROLLED BY THE LIGHT SWITCH ON THE WALL! I would think an electrician would know that. Very disappointed that they were more concerned with getting out of here as soon as possible and not concerned about remediating the issue at hand. Lowe's should be more concerned with who they contract their work out to. read more
