So getting makeup for the big day wasn't necessarily daunting, but I was really just looking for someone to tell me what I needed and literally pick it out for me. The ladies at Venus did exactly this without being the least bit condescending or trying to sell me anything they didn't think I needed. As I told them what I was hoping for and what I was comfortable with, they led me through picking each element and applying it on my face, right there. Not only was this a lot of fun, but they know what they're doing. Both women that worked on me--one of which was the owner--are licensed cosmetologists and their work was impeccable. These aren't just women who think makeup is fun or something--they're serious about what they do and they honestly, genuinely want you to feel beautiful. The product is amazing and, yes, very expensive. I think it's worth it though. This is top of the line stuff that I will have for a long time and love using. I would recommend Venus to anyone looking to treat themselves to something special or to look extra amazing for a special occasion. There was an exterior exhibit along the front of the building, featuring paintings by Debra Howard, and a lovely fairy garden populates the back, which really fits in with the gorgeous natural space. A small red box is also located out front - similar to a Little Free Library, but it's a cute Little Free Art Gallery! Materials were available on the back deck to make your own tiny piece of art to add to the gallery, and then you were welcome to take a piece you liked. We really enjoyed the extra touches of tiny people checking out the display. Inside is a small gallery space, which was showing a Members Create exhibit.
