Fidelity National Home Warranty - Invoice

Fidelity National Home Warranty

Fidelity came with the home I purchased and seemed to work ok for the one call that I had. I was…read morenew to the area and unfamiliar with any of the local vendors, so I thought it would be a good thing to have until I could find my way around. The people on Nextdoor for my area said they were happy with them so I renewed. Sorry I did. They are pretty bad. I pay a $75 service call (which is pretty standard for home warranties). So far, all but one of the vendors was nice and responsive. You can't choose your vendor and Fidelity has a limited number of vendors in a given area, so you can only expect 2 vendors per 'specialty'. You can easily open your own service request online and a vendor calls you within 2 days (usually 1) to set up a schedule. The call center folks are nice, but they are ESL and difficult to communicate with. You can't get through to ANYONE on a Monday. As of writing this review; the vendor (AV Hawaiin), with whom I was trying to reschedule, could not be reached for 5 hours (busy signal on phone and no vm or text). When I tried to call Fidelity to reschedule or have them contact the vendor, I was on hold for 30 minutes each of the 2x I called before I gave up. Now I have to recharge my phone and try again. I will try to cancel the policy. I know.... GLWT.

Just another dissatisfied customer here. I'm sure that for very simple swaps for truly broken…read moreappliances, these guys are fine, and having a home warranty in the initial stages of home ownership makes sense, but our experience with these guys was pretty terrible, aside from our initial request to re-key the home. We filed a service request to fix our gas range, which was not lighting on its own, but it could be manually lit with a lighter. So not a huge deal, but not working as it should be, so why not use our home warranty to fix it? The company Fidelity contracted to do the repair (AP Appliance Repair), was initially fairly prompt in scheduling someone to come out), but their guy quickly turned out to be incapable of performing the task. Over about 6 months and 8 visits to our home, he failed to get the job done. And 3 times within these 6 months I had to personally reach out to Fidelity to get them to move the needle. I don't feel like that's my job. I was very patient throughout this whole process, but after 6 months I have lost that patience. It appears that this work order will never be completed. Whatever, I'll do it myself. We recently had someone from Fidelity (Sabrina Cauldren) reach out to us about renewing our soon-to-be expiring warranty and I told here under no circumstances would we be doing that and that I would like to explain to her why. She said she would like to escalate it, and I told her that I had already f'ing attempted to escalate it 3 times with Fidelity, and every time they would call AP Appliance to push the needle and then nothing would happen for weeks or months at a time. She got really offended at that, said that there was no reason I should be cussing on the call, and hung up on me. I am free to use whatever language I want to when talking to people, and I did not directly cuss at her. And she's free to hang up on me. What I want you to walk away with after reading this review is that this company doesn't give a damn about you, and you will have to drive your own service request if you want to get anything done. Glad I didn't have to pay for the warranty in the first place and only wasted $100 on the service request. I will be informing my realtor that she should never use these guys again.

They are extremely efficient, professional and take care of all rental-related issues right away without a question. They use this really efficient and response rental portal that allows you to submit requests but someone works on the other end to follow-up. Jackelyne Ferreira was very personable and responsive. We received nearly 100% of our deposit which we were very grateful as we have a 5 year old with a heavy hand.

This is in response to Jody's reply to my review posted on September 10…read more Thank you for your response. I would like to clarify a few points for the record. Regarding the rental term, our concern is NOT that the lease contained a written six-year guarantee. Before we signed, Jody verbally represented that the landlord planned to remain overseas for approximately six years while their children attended local universities. We relied on that information in deciding to rent the property and understood it to be a stable, long-term rental. Regarding the $300 late fee, our concern was not simply whether the payment processor was down. The payment issue occurred after the management company changed its payment system, and we had a three-year history of timely rent payments. Once we became aware of the problem, we promptly hand-delivered payment to the office. We paid the $300 fee, but continue to believe tenants should not bear the cost of a payment problem arising during the management company's system transition. Regarding cleaning, we understand that tenants may choose their own cleaner. Our concern was the manner in which the company's preferred cleaner was recommended, which left us with the impression that choosing another cleaner could affect our deposit. That communication created unnecessary concern during move-out. Regarding the security deposit, our concern is not the amount of the refund or the deductions, which we understood and approved. We specifically asked for information showing the receipt and handling of the original deposit during our three-year tenancy. Management confirmed that the deposit was held in a Broker Trust account, but did not provide the transaction-specific records or ledger we requested. That is the issue we are seeking clarification about. We appreciate the company's response, but our experience and the company's characterization of events are different.

And he told us that he could manage the property for us. He told us he had a cleaning crew, wanted to do a walk through with us and then have us sign a contract. Since we were already overseas, I asked my agent to contact him and scheduled the walk-through with him. My agent drove all the way from Albany to meet him for the walk-through. He seemed nice and respectful during it. However, right after, he said he had to turn us down because he's too busy and he just signed up some new clients. If he had let us know earlier that he was too busy to take us, that would have been completely understandable. However, he did it in such unprofessional way where it just wasted my agent's time.

I used AI to review certain documents and found that both Kin and James not only answered the questions raised by AI, but provided insights above and beyond what AI could provide. In fact, Kin recommended the home I eventually bought while I was on vacation in Europe. She sent me detailed videos and explained exactly how the house matched my preferences. I trusted her judgment enough to have friends see it for me and submitted an offer without ever seeing it in person. I'm now incredibly happy with the home--it's exactly what I was looking for. As someone who knew very little about buying and maintaining a house, I also really appreciated how much James and Kin taught me throughout the process, even helping me find contractors and handymen after closing.
