Maidly

Maidly

I engaged Maidly to perform a deep cleaning, and they did a great job. I've lived in my apartment…read morefor nine years and had not done a deep cleaning since I moved in, so there was a lot of grime in some spots. But they were up to the challenge. Communication via Yelp was quick and concise, though there was something of a language barrier with the workers who arrived to do the work. Translation app solved that problem. Overall, a good value for the money; would use again!

I didn't realize this is a matching service when I contacted them. I think their business model is…read moreto hire customer service reps from abroad then match you with local small businesses. This is a problem, because: 1. Each time I emailed, a different person answered. Probably 20 emails over 1 week were arranged before I could get a quote and schedule cleaning. Because emails would usually arrive late at night or around 2-4AM, I guessed the emailers were located outside of the US. 2. Phone calls are not effective. Email info could easily have been conveyed in a 5-minute phone call, but when I called, the representative didn't know anything about scheduling. 3. A third-party cleaner comes to your house. This means there isn't consistency in quality. The cleaners complained that there was too much work and that it would take a 2-person team 4 hours to do the work (clean 1.5 bathrooms, put about less than 10 dishes in the dishwasher). One worker did dishes only during this time (at $40/hr, that's about $4/dish). The other cleaned the bathrooms. And of course they finished in less than 1 hour. 4. Communication with the third-party cleaner was poor. After all the time I spent emailing about what would be included, none of the details they asked about were conveyed. This was part of the time I paid for, because 1 worker called their supervisor to try to get out of doing the work.

DRB Cleaning

I have a home with a lot of details, plus a husband, kids, and a pet, so keeping everything clean…read morehad become quite overwhelming for me. Since I started using DRB Cleaning, my life has become so much easier. They are very responsible and always punctual, which I truly appreciate. They are also excellent with communication--always quick to respond and very kind. What stands out the most is their attention to detail; they've removed stains I honestly thought would never disappear. And whenever there has been a small issue, DRB Cleaning addresses it right away, which gives me great peace of mind. The dedication of their team really shows in every visit, and it makes me feel very grateful to have found this company. I definitely recommend them.

The team has done a decent job at cleaning my home twice per month with expediency over these last…read morefew weeks. Some things did get missed, like cleaning shower drains or dusting parts of the bathrooms. The team on site was difficult to communicate with due to language barriers, but the person I was texting with was much easier to communicate with. I'm writing to share that my son tested positive for the flu and I'm also sick, and I gave them immediate notice to reschedule our upcoming cleaning to next week. Because I let them know 23 1/2 hours before they were scheduled to arrive, they charged me a cancelation fee (which I must have agreed to when I signed the contract). I asked for a reschedule for the following week and they insisted to come as scheduled, stating they could wear masks. But the vacuuming and the cleaners talking is very loud, and would have also disturbed us, in addition to it just not being a safe environment for anyone to work in. I did pay the fee because I agreed to it, but I decided to cancel my ongoing service with this team because common sense and safety precautions should prevail, and I also found it to be a very unforgiving policy. Insisting on cleaning a house with flu patients just to avoid a schedule change isn't the kind of professional relationship I'm looking for. I'm sure they are a good choice for some, but for a recurring service, I'm looking for a team that offers the same level of grace and flexibility that I extend to them when things are missed during a clean. Updating to add that contrary to the response below, this is indeed the first time that I have made a short-notice request with this team.
