Prices aren't bad. They have helmets and bats but more baseball bats than softball.

Enter the Greensboro Batting Center, a one stop shop for all things baseball and softball. They have token-based batting cages for all speeds in baseball and softball form, traditional batting cages where someone pitches to you or you use a machine rented by the hour, as well as indoor turf fields for fielding practice and all sorts of uses. There is even a full fitness center and weight room! For me, I just wanted to hit some balls, so I bought some tokens at the front for a very reasonable charge, selected a loaner bat, and took to the cages. I started with slow softball, but worked my way up through the speeds all the way up to average baseball, which I think was about 50-60mph. I did a lot better than I thought, though people standing nearby surely got plenty of breeze. You get 20 pitches per token if I counted correct, and most pitches were properly over the plate. Enough variance that you'll need to adjust, but none ever came close to hitting me. Plenty of fans for cooling off, and vending is available if you need a drink. It looks like some local travel clubs use the facility, and possibly some schools. Anyhow, a really great facility, and i'll be back!

Good selection of bats and you're not required to wear a helmet in the cages. There's only 3 cages so it can get a bit crowded depending on when you go. The other 3 cages are used for instruction only. Best deal is 20 bucks for 12 tokens, which will get you 240 pitches. The machines are capable of throwing softballs and baseballs with speeds ranging from slow pitch to 60 for softballs and 40 to 80 for baseballs. Balls come a bit low in the zone for my liking. If they added central cooling and a few more cages, it'd easily be 5 stars.

**Parents considering Spikes Travel Baseball: Please read before signing up.**…read more I am sharing our experience after being involved with this academy for approximately three years through camps, batting cages, and the Golden Spikes program. Unfortunately, our experience with the Spikes program has become extremely disappointing. I have not seen the level of player development, communication, or family support that I expected from an academy based baseball program. One of our biggest concerns has been how an injured player is handled after being medically cleared to return to baseball. In our experience, the organization completely ignored the doctor's clearance for our child to return to full baseball activity. There was no meaningful evaluation, return to play process, or effort to help our child transition back onto the field after receiving medical clearance. Instead, we felt that our child was essentially being treated as a liability rather than being given an opportunity to return and continue developing. For the amount families pay, I expected significantly more than access to fields and uniforms. The Spikes teams are coached by parent coaches, rather than being directly coached and developed by the academy. Families are paying thousands of dollars for the program, yet we experienced very little direct support from the academy when we needed guidance. We also came away with the impression that the owner was primarily interested in collecting tuition rather than supporting players and families throughout the season. Once tuition was paid, we felt that communication and concern for our child's development declined significantly. Communication has been a major issue. Even after our tuition was fully paid, I continued to feel that our concerns were not being taken seriously. Messages and questions went unanswered or were not addressed in a meaningful way. That has been especially frustrating after being a loyal customer for three years--attending camps and purchasing batting-cage cards, including additional $100 cards for extra batting time, on top of the money spent on the Golden Spikes program. Our first season with Spikes, we saw two families leave the team during the season. Now, during our second season, our own family has reached the point where we feel we need to leave as well. This is not about expecting special treatment for our child. It is about expecting a baseball academy to communicate with families, respect medical clearance, support players through setbacks, and provide a genuine opportunity for children to develop. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. I am sharing this so other families can ask important questions before committing thousands of dollars: * Who actually coaches and develops the players? * What happens if a player gets injured? * Is there a formal return\-to\-play or evaluation process? * How does the organization respond when a doctor clears a player to return to full baseball activity? * What support does the academy provide to families? * What exactly is included in the tuition? * How accessible is academy leadership when parents have concerns? * Does the organization remain engaged with families after tuition is paid? After three years of supporting this organization, it is incredibly disappointing to feel that the program has changed so much. We wanted our child to play baseball, develop, and continue loving the game. Instead, our experience has left us feeling unheard and unsupported. **Parents deserve to know what they are paying for before making that commitment.

It is a very nice facility, having multiple batting cages at varying speeds for softball and baseball inside. They also have a large training room divided into multiple smaller areas for private coaching. They also have a very expensive outdoor area for practice as well. You don't have to have a reservation to use the batting cages. They have a machine that gives out tokens for the batting cages that is cash only. If you need to pay with a card to get coins, you need to go inside of the shop. The bathrooms are exceptionally clean. I love this place!

Very disappointing experience -- especially with management…read more We visited Celebration Station with our four children and my cousin, who has an intellectual disability. Unfortunately, the way she was treated by the manager was extremely upsetting. I understand safety rules, but the manager was rude, impatient, and showed very little understanding or compassion toward her. The worst part was when my cousin's foot became stuck getting out of the bumper boat and, while we were helping her, the manager made a comment along the lines of, "See, this is why this is a liability." That comment was completely inappropriate and very hurtful. The manager was also rude when we asked about the outdoor rides and seemed irritated by our children simply enjoying the bumper boats. We paid over $180 for six people, yet barely got to do anything before deciding to leave because of how uncomfortable the experience had become. I even sent Celebration Station a formal complaint afterward and never received a response. We came to spend the day having fun as a family and left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I would expect much better customer service and, most importantly, compassion and appropriate treatment of guests with disabilities.

We experimented with several (four!) coaches at local popular training facilities, but no one seemed to be a good fit for our girl. I randomly stumbled upon LKN Pitching while Google searching batting cages, emailed Karen, and got an immediate friendly response. It was love at first lesson. She is a top notch PRO. Easily the best instructor we have ever worked with for any of our kids. Her technical expertise is unparalleled. She is laser focused on where you're athlete is, and knows how to incrementally get them to where they need to be. She doesn't miss a thing! Very in tune with her clients needs. Extremely motivational in her approach to coaching. Uses a variety of coaching tools that provide fun, engaging, useful ways for your child to lean new techniques. Always patient.
