Eric Baxter recently removed a large bee hive from our attic. We had not noticed it for a long time because the bees were slipping in and out through a small hole in the roof. Mr. Baxter arrived at 10:30 a.m. and worked until about 6:30 p.m. Working inside, he sealed off half of our dining room with tarps on the floor and a wall of plastic sheeting. Then he cut an 18-by-18-inch hole in our ceiling. As the bees swarmed, he used a special vacuum to suck them into special cases. Then he manually removed about 150-pounds of honeycomb, placing the pieces in large plastic bins. He then took the bees back to his land to set them up in a new hive.
Surprisingly to us, the entire process was almost painless for us, though Mr. Baxter obviously had some very hard work to do. He left our home clean and tidy. And his fee was extremely reasonable. Unfortunately, he doesn't repair ceilings. So he simply taped back the square that he he had cut out. Then, he recommended a repairman who has experience with fixing ceilings after bees have removed.
He even fit in a lecture on the ecology of bees and the difference between local bees and African bees. All in all, very positive experience. We highly recommend Baxter's Bee Removal. read more
