New to the Vail area. Was looking for an upper-end salon to get my hair cut. I went in for a medium-length cut with long layers. It seemed ok when I left, but I got home & discovered the entire cut was crooked. There are chunks of my hair that are longer than others. And my stylist did a terrible job with my layers. They start and stop awkwardly. I ended up paying $50+ for the worst haircut of my life. When I called the next week to ask what could be done, I was given a lot of attitude & condescension. When I recently relocated from another state to Vail, Arizona I was desperate to find a stylist who could help repair my hair that had been (unintentionally) neglected for a few months. I called around to several stylists before connecting with Savannah at Bavilon and decided to give her first crack at my mop. And boy am I glad I did! She listened to exactly what I wanted, paid attention to the little things I told her my hair does, and what I ended up with is perfect, natural looking curly hair. Totally unsatisfied with my wife's haircut and color. How are you going to color someone's hair and tell them it's their natural color? It was not her natural color by any means. Then the hair cut was just as bad. I recommend using and not forgetting their 5 day guarantee. They kept their guarantee and cleaned up her haircut. I had a bad experience with a salon downtown (Verve) soon after coming here and decided to try this salon located in my small community of Vail. I was pleasantly surprised with the warmth of the salon owners, Moxie and my stylist. So I will start by saying I am not one to give 5 stars, I am a 4.5 type of gal even when I am thrilled with the services. Because Bertha and the owner were so flexible and nice, and the owner honored a one time discount he didn't even realize was still available, I rounded up to five as opposed to rounding down to 4.0. Must admit I was hesitate to switch salons, especially when it comes to color and highlights. Alas, I was desperate and could not fathom waiting another couple of weeks for an appointment, nor driving 40 minutes each way. Thankfully Bertha did a wonderful job with my highlights; she matched up the color of my old and grown out highlights almost perfectly without much information to go by. She listened and was very meticulous with every strand. The cut was great too. Being fairly new to the area, I am thrilled to have found a place close by with a veteran stylist and pro like Bertha. Prices are a little high, but the time I will save and the 5-day guarantee is probably worth it. I do encourage the owner to keep the discount from Yelp available for 1st time customers. I came to Bavilon with high hopes after I met the owner and they told me about the salon. I should have hesitated since the owner is not a hairdresser himself.. After my first color, I came back to fix my grey hairs I left with a shiny copper orange scalp and an ear-ache from the backwash from the clogged hair-washing sinks. I explicitly told them before each color that I didn't like red or orange hair on me. When I called in to get it fixed within 5 days they were hard to reach and unwilling to help after I heard so much about their 5 day free fix policy. They told me to go buy a shampoo by Sally Hansen to take out the bad color instead of fixing it themselves. The shampoo made the problem worse and when I came back they agreed to recolor my hair but for a HUGE price. I left with red hair again. When I asked for my money back so I could fix it somewhere else they rudely declined. I would not recommend Bavilon to ANYONE. They care more about business profit than their customers. They have poor customer service and lower than mediocre work considering the high prices they charge. My hair is now brittle, dead and still red. They do not stand behind their work. read more

As anyone can see the owner is quick to respond to a bad review. But does not take any action as fault of their own. I never signed a thing during the consultation. I specifically said what was told to me by the stylist. There was No miscommunication between she and I. The miscommunication is between your self the owner and your employees. You do not admit to any fault for booking me under the wrong stylist and having me wait. I also do not understand as to what demographics you are referring to. Are you basing this on my appearance as a young hispanic woman? Because I can assuring you I have no problem paying for a hair service , when it is done correctly. I have already gone to a different salon where they are going to fix my very copper hair. I will be sending you the bill. I also have stopped 5 woman from going to your salon for any type of service. I have taken my daughter to get her hair cut a few times over the past year. Always a good cut so I have gone a few times to get my hair cut. I appreciate the convenience to my neighborhood in Vail. Last Saturday my husband took my daughter for a trim. What we got, was AWFUL. I kept thinking I was styling it wrong so I gave it a week. After six days, it was apparent that it was the cut. We took her back today and I spoke with the owner who looked me in the eye and said, "why didn't you call me immediately." I explained that I was giving the cut a chance. He disappeared for a moment and came back to tell me that Ashley, the woman who did the cut would not be available for the rest of the day so I could schedule an appointment or have a different stylist do the cut but I would have to pay for it. We left. My husband called the owner to see if he could understnad their policy. Basically, five days, if you have a problem with the cut you have to come back within five days to have them fix it. My husband asked the obvious question as why would want the stylist to fix the problem she created? Apparently, if we would have come back in five days, he would have paid for another stylist to fix the bad cut. Whatever, we went to Great Clips to have the mess delt with. While we were at Great Clips, the owner's partner at Bavilon called my husband to say he heard we had a bad experience and was hoping to understand what happened and to see if he could figure something out. That conversation was no better then the conversation with the first owner. Although, this one ended up hanging up on my husband. Bottom line. If you are in business of doing hair and you have any customer come in unhappy with a service you provided, you fix it and you don't blame the customer. We will never go back and we will not be recommending this salon to anyone. read more
