Went in at 5 today, the hair stylist wasn't the friendliest or really personable for that matter, especially with my daughter, unfortunately in that type of atmosphere I don't necessarily except the best service. I couldn't even tell you the lady's name because she didn't introduce herself like they normal would. I have very thin hair and I asked for a specific hair cut and let her know I am aware of my hair and asked her if I did bangs would it look fuller , and she ensured me it would work. I also purchased product from the establishment and it made my hair feel greasy and gross. After I washed my Hair i styled it and noticed that my bangs were cut extremely short and my layers are very choppy, I'm already self conscious because my hair is thinning and fine, now I'm extremely upset, I will never return to this location. read more

Great Clips is hit-or-miss for me. I've had some good and bad haircuts at both Rita Ranch locations. My most recent haircut was rather disappointing. I don't want to judge the stylist based on one experience, but there was definitely a lack of communication, though the stylist was very friendly. Maybe my style was outside this stylist's comfort zone; I'd rather be passed off to someone else if that's the case. If you want a pretty basic haircut at a great price, go for it. If you have any doubts, make sure the stylist is understanding what you want before they get started. Kaitlyn took an hour on my husbands 3 inch hair. And it didn't turn out at all good. I'm pretty pissed off they wouldn't give a heads up she was brand new. She had to have another person try to step in a Save the hair cut after this other lady kept giving her instructions. My son was getting a haircut yesterday at great clips and it was an hour before closing and as my son was getting a haircut the barbers coworker is signaling her to hurry up so they can close, and as that's happening she messes up my sons hair and is forced to cut his hair really short. Checked online with 0 min wait. Got there any everyone was taken. Waited 5 minutes but strike 1. Lady starts cutting my hair and forcefully moves my head to the position she wants. I specifically tell her what to do and she is 75% on but clearly hasn't done mens hair a lot. I use a #0 on the sides and back and my hair looks like Macklemore. It's not hard to understand but she didn't get it. So I pay, get home and see that she left a whole strip of hair in the back of my head. I live 40 min from there so I wasn't going back fffff that. I ended up trim my own damn head so it looks always clean. Wouldn't recommend. "Nice lady" but we aren't your bratty kids that you can man handle our heads and do a shitty haircut. read more

I burst through the doors with two active preschoolers in tow. My son makes a break for it, charges toward the shelves, and grazes a bottle of Scalptherapie Anti-dandruff Shampoo. I readjust the display, look up, and am met with dead-eyed stares. I get it. We're a customer service nightmare. But seriously...for a four-year-old girl, getting a haircut is just a notch below Disneyland. A little faux enthusiasm would be appreciated. I immediately reassure the staff that my son's styling needs would be taken care of at home via a two-man operation involving a Flowbee, and that my daughter - who follows directions well - is thrilled to be having her bangs trimmed. Someone draws the short straw, and leads my little angel to a chair. We don't have to wait, which is awesome, and the process itself is efficient and uneventful. The male stylist doesn't say two words to my daughter, but she doesn't seem to care. She's grinning from ear to ear. In her mind, she's a choppy-banged version of Princess Elsa. "Lollipops for the kids?" "Sure, I'll take one for my daughter." "What about your son?" "He's on a special diet." "That doesn't seem fair. He looks sad!!!" I glance dubiously at my son, who's still obliviously eyeing the Biolage rack, wondering when he can make his next move. "No...really...he can't...he has allergies." I asked the hairdresser to take off 4 inches and add a slight angle to the front. Look at how much she took off and how horrible and chunky the front is! I explained to her how long my hair took to grow and told her I was too scared to go short right away and look at what she did. Horrible horrible place, will NEVER go again!!! This is your typical Great Clips. You go in get on a list to get your hair cut and you get the next stylist that is available, so it can be hit or miss. If there is a stylist there that you know, you can request that stylist, but this might increase your wait time. To avoid long wait times I suggest getting the Great Clips app and do the online check in. You cannot pick a stylist, but you can find out what the wait time is and wait at home after you have checked in rather than waiting a the shop. Also the app will let you know the wait time for the surrounding Great Clips. For example the one in the Fry's shopping center had a 90 minute wait yesterday, but this one only had a 30 minute wait. read more

There is this lady there with black hair and she may be in her mid 40s or so but she is SO rude! Very unwelcoming! I actually left because I felt so uncomfortable while waiting. Horrible experience!!!!!! I took my 5 year old there to get his hair cut. He had long hair where it curled in the back- think little surfer boy. With summer coming I wanted the back shorter- Just the back!!!! I showed the lady pictures and told her to keep the front long (like to the eyebrows)... First off my son is special needs and needs coaching to get a haircut done. This lady was not only not good with kids but was mean to my son. when he asked her to stop cutting she just responded with a nasty voice that "if you would just stay still I could finish". After that she moved to the front of his head and chopped ALL of his bangs off. The kid maybe has a half inch on his forehead.... She was the lady with the black hair in her 40's to 50's....Completely needs a new profession preferably not dealing with people! read more

It's a pretty standard chain. My only real qualm with the place is that most of the time I'm a pretty quick haircut, trim the sides and leave the top alone, and some of the girls will just charge me for a trim (awesome) and some won't. But I'll keep coming back because they never fuck it up. read more

I've been coming here for years for the standard trim-off-the-shaggy-bits job on my shoulder-length hair. But in January, I decided to go short and add bangs for the first time since second grade. One month later, the bangs are so long that they keep catching in the hinge of my glasses (ow!) and it's time to do something so I don't look like Justin Bieber. I grabbed a pair of scissors and a comb, plunked myself down in front of the bathroom mirror, and got to work. BAD MOVE! Too short and terribly uneven, I look like a toddler who as left alone with a pair of craft scissors. Even worse, I have a job interview tomorrow and don't want to look like a dork! Cue a quick run to Great Clips. Nobody laughed at my foolishness, the stylist simply whisked me over to a chair, evened things out, shortened everything else a little bit for an "intentionally short all over" look, and had me looking lovely in a matter of minutes. Do not let Yolanda cut your hair. She was literally so rude to me and ripped hair out of my head. I was so nice and was trying to get her to warm up to me. She also sold me a product and when I got home it wasn't the product I bought. The other hair dresser even told her she was being rude. I wanted to cry with the way she treated me. I visited Great Clips on Valencia for the 1st time several months ago. My hair stylist was Yolanda. She gave me a great cut - so yesterday, I returned to Great Clips and asked for Yolanda. The cut I received yesterday was the absolute worse cut I have ever gotten AND I'm approaching 63 yrs of age! She left me with a bald spot and a ledge at the back of head. When I pointed it out...she said it was because I have a cowlick. I thought hair stylists were supposed to be trained on how to minimize or eliminate the effects of a cow lick OR at least know how to work with it to get the best result. I've been cutting my husband's hair for years (I'm not professionally trained). He has a severe cowlick AND I give me better haircuts than the one I got at Great Clips by Yolanda! I will not be returning no matter who I might get as a stylist. read more
