I am always excited to see a new restaurant open in Greensboro. We have made it out here twice now and the food has not disappointed us. We have tried to bring friends with us but the wait times have been a bit to long since they have just recently opened. This is not a bring a party of 20 establishment. Table tops are 2 and 4 seaters with a pretty bar that stretches almost the length of the restaurant. Which by the way, was a service station when I was a kid. They have done an amazing job remodeling. It is open and airy with a lively atmosphere. Parking is a little tight when they are busy. When the weather is nice, they can definitely accommodate more people with their spacious patio seating. I believe you can order food and eat outside but there is not table service on the patio.
I am going to break this review up into 2 parts for our 2 visits. We first made it out there the second weekend they were open. It was about a 45 minute wait but we found a spot to sit out front so it wasn't terrible. Our server was very busy but she was friendly and attentive. Our appetizer of chimichurri steak tip skewers came out in record time, cooked perfectly. Our sandwiches followed shortly afterwards. I was impressed with the turn time given how busy they were and with them being a new restaurant. The highlight of that evening for me was the Italian chicken sandwich which is basically a caprese with a delicious cutlet of breaded fried chicken, prosciutto, pesto, burrata, arugula, tomato, served on fresh ciabatta. Delicious!! The fries were standard but a good portion. My husband got the filet sandwich cooked, rare with provolone, arugula, red onion, horsey sauce, on ciabatta with hot chips. Also a hit. We ate and got out of there. No one needs to be camping out at a table when there is a line out the door.
We have tried to get back in for dinner a few more times but the hour wait times were a bit too long for us so. We decided to stop by for lunch on a cool rainy Saturday. There was still a bit of a wait but it was to be expected since the patio was closed. I think we probably only waited 15-20 minutes because the hostess (owner) let us know that 2 seats had opened up at the bar which was greatly appreciated since the bar is first come first serve. We decided to try the dry rub jerk wings as our appetizer. I was worried that they were going to be a little too soft for my liking but I was pleasantly surprised that they were a little crisp. They were cooked well and had a good flavor. The blue cheese was not as thick as what I am used to but it was very good and I would say preferred because it didn't overpower the flavor of the wings. My husband has been talking about the filet sandwich since we ate there weeks ago so naturally, he ordered it again. I decided to try the smoked brisket sandwich served with white cheddar, red onion, garlic mayo, pickle, bbq sauce, on Texas toast with sweet potato waffle fries. The fries were a little dry and but it didnt stop me from eating them all. The brisket is a nice cut and the pickles on the sandwich were delicious. The winner side for both visits were the hot chips. I don't think you can ever go wrong with hot chips and ranch.
The butcher case up front has beautiful cuts of meat and there are other sauces, pasta, wines, and other grab and go accouterments on shelves throughout the restaurant to complete a meal to cook at home. They also have tasty looking slices of cakes, sausages, bacon, bottled drinks in refrigerated cases up front.
Overall, delicious food. Love what they have done with the building. Expect a little bit of a wait while they are new if you come for dinner. It is nice to see a new restaurant run successfully in our area. read more
