Did a Yelp search and found Craig's reviews and gave him a call. I live 20 minutes away, so it was just a matter of packing my knives into a knife roll and dropping them off. (If Craig is in the shop, he'll sharpen while you wait, but he wasn't so I left them and got a call when they were done.) I am beyond pleased. I don't remember the last time my knives were this sharp. He removed a notch in my beloved cleaver. I brought him ALL my knives, 9 in total, and at $6/blade the price was right! Prior to writing a service ticket, the gentleman who helped me, first took the compressor to an electrical outlet. He turned the knobs and the release switch at the bottom of the unit. Then he started it. Magic, it turned on right away. I had let someone else use my compressor and they had made adjustments to the knobs without my knowledge. Once everything was set correctly, the machine started. Apparently, the tank was already full (that's why it wouldn't come on). Once some of the air was released and there was room, the machine came on. I had to drive 1/2 an hour to get my equipment serviced so it was really nice that I didn't have to leave it and make a return trip to pick it up. They could have just written a ticket and had me leave it but they did a preliminary check first. I learned something new about my compressor and they saved me money and time by fixing my problem in a few minutes. I highly recommend this business for their integrity and customer service. Fast forward to a few Saturdays later and had my knives in my bag properly wrapped and I was able to drop em off at Dave's booth.He let me know he had a few knives ahead of mine but to come back in an hour and he would have mine ready. After shopping at the market for an hour or so,I went back to grab my knives and they looked great.Dave went out of his way to explain what he did to the knives and telling me the reason they were dull in the first place,made me feel like a "mini" knife connoisseur after that informative conversation.Dave charges $3 an inch to sharpen knives,so not a bad value at all for such professional service.
