Do not take a cell phone to Batteries Plus on Bee Ridge, Sarasota . I made a 10:00 appointment for cell phone screen replacement for my daughter's phone. The paperwork said it should be ready by 10:59 but Chris, the manager, said it probably wouldn't be ready until 1:00 pm. I returned at 1:30 pm and they said they didn't have the right screen to fix the model. Even though they had the model number from the minute I made the appointment they never let me know. I Waited 31/2 hours from the time I left the phone and even though my number was on the paperwork in 3 places they never gave me the courtesy of a phone call. I asked why? Extremely happy with my experience two times in a row. First experience was a new battery for my Jeep (it has a lot of things plugged into it) they did an excellent job switching out the battery and hooking everything back up for me. My second experience was even better. I has just left Chevrolet dealership on Bay Street after three hours of waiting (with an appointment) for them to not be able to program a remote on my 4500. This was the only thing the appointment was for a remote and key. The guys at battery plus had me in and out in less then 20 minutes. They where kind, courteous, professional and timely. Brought my phone into this place fOr a repair on my screen was sold an additional phone protector which per salesman would add protection and prevent damage to the screen .Literally left the store and dropped it on my tile I saw that the glass protector was cracked but didn't think my screen was cracked went to the store expecting to buy another "added" protection screen protector when agent Dylan took off the protector the phone was cracked in several places He took the protector said to leave it with him and he would talk to his manager well when I came back hE said all his manager would would replace the protector but I would have to pay for another repair on my phone I asked for the damaged protector he took off and Dylan stated he could not find it it was misplaced . I will be reporting to better business bureau . Save your money and stay away from these scammers read more

I went here for a new battery for my IPhone. They replaced it and when I got home I realized my voice control was not working. I went back and they said they think a cable was disconnected when the battery was installed. I was furious. I told them that if they didn't have skilled people doing this they shouldn't handle IPhones. Fortunately one of their employees, Tiffany was there and was able to fix the phone. I learned my lesson and will take my phone to a reputable dealer who is authorized to handle this if there is a next time.. read more

Unbeknownst to me, a metal piece of my charging cord had broken off in my phone's charging port. When I attempted to charge it, my charger would obviously not fit into the port. When I looked in with a flashlight, I couldn't discern anything in there. I was afraid that something had collapsed internally and that the fix would be complicated or perhaps untenable. I took it into Batteries Plus, and Christian diagnosed the issue almost immediately. Not only did he diagnose it quickly, but also he fixed it in short order and then, when I took my debit card out of my purse, he said "no charge." I was floored. Batteries Plus has my business. I always wondered how a batteries and bulbs place could be a viable business. Today I found out! I left my key fob in the car and got locked out. My son brought me my spare key fob and it did not open my car either. Needless to say, I had to call a locksmith. The locksmith recommended coming over here to have my fobs looked at. I had just replaced the batteries in both fobs last month. They took a look at the batteries we had purchased at Walgreens and knew immediately that they were discharged. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ELECTRONICS HERE FOR A BATTERY CHANGE! this store changed a watch battery for my husband. They stripped 2 screws, and broke the seal for depth pressure. They never told him. When he started getting moisture in the watch later that afternoon, he called them and they admittedly used the wrong tool but didnt offer any type of solution. It was very dissapointing, because he loved that watch. But we decided not to make a big deal about it. However, when we were talking to a friend this week, she told us the same store broke her phone yesterday, shattered the glass and the fingerprint sensor on the back of it because they used the improper tool to work on the phone, and they told her that. So our incident wasnt isolated. The people you have working at that store are just breaking property with no recourse and it wasnt just us. This is not acceptable. read more

I am 3 weeks into a 7 week non weight bearing recovery from ankle surgery. I am unable to go anyplace without someone driving me and hefting my knee roller in and out of my car. Yesterday morning the battery was dead in my car. I called Batteries Plus and explained my situation to the manager of the Sarasota store #49 - Paul. Paul was Amazingly Kind and offered to come to my home to install my battery! Paul checked with me via phone throughout the day. He was considerate and polite at every encounter. Out here on vacation and forgot my external power supply for my work laptop. Had planned my time in Florida for over 6months but turned out to be a very critical time in my job. The PC being a Lenovo Think Pad, it had a unique connector. Went to Best Buy as suggested by my relatives but the universals were a no-go. This is a follow up to my previous negative review. I received a call from Sean at Batteries and Bulbs on Bee Ridge. He offered to make things right with my damaged watch. I returned the watch to Sean. He had it repaired by his jeweler within 2 days and it now works fine. I repurchased the warranty for battery replacement. Outstanding customer service. I recently purchased a vehicle and only one key came with the car . I called around and was told you need to go to the dealer or the price I was given was exorbitant . I remembered that Batteries plus also handled key fobs and called them . I was told they could get the key for my make and model car the very next day. I dealt with Joe who was very reassuring that they could get the key cut and programmed properly. I was a little skeptical but was pleasantly surprised that Joe got the key cut and programmed at there facility and working as he stated . As a former business owner it's obvious to me that customer service is a high priority for the owners /managers of that particular franchise. Great job and would highly recommend . Now if we could get all businesses to understand that customer service is (do I dare say ) key. read more

Great bunch of fellows working here. Fixed my phone & replaced my windshield wipers all within 30mins. max. That was with a lot of other customers standing in line waiting their turn also. We stopped to get a replacement battery for an older cell phone. They seem to have a fairly deep inventory. However, the clerk was quite pushy. Rather than answer our questions, he pried the back off the phone removed the battery, and searched for a replacement. When he returned we had to take the replacement battery out of his hand to find out that it was lower in capacity and higher in price than the same battery from Radio Shack. We bought the battery there and are pleased. I guess this might be a good place to go if you are clueless about batteries and don't care what you pay. read more

In 2015 I went in to the store and purchased seven of their "Ten year smoke detector" 9V batteries for $67. I asked the guy who worked there if they would honor that if they failed before 10 years. He replied: "save your receipt", if they fail we will replace them. Now 2019, four years later they failed and I DID save the receipt. Their reply was "we don't know what you used those batteries for so we can't honor the ten year commitment." And maybe your smoke detector is at fault. Buyer beware! read more

I had called a couple of places and I had a fossil watch. It was a strange battery that apparently had to be imported or something. anyway I called them and I said sure we've got it. I didn't believe them but I went into the store I couldn't believe immediately they pulled off the shelf took the watch apart put it in. : and my girlfriend even purchased a lantern there that she had been wanting to buy, a really good price and they were helpful on that also. They will not honor the manufacturer's warranty for these products unless you bought the battery there. They claim that the batteries they carry are "special" and are not the same as the Duracell batteries that other retailers sell. This is COMPLETE BS!! Take your business elsewhere! read more

DO NOT COME HERE WITH A CRACKED SCREEN.One of the worst businesses I have ever worked with. They advertise that they will fix your cracked screen for whatever device you bring in. Recently, I brought in my iPhone 6s+ to get fixed. They quoted me a price told me it would be done in under an hour and I thought everything was good to go. I was very wrong. An hour later, I return only to be told that they in fact cannot work on my phone due to not having the correct parts. While I was disgruntled that they wasted some of my time, I really had no qualms and was on my way out when I looked at my returned phone only to realize that they took my working slightly cracked phone, and turned it into a broken worthless device which would ultimately be more expensive to fix. What happened was they opened my phone only to then realize that they couldn't work on it and tried to put it back together so I wouldn't notice the permanent damage. The horror doesn't stop here. I returned inside and asked to see a manager only to be told he wouldn't be in till the next day, fine, I show up and am told he would be late that day, show up a fourth time now and he tells me he magically can get a kit to fix it but it will be some time and wants to charge me close to full price for a repair that he caused. He did this all under the facade of "his price." I told him I would take another route with someone else and he promised to give me a call to see what sort of compensation he could put together for me. Almost a week later and still no call now. Highly unprofessional. Will not be returning for any sort of business. Managers name is Chad, please don't let them ruin your device like they did mine. read more

I needed a battery for my remote car door-lock opener which was quickly replaced for about $10. However the clicker still didn't work and the sales person, whose name I think was Robert, suggested I call Volkswagen to get the reset protocol, which wasn't on his computer. VW said that I would have to come in and it would cost $105! Robert suggested we look at my owners manual and he found the instructions and he reset the lock in two seconds. It works perfectly. Thank You Robert! Actually I then called the VW dealer to complain and he said that what I was told was an error and it wouldn't have cost me $105. But Batteries Plus was over and above helpful for which I am very thankful. He saved me, at the least, a trip to VW! read more

Wow!! We searched high and low for a company to sync our key fob after a deadly puddle killed our last one- and this placed delivered!!! My husband called initially for a price inquiry and was given, not only the price, but the best time and person to ask for to get the best service possible. This is appreciated by any customer! On that note, we did not go at the correct time or use the person referred to us. Oops. We arrived midday on a busy Saturday, with a minivan full of children and a sleeping baby. Needless to say, we thought it might not work out- ha! We were so grateful when JASON not only agreed to come out for the synchronization, also was very accommodating to the children and sleeping baby in the car. Our particular fobs (bought off Amazon) were finicky. Jason persevered and saved the day by programming two key fobs for a fraction of the price offered to us at the dealership!! I was amazed at the level of customer service we received and I will certainly refer anyone to this particular company and especially Jason. read more

My sister went to this store today as a last resort to fix our parents' cell phones, both of which stopped working while both parents are in the hospital. 2 other places were unable to help and suggested this store. Don was terrific in that he was able to fix both phones within a matter of minutes and then didn't charge anything for his service. DON'T HAVE THEM TOUCH YOUR IPHONE. Had my Iphone screen replaced here, soon after, the screen cracked again. Upon inspection, I found out that the tech who installed the new screen neglected to re-install the screws that hold it in place. I brought the phone back to the store to see if they can fix it properly, of course not. The only thing they would offer me is a 10% discount for them to "fix" it again. I think they have recently upped their game at this Batteries Plus - Sarasota. They are more helpful and have more personnel working. I also didn't get the usual upsell which was nice. I have been buying batteries and light bulbs from this location for years and the service has been spotty in the past. Overall I would have given them and average 3 star rating in the past. As of now, I would increase this to 4 stars. Still I agree you have to watch price. Sometimes they are just too far over the big box stores making it worth the slog to Home Depot (where I might die of dehydration before getting help from an employee). Sometimes it is worth paying a little more to avoid this. read more
