I was surprised at how she was able to keep them engaged. She showed us all around Rome, took amazing pictures, took us to a coffee shop and got the kids gelato. She even took us to an Armenian Church in Rome. That was very special. I HIGHLY recommend her!!! THANK You Carlotta

He was personable, clear in his explanations, and attentive to our needs throughout the tour. What made it especially memorable was how he connected with our kids--getting them excited about gelato was a fun touch that they still talk about! The golf cart was a lifesaver, making it easy to visit several sites that would have been impossible to reach with a 5-year-old and 2-year-old in tow. We even opted for the cart to pick us up from the hotel so it was seamless from beginning to end. The car seat for our youngest was clutch. Actually the ride was so soothing that our 2 year old fell asleep for part of the trip. Chris also introduced us to the Roman Orange Garden, a peaceful spot we'd never have found on our own. While many sites in Rome are walkable, this tour gave us the freedom to explore comfortably as a family, and we truly appreciated the balance of convenience and insight. If you are someone who love to do all the research ahead of time, then maybe this tour is too surface level for you. I would recommend a more targeted tour for the Coliseum or Vatican City. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend LivTours--and especially Chris--for families looking for an stress-free way to experience Rome.

I can say that Max lived up to the hype and we really enjoyed spending three days with his company. We did the typical sites in Roma and Max also took us to Pompei and Sorrento. We would never been able to see all the places we did without hiring Max and I think we spent about 10 minutes total over three days waiting in line. Typical tourists wait hours just trying to get into the Vatican or the Colosseum. If your time is valuable and you want to truly enjoy Roma and Italy without all the headaches than pay a little extra get the best guide company I have ever had the pleasure of using.

There are only a hand full of events in a lifetime that truly mark your soul. The two days we…read morespent with Max were one of those moments. His knowledge of Rome, it's layers of history, and Max's kindness made for a truly memorable visit. Max had an ability to make us feel like we were the only people in the city and that we were truly "friends not customers". He ensured we felt welcome at every location we visited, while ensuring we understood and appreciated the depth of historical significance the relics and monuments we visited held. The only bad part of Max's tour was the end, when we had to say good-bye to a true scholar of Rome and a genuine man. It would be a mistake not to let Max introduce you to Rome! Don and Sara

We weren't celebrities like his past clients (Oprah, Bill Gates, Frank Sinatra, and Sharon Stone just to name a few), but we were still treated as if we were true VIPs. What made our guide special was that he listened to me and my wife. When he found out that my wife's major interests included Catholic history, he immediately adjusted his itinerary, focused on historically significant locations in the Catholic faith, and as a result created a truly personalized experience that changed our lives forever. My wife and I wanted a personalized experience with space. We didn't want to be herded like cattle like the other tour groups and we didn't want to be rushed on a trip that was meant to relax us. We wanted privacy, intimacy, and a life changing experience... Access Europe delivered.

Our trip to the Vatican was once in a lifetime with a private tour guide Giulio who came and picked us up in a private car at our hotel. The highlight of our trip was the day we spent on the ocean on our own boat that arrived at the docks in Positano and brought us along the entire amalfi coast and over to Capri. The entire experience we had with Access Europe was top shelf and would recommend their services to anyone looking for a experience of a lifetime!

I…read moreunderstand there can be language differences, but as someone who speaks both Italian and English, even I couldn't understand the hybrid way the guide spoke - he left the whole group not understanding a single word. The explanations were monotone, the emphasis was on the wrong syllables and oddly, every word that should start with a vowel started with an H. Helephant. Hantelope. Height-Height. Also far too much time was spent on his binder of web photos. I'm not sure what company this guide was contracted through (as I'm fairly certain The Roman Guy uses third parties now, which is different from the first time I used them a few years ago), but TRG needs to review the fluency of their guides. This was my third tour of the Colosseum over the past few years and it was a complete waste of money. It was supposed to be only an hour and after 90 minutes of not comprehending a word we finally left. Since the official Colosseum site makes it not easy to secure tickets directly, I'm just viewing the whole experience as an overpriced entry ticket. Many people in our group just took their earpieces off after a certain point. Regarding the actual tour booking and the days leading up to it, I received a message a few weeks prior stating that the tour could not happen at the scheduled time due to operational issues, and would I be open to coming later in the day? They asked me to choose an option (which there was no second option presented but I presumed it was a refund) so I told them I would just take the refund as we had a flight to catch during the revised time. They wrote me back immediately and said that "they were just checking on if I could take the new time but the scheduled time is still fine". Very confusing, is it cancelled for operational reasons or not? The whole thing was just odd and I won't be booking again.
