While he doesn't speak English he does his best to communicate with his guest who don't speak Italian. He's very well published in National Geographic, Food & Wine, and more. The trip costs about 100 euro for the whole day and this includes breakfast, lunch, cave tours, private beach, and more! This area is truly the heart of Tuscany! A must see and do. Take a trip out for the day with a Maremma fisherman by Donna Stiles- See more at: http://www.maremmaguide.com/things-to-do-in-maremma.html#sthash.0XOJqiJF.dpuf In the small port of Talamone you will find the fishing boat of a Maremmano fisherman and environmental guide by the name of Paolo Fanciulli. Featured in many of the official Tuscany tourism videos for Maremma, Poalo offers visitors the possibility of a whole day out at sea fishing with him whilst he tells you about the sea creatures and plant life that you will see and the environmental issues that face these coastal waters. You get to eat some of the catch in the nets as he and his assistant grill the fish and serve it along with other local speciality foods for lunch. Depending on which trip you take, you can also get to see the spectacular coast of the protected Parco Regionale della Maremma from the sea. With a stop-off on the beautiful, did I say beautiful, white sand cove of Cala di Forno, to which access is restricted from land (the footpaths are closed throughout the summer) and requires a difficult six hour and 12.8 km trek when they are open! You get to get there by boat. Contact Poalo via www.paoloilpescatore.it

We reserved a pizza making and wine tasting tour without knowing what to expect. My were we blown away by the hospitality, ease of cooking, senses of humor and beauty of it all. It was a day we will never forget. Being the only one of the tour group that spoke Italian, I was able to chat with Umberto, the current owner of the vineyard. He told me about the 9 generations that built the place and the devastation brought on by WWII. He explained how he gets up before dawn every morning to tend to the animals and grapes. It was a surreal day that we spent laughing, eating our own Roman creations and drinking the best wine in the world.

This walking tour of the town of Frascati and of the Minardi vineyard was so awesome! Jo met us at the train station (we drove and parked there as we were meeting others that were arriving by train) and walked us around the town of Frascati and gave us lots of interesting stories about the town's history and culture. We stopped a few different times during the walking tour to take photos and for Jo to do some errands along the way. She pointed out places that she does her shopping (her fish monger, bread store, etc). We talked a lot about the war that destroyed a bunch of the buildings in town and some that still show damage. As we strolled through town, other locals waved and greeted us. Very friendly town! We stopped at a family restaurant to make our own pasta. This was the first time that I made pasta from scratch. It seemed to be easier than I would have expected. But, granted, I had Italian pasta experts right there to assist me! After we cut our pasta to dry, we ventured off to the vineyard. We walked the vineyard a little and learned a lot about Italian wine, kinds of grapes, the governmental regulations of vineyards and followed this up by sampling some delicious wine! The views from this vineyard are made for a postcard! He paired each wine with some appetizers. Their homemade wine jelly is fantastic! We finished our tour back at the restaurant to eat our pasta. The restaurant covered our pasta and gnocchi with two different sauces and there was more wine to pair it with! Frascati wine is divine! A must try! They do have some wines from Frascati available in the States. Do look for them. TIP: Any Italian bottle of wine with a little label on it that says DOCG, try it!
