I had an incident at my home that required repairs. BOFP is/was an approved vendor. When I called them, the rep said I should have had the repairs done immediately. It took them 2 weeks to figure out that they didn't have the capacity to do the job...2 weeks!?!?!?! read more

They came out to do an inspection. They said that everything was great. I called them to get a copy of the inspection report. They don't have any records of having done an inspection big red flag. Also, my neighbors had an inspection and now one of their sprinklers is leaking. It was not leaking before the inspection. There was no comment about a leaky sprinkler when they did the inspection so it would appear that it's from manipulation during the inspection they refuse to fix it claiming it was like that before, but it was mentioned in their inspection report.. read more

The very worst fire alarm system company in the Bay Area by far. Stay away from this company, far, far away.

Extremely displeased with their service. Every time there is a power outage, however brief, the alarm begins beeping LOUDLY and incessantly. Since this alarm is in a residential building, this is extremely annoying when it goes off all night. When I called the company, they said there was "no point" in coming to turn it off, when they would only have to send a technician out to turn it back on again when the power was restored. I tried to explain the "point" in doing so would be so that everyone in the building could get some sleep, and the person answering the phone got quite the attitude (and hours later, the alarm is still going off.) Why something like this, that is linked to PG&E's fairly unreliable grid, cannot be deactivated and reactivated remotely is beyond me. read more

After using them for years... looking for a new vendor now. They installed some box with parts and wrenches but never locked the box. Tools have been stolen from inside the box and they trying to bill us for a replacement. Besides. That tool (wrench) is $99, and the head wrench attachment is $34.25, both quoted at QRFS. We're ok pay their cost, plus a 15% markup. Not what seems to be a 200% markup. Vendor didn't want to lower the invoice. Too bad! read more

This week the folk's from Battalion visited our startup in Dogpatch unannounced. When asked if I could help them, the individual said we are here for a sprinkler inspection. I said I don't believe we were notified. He said Jim sent out notices, you do know Jim. Serious attitude. As it turns out the company was notified by the landlord. Upgraded from 2 STARS to 3 STARS - However, there was no need for the attitude. read more

So I've been listening to an alarm sounding off for the past 24 hours, and decided to investigate and see if I needed to call the police for a welfare check. I walk over a block to the source of the noise. Turns out the sound is coming from a box, with this company and telephone number. Keep in mind this sound is loud, similar to a smoke alarm, and I'm not near the source. I call and I'm told there is nothing I can do -- the owner needs to call. I call the 800 Central Station number, they tell me I need to call Battalion One again. I speak with the same woman. I let her know my frustration and ask to speak with Mike the president. She tells me "no one" speaks with Mike, and forwards my call to John. John's last sentence to me was; (edited) "Shut the f**k up, you f**king c**t!!!" and then he hung up on me. Really classy John, I'm glad you don't have an alarm sounding off a block away from your home. If this is how they handle the general public, how would they handle a fire?!?! I hope you make your $1000 today to turn that sound off on a weekend as opposed to the normal $400 call on a weekday. Oh wait -- I should "Shut the f**k up, you f**king c**t!!!" read more

Fire sprinkler technician Joey just completed a annual inspection! He displayed wonder customer service and helped get us back in compliance! I'f you have work coming up, feel free to recommend him! read more

My complex HOA hired this company to do the sprinkler annual inspection and fix. Last year, they invoiced us ~50% higher than the original quote. They had list out things they said they worked on but we know they didn't as they didn't go into that room. We have others in the complex received bill 200% higher. - They walk the whole place to provide the quote, and there was no reason given on why the final invoice were way higher than the quote We were told that only 2 companies in the area does the inspection, and laws requires annual inspection. So we are stuck with using them again this year. Last year, even though we paid more, it didn't prompt me to write a review. This year they came by to inspection, and a couple thing prompt me to write feedback: 1. They walk around the my house without shoe covers or took off shoes. He bring dirt from outside and from other people's house. I was in my kid's room when he came in. He took a look at my kid's mat, then just step all over it. My kid has allergy, I did make a note to myself to buy shoe covers and provide it to them! 2. This year they said you have a sprinkler that's cover by paint and need fix. HELLO, you looked at the place last year and bill us bunch extra, how come you miss it? This seriously make me doubt rather they know what they were doing. I am waiting for the quote and will update after the final payment. It feels like highway robbery as we are forced to use them and they just charge whatever they want regardless of what they quote. read more

Battalion One is awesome!!!! They have been consummate professionals and have consistently put 110% into every one of my projects. They take the time to understand the properties & projects in great detail. They are a pleasure to work with and deliver on their promises. I have worked with battalion one for the past 10 years with great success .We handle many large corporations, refineries and other large sites. The guys are always professional on time and even in emergency situations will come out on weekends and holidays to get the job done for me. Whenever an explanation is needed on a proposal or a report they 100 % back and explain what is needed and answer any of my questions. I highly recommend these guys as I have worked with several different fire companies over the past 10 years. They are all very knowledgeable on fire systems and alarm panels, and always have a solution at hand. Great job guys. read more

I have had the absolute worse experience with this company. They installed their fire alarm systems in one of my buildings a few years ago and since then they go off with a constant nonstop beeping sound for days on end until I can get them out to have them turn it off. Shockingly every time they come out they say they can't find the actual problem but just make a recommendation of what they think it might be although they can't prove it and then they charge me their minimum service call which is for three hours of work at a rate of $160 an hour. So one of the times they came out for about 20 minutes and charged me $480 and they just came out again for about an hour and charged me $480 again and the problem still isn't fixed. I will absolutely never use them again and I'm so disappointed that their system is in my building because when the alarm goes off constantly again in probably a month or two I will have to spend another $480 for them to come out and not fix it. It's shocking to me that they can just come out over and over and profit off clients over the fact that their system is faulty and will keep charging them $480 for their service charge and not fixing it. It is clear that this is their profit model. read more

Horrible mistake getting involved with this company. Zero customer service skills with an our way or the highway attitude. read more

I noticed there were 2 reviews for a Sunnyvale TH complex for this company. I expect both of those reviewers live at the same complex I do. I side with the 1-star reviewer. More on that in a moment. I will say the individuals who came to do both the inspection and repair were very cordial and professional. No problems there. However, the company seems to believe it has a monopoly on this market and engages in severe price gouging. I personally was charged for the equivalent of $1,100 per hour for labor charges (it took them less than 15 mins. to do the work...there were numerous other residents who were charged similarly). Absolutely outlandish and unacceptable. Of course, it is our TH complex's board of directors that struck this "deal with the devil" and truly acted outside the best interests of the homeowners to the point that one could suspect there is some kind of collusion or kickback going on between our board and Battalion One. And this has been going on for 3+ years even tho numerous homeowners registered complaints with our board for the same problems with Battalion One. So, back to the reviewer who, in May of 2017, gave this company 5 stars and mentions the Sunnyvale Condo Community (we are actually townhomes). Based on her posted information, it is fairly obvious she serves on our board of directors and approved our contractual arrangement with Battalion One which places in question a conflict of interest since she is connected to the owners/employees :( With what she knows from the homeowners' complaints about this company it boggles the mind that she could offer such a superb review (which certainly raises suspicions about things). So suspecting there may have been some back room deals going on, I would suggest you completely discount her review. I do :( read more

I manage a building, which had a 50 year old Fire Alarm panel, which seemed to be dead in the water, if not on its last leg, and needed to be replaced. I was given the responsibility of finding a company to replace it. I meet with numerous companies and received numerous estimates. And I found that many companies wanted to try to sell you on a Total Overhaul; which is generally extremely expensive. Mike from Battalion One Fire Protection was different. He understood we wanted to do a gradual overhaul, phasing in upgrades. He recommended we go with an Addressable Fire Alarm panel; which would allow us to do a Gradual Phase in of Upgrades over time; and which would disperse the costs over time too. And he recommended we keep the existing horns; which are much louder than the new horns that would replace them. Mike made great recommendations; and his crew did a great job of installing, and testing, the new system. So Thanks, Paul, from Berkeley read more

DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR! They practice interesting schema: they conduct inspections and repairs; which gives them room to initially send broad, without any specifics report (usually it is very inaccurate, including some additional equipment which is not here); and after that start replacing who knows what and why. It was our case and original report was only two lines specifying to work on some items at the cost of $800. Interestingly enough, the very first lines had discrepancy we DON'T HAVE specified equipment in the noted location and the reason for the replacement was painted over sprinkler heads, but THERE WERE NO PAINT on any of those. We asked for clarification and they conducted another inspection which resulted in three times raise of the original estimate and replacement of additional equipment for some B.S. reason. DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR! They are unprofessional and dishonest. read more

They were prompt, responsive, and did a fantastic job. I fully recommend them.

Worked with them on a project in Oakland. They were knowledgeable, quick and professional. Initially seemed expensive, but after getting quotes from two other companies I guess fire sprinkler work is just expensive across the board. Very helpful office staff. I would work with them again. read more

awful experience. workers are nice but did not do nearly enough work. left piles of stuff lying around. also the owner has a very big ego. seems to think he is the best thing ever. really needs to get a high horse. you run a fire protection company you are not a rockstar read more

I can't say enough good things about this company. They act very professional and offer a number of Fire Protection services. I needed information on sprinklers , alarms, and extinguishers I couldn't believe they could handle all my needs with basically one phone call. I will continue to use and recommend this company. read more

I have worked with Battalion One for years. They are good guys! It is obvious they have a hard working and organized office. Any small business has its characters (and character flaws), but I appreciate their timelines, knowledge, and overall help. I have even had occasion, unfortunately, to deal with Battalion One to help with an emergency sprinkler situation; which was handled with ease and the problem was solved quickly. I recommend them to any commercial space and building seeking fire alarm, fire extinguisher, and sprinkler services. They do it all and they do it all well read more

The folks at Battalion One have been a tremendous help in my Sunnyvale condo community. The management is professional at detailed planning, scheduling and pricing and have consistently bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. The staff responsible for inspection and repair are exceptional: on time, respectful and efficient. Battalion One has done an excellent job for our community. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them as a five-star company. read more

I cannot say enough great things about this company. They are knowledgeable about fire alarms and translating that info to layman's terms. They are friendly and responsive to questions/concerns. We had a glitch caused by ATT that affected our fire alarm. Mike came over to our property and helped trouble shoot with ATT to fix the problem on a Saturday. I was so blown away by this companies A+ customer service. I feel it is a dying art form, but not at Battalion One. Do yourself a favor and switch over to them for your fire alarm needs! read more
