This location never knows what to do about returns. The employees don't know the company's polices. The Foothills location is much better.

After spending 20 minutes looking for hand sanitizer and diaper wipes (for camping!) at this…read moreWalgreens, I'm convinced that everything bad I've ever said or done to other people have come back to haunt me here. First, this Walgreens is not as well-stocked as the one slightly further away on Oracle and Ina. Second, it was a pretty difficult to find someone for help, maybe because they are understaffed (or not staffed properly). Third, this Walgreens is some kind of Customer Service Black Hole, as shopping here is like a test of the Emergency Broadcast System - where normal life is interrupted, while a siren is screaming (in your head), as you watch cashiers moving as fast as a Saguaro grows in the desert during the dry season. And although the 'test' is maybe only 5 minutes, you feel it may be as much as 10 or 20, and that your time here might have been better spent giving yourself a rectal exam. I understand that Tucson is a retirement community and it's wonderful that many retirees are hired to work in roles that are typically filled by "younger people" or Big Bird, but I spent 5 minutes watching a cashier ring up a lady and her $50 purchase of 24-pack sodas, then discover that nothing registered, because he wasn't signed into the register, while another lady rang up a couple she was helping, only to discover she couldn't, because the man was using her account on his register and had locked her out. They discovered this only after repeatedly trying to ring up their customers and letting them swipe their credit cards several times. Even though I was sighing loudly and giving everyone the stink eye (and there was quite a line behind me), nobody apologized. The manager took over, but acted as if nothing had happened. Ironically, nothing much did happen at his Walgreens, which is probably why I won't be going back.

I didn't notice until the next day that the hormone patch was the wrong strength, one I haven't used in 9 months. When I called them they said they needed a new authorization for the correct one and said they would send a message to the Dr. They were unable to explain why they had refilled a prescription incorrectly but I suspect it's a system flaw that they had zero interest in fixing. A few days later they said they hadn't received it and I should call the Dr. myself. I did, I was given a refill only fax#, they told me they would watch for it, and I gave the number to Walgreens. They still didn't have it last Monday but gave me 1 patch, (out of a box of 8). Why I can call the Dr. and get right through and they can't, is a mystery. . . Yesterday I called again and they said they still didn't have it and when I asked what I should do, they said call another Dr., so I called my primary care at 3, explained the situation and they said they would send the authorization in. I went to the pharmacy at 4:45 last night and they didn't have it. I needed it by this morning, 11 days after submitting my initial refill request. I listened to a slow talking Assistant Manager who called my primary care who confirmed they'd received the request and that it might still arrive before 7 when the pharmacy closed, otherwise they would be closed until Wednesday. She then went on and on about liabilities and legalities after I insisted I needed another patch. I asked for the store manager and 55 minutes later left with one patch and her in a huff because I cut her off after she wanted to explain why I would have a problem with Insurance on next month. She slowly wrote 3 different notes, one on a label that she put on a pill bottle and stuffed the patch in! I was so upset I forgot to pick up another prescription that had been filled, so I went back today and after asking my name, number and birthday twice, they told me the price was $42. I said no, it's $15, it's what I've been paying all year and they said the Insurance must have changed it and I needed to call them. I didn't take it, looked up my insurance when I got home and the price hadn't changed, though I saw if I got it from CVS 3 months at a time, it would be $10 a month, not $15. So for the sake of asking them to correct a mistake they made, they've decided to mess with me personally - hormone patch and antidepressant, not a good combo to mess with! I hope she gets fired and I hope you go elsewhere, as will I. Thank you.
