I am a candle fiend. I love candles. And I really love the candles from Bath & Body Works! I especially love the White Barn candles, I think they have a really good throw. The Valley Plaza location has been really good about online orders and honoring my rewards when I use them. I see other reviews complaining about these things, but I haven't had any issues. I know they don't allow you to stack certain coupons, but you can avoid any awkward situations by just downloading the app and shopping on there! I think it's time to get an entire new staff. As we were picking up our online orders. Not only did they cancel our order because they were out of stock, but when they realized they were in stock I had to cancel my order to get the three pieces that they THOUGHT they didn't have. This whole thing while she gives us attitude like she just wants us to leave. We weren't even there late, it was 5pm. I also felt appalled about how the lady next to me was being treated as well. The lady who helped me was so rude since I was coming up to her register. Whenever I went in the store I was greeted and the lady had colored red hair, she was really nice. The lady on the register had two long black pony tails and a pimple patch on her face. She was really disrespectful to me basically insisting I don't use my coupons and rolling her eyes. When I asked where the travel item was she was so mad and told me to go get the travel item that either way she was going to ring up the other people in line on the next register. Woke up early for Candle Day just to be told they don't use the mail coupons or the 10$ off of $40 on top of the candle sale. This has been allowed for years and the company said it's okay but the store refused. They will do 2 separate transactions to use the coupon on other bbw products because if they do it in all 1 transactions THE COUPON WILL WORK ON THE CANDLES. Mind you, this boosts their conversion which is a huge factor for the managers and a daily goal of theirs. I'm a former BBW employee and I love the candles but you can get them for 6.12 during semi annual sale when they're on the 75% off tables. The 9.95$ is not the "lowest price". During the winter they have my absolute favorite scent ever and from the time they release it in the winter and til the time they stop, I probably visit the mall once every two weeks (payday) to get more of my favorite scent. I kinda stock up because I love it that much. I used to be a huge fan of Victoria's Secret scents but since I am allergic to tons of things, bath and body has lotions that are much lighter and I noticed I don't break out from the lotions or hand sanitizers from bath and body. Worst place ever, I tried to return a perfume, unfortunately my kid got rid of the receipt. Now most places will ask you for the same card you used and look up the purchase and give you a full refund, well not here. First they told me that they could only give me a gift card for the store instead which I was fine with it, my kid could use it but the gift card was for $6.99 when I had paid $16.74 for the perfume, they said that this was because I didn't have a receipt. I even showed them the bank transaction that proved how much I had paid for the perfume, their response was that it was because I didn't have the receipt. It is amazing how many companies are still trying to cheat their customers. There are a lot of companies out there that keep up with the times and offer you the best service possible, like being able to give you a full refund just by looking up the card that you used to buy their product, needles to say this is a store I will never use again and I will tell every person I know about this experience. read more

When I called to ask if my order was ready the Staff member taking my call was extremely rude and stated in store pickups are not a priority. Which I found to be awfully rude. I placed an online order on 11/28 and got an email stated my items would be shipped separately but I would still receive my FULL order within 7 business days. The day before the 7th business day I went onto the live chat because my 2nd part of my order still had not even been shipped and was told that if I did not receive it by the 10th business day that I could file a claim. I come here 99.99% of the time for my wife, she loves this certain type of body lotion that is available only during the winter season of course. The other .01% is when I will purchase a MAN lotion, haha. Yes they do offer a limited selection of things for men which to me some smell great and some not so much. Cons: This store is currently the only BBW in BAKERSFIELD which isn't always great because of the volume of public issues, parking and crowds. Pros: BBW has really good periodic promotional sales and worth the trip. Cons: Sales and counter staff needs couching for better customer service. I knew exactly what fragrance I wanted and I was able to find it on my own, which was good because no one asked to help me. Line had few minutes wait which is common due to sale. A young African American girl was my cashier not very friendly or outgoing, kept calling me hun , she's too young to be calling people twice her age that in my opinion. she saw that I was fumbling in the app looking for the 25% coupon she did nothing to help me find, as a matter of fact she took a step back from register appearing frustrated that I didn't have it ready to show her. Unsuccessful in finding the coupon I paid for purchase without it due to pressure of the wait of people behind me and feeling frustrated. I left the store not happy with my experience. Minutes later found the coupon so decided to go back to redeem it. The Hispanic cashier I got was much more pleasant and was so helpful, she actually asked if she could see my phone to show me where I can find my rewards bar code and where to find the coupons!!! To win a woman over one must go through her nose. Bath and Bodyworks does just that. I have their scented plug-ins, their car scentsy, their soaps, their lotions, their body wash. I have their hand sanitizer and candles. They almost always have some sort of deal, but with that deal means you're always having to buy a lot to get a lot free- hence the $70 bill I had today upon visiting. While my hands smell like eucyliptis mint, my car like a tall glass of watermelon lemonade, and my bedroom like sweet pea... I do have a slight issue. I love to smell dessert scents like their Vanilla Bean Noel, Cinnamon Streusel Gingerbread Snickerdoodle without having to worry about the extra calories but they don't carry that 24-7 year round. I came into the Valley Plz store yesterday and had the misfortune to meet a sales clerk that is so over the top annoying its ridiculous. She acts like she is on diet pills, with her rapid elevated speech. You can't pick up anything to look at it, or smell it without getting a dissertation on why she thinks it is better than this or that, like I'm asking her oponion. I started off with a bag of items and left with nothing because of one very curly brunette haired girl. I checked today to see if there was another Bath and Body in town and apparently there isn't. So take my advice if you have to brave the store in the mall, proceed slowly and if you see a loud, peerky Know-it-all run for the door and come back when she isn't there. I really hate the merchandising for this store with its ongoing bargains and ugly gingham decor. It seems like the place for a tweener to pick up some cheap strawberry lip gloss. Well, I have been WRONG. After a friend gifted me with a delicious Peppermint Twist candle, I'm thoroughly hooked on both the candles and Wallflower scented oils. A huge array of seasonal fragrances, all very attractively packaged and 100% guaranteed. Shopping here can be brutal, however, so be prepared. Yes, I am willing to take down the old gal in stiff-legged Levis and bouffant hair who is hovering near the last Sticky Toffee Pudding candle! I believe in purposeful shopping!
