Pat and crew were able to clean out a 5 bedroom house, filled to the brim with collectors items, technology, gadgets, tools, musical equipment, and ham radio gear, books, and computer technology. I was very concerned about missing out on hidden treasures or throwing away something that would later turn out to be very valuable. They were able to research the real value of all of the items and set fair prices. Steve Kaplan, the owner and auctioneer is one of the most honest and ethical people I have met in the business. He gets that the business is as much about relationships as it is about honesty, integrity and just making your customers feel appreciated. He is not as active as some of the other auction houses, often having about half the number of auctions, but I will skip another to attend his auction anytime. I have bought some beautiful pieces and very fair prices here and am always anxious to see what is coming up in his next auctions. From our very first conversation, my wife and I knew that Arthur was the professional we were looking for. He was very knowledgeable; setting very realistic expectations for the process, the timeline, and what our likely results would be. Brent and Diane (the owners) took the paintings to the post office in Richardson and the prints were immediately lost before they could even be loaded in the truck to Austin. While they were under no obligation due to their standard terms and conditions, Central Treasures refunded the bulk of my purchase. They basically covered their costs and I thought that was completely fair. It wasn't their fault the Post Office could find Austin with two hands and a flashlight, and I chalked it all up as just another 2020 peccadillo. But Brent and Diane just couldn't let it go. They keep poking and asking and to everyone's surprise the prints found their way back to Central Treasures four months later. A quick email from Diane, a charge back of the generous refund and my Ugandan watercolors now hold pride of place in their new home.
