The park itself is a nice place to get outside in the summer, too. It can be a bit grimy, but it's hard to hate on sand and water and sunshine. The sunsets can be spectacular by the pier, the boardwalk is nice for a walk, and there's some places to play and even some public grills if I remember right. As far as the vendors go, I'm not that big on Bill Gray's, but Abbot's ice cream is a winner. Ice cream + sunshine + sand + sea (I mean lake) = good.

(So sad) Jack's Place is such an awesome playground! The recommended age range is 5-12. There are so many neat aspects of it including some unique spinning "rides", numerous slides, swings, lots of places to climb and a rubberized digging zone. There are a few benches around for the adults. Our kiddos had so much fun here! Highly recommend!

There are a few different activities for the kids, some the same as the location in Penfield such as the sand pit (here it's rubber), the big standup spinner, and the signature dinosaurs.
