Batch Mead is now one of our all-time favorite places to go in Temecula! We had gone to Corbeaux Wine & Tea House (would highly recommend as well!) last year and ordered the lavender mead on a whim. We loved it so much that we ended up purchasing a bottle to go at the restaurant and decided that we wanted to go to the actual meadery the next time we were in town. We visited Batch Mead yesterday, and were blown away by how delicious the mead was - we were so impressed that we signed up for a Hive Club membership on the spot! The staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and the tasting room itself is really cute and stocked with lots of board games. This review is long past due but batch mead is amazing. I originally met the owners at mead fest in Vista and tried their butterbee mead that was better than any other mead we tried while at the event. I then found their meadery and have visited multiple times trying many different flavors and all have been phenomenal. I've never had a bad experience. My favorite meads are the butterbee and From the Ashes but the original recipe with cocoa nibs, vanilla and chipotle. I wish they would make that recipe again because it was shockingly good. I hope I can visit again soon. read more

I LOVE mead! Whenever I get a chance to try a new meadery I take it. This is probably up in my top 2 favorites of all time. But since it's in Temecula it is my favorite here. You have to do a tasting flight. The options are just too good and they have so many. My favorites are from the ashes (I love the little kick of spice to it) and nectar of Valhalla ( great peach taste). The other flavors were great but those two stood out to me. So I was drawn to this mead on their Facebook advertising. The thought of a butterscotch and vanilla mead sounded great. My bottles arrived and first thing I noticed was how dirty the bottles were. They were covered in dust and debris. After cleaning them off a bit I noticed the portions where different in each bottle. I can under stand this happening I guess if they are hand outing the bottles. But for the price I'd hope to get consistent portions. Onto the mead. I've been exploring mead a lot lately and have been really enjoying the trip. I was very excited to try this flavor profile in the butter beer. The smell is... well, not very pleasant. Not sure how to explain it but upon smelling it, you don't get that natural urge to drink it. This mead is VERY sweet. While drinking it, it's hard to find the nice clean mead flavor under all the flavor. Reminded me of the comparison between a nice whiskey vs fireball in term of how this and sugary fireball is. This is the only mead of theirs I have tried so I cant say much bad. I do know this is an odd flavor to go for but I guess I had different expectations. I probably won't order anymore of this flavor but might try out some of their other meads if I can find a good deal. Shipping was pricey. I will say that their customer service was great. I placed my order at the begin my of the week and by Saturday it still had not shipped. I live within the state and expected to get the shipment within the week and I was leaving out of town the following week. I thoroughly enjoyed my first venture into tasting mead at Batch Mead! We were able to have two flights +2 extra tastes, and therefore we were able to taste everything on the menu! I highly recommend having a cheese board/charcuterie to cleanse your pallet between drinks. Of all of them I liked the painted orange best. The staff was super friendly. The atmosphere is lovely. Discovered Batch Mead through other local businesses on Instagram so thought we would give it a try. I ordered a couple of bottles for my Birthday/Thanksgiving. We opted to pick it up during their tasting hours. When we got there, we were stopped by someone in a waiting room and asked to stay put because they were filming a commercial. After 10-15 minutes they wrapped it up and we were able to come into the main room of the meadery. It's pr nice and open. I noticed not everyone was wearing masks as they were part of the film crew and were at the bar, which is their prerogative, we had our masks on. They gathered our order and they let us know they didn't have the label for one of their new strawberry rhubarb pie meads. We were fine without a label. It's what's on the inside of the bottle that counted. The Strawberry Shortcake Mead was nice. It has a very light and bright flavor. And it's pretty cool that they source their strawberries from a strawberry farm that we've picked strawberries at during the summer. The Strawberry Rhubarb was much more acidic for me than I'm the Strawberry Shortcake. It was a nice contrast in flavor and intensity. We haven't cracked open the Boysenberry Pie Mead yet. Maybe for Christmas. Would like to drop in for a flight sometime. Looks like a fun atmosphere. read more

I normally love this place, it's one of my absolute favorites. The meads are amazing, the staff is wonderful, but an incident has me reconsidering my membership. I drove an hour out here to pick up my order of meads that I ordered a month ago to be sure that I would have it for my sister's Christmas gift tomorrow only to arrive to find that not only was my order erroneously marked fulfilled on a day I was no where near here and they weren't even open, but my bottles were then sold to someone else. Refund or not, this is absolutely unacceptable. That's two hours of driving and gas wasted, and a super special gift that I had looked forward to sharing with my mermaid obsessed sister lost because they can't keep their inventory in order. The meads here tasted more like flavored wine rather than mead. Out of the flight of 4 tastings I got, I only enjoyed 1 (blueberry). The atmosphere was nice, it was quiet and seemed to be kind of hipster. The glasses were cute and presentation was nice. Staff was nice and checked in to see how we enjoyed our tastings. Prices were fair, it was $12 for a flight. They are pet friendly dog which is a perk and I like their guest sign in book at the front. I don't think I'd go back, to be honest. read more

we had a quick stop on a Sunday and it was a success , we pretty much tried everything on their menu (except the cheese and meat board - though we were tempted) We had a tasting of the 7 options they had available and our absolute favorites were: 1. AUTUMNS REWARD CYSER, if you like apple Pie and mead - look no further . My husband and I are not into cyser's but we decided to try everything on the menu and we ended up with a bottle ! 2. WINTER SOLSTICE, was definitely a tie with the Cyser but out of the meads - that's the best one we tried - I even joked that it could easily replace my morning tea (we got 2 bottles of this one!) 3. MIDNIGHT MEAD , a little more body but the flavors were on point . AMBIANCE/ STAFF - great , owners are very friendly and it feels very cozy even though it's set at a warehouse type space. They have a decent number of tables which accommodate 14-16 people plus bar seating ! We were very excited to try some more local mead and were happy to hear they are trying to source everything from as close to home as possible - which makes us even more fans!! Mellow, classy, easy to drink, appreciative, approachable, easy going, unobtrusive would be some of the words I would use to describe their offerings. We recently had both side of our Bay Area families stay with us. My wife and I took our two teenage sons and my BIL and his wife here the first day they were offering their Blueberry Mead. We walked in and were greeted warmly. We found a table and settled in to review the tasting menu. We decided on two-four tasting flight selections. My wife and I both enjoyed the Blueberry Mead, Midnight Mead and Hard Apple Cider. My BIL and his wife enjoyed the Pineapple Mead, Autumn's Reward Cyser, and Winter Solstice Mead. After choosing our favorites, we each ordered a pour of the we liked the most. My wife, who is not a Blueberry fan by any stretch of the imagination, surprised me when she chose the Blueberry Mead and I selected the Midnight mead. The meads we chose were both mellow in flavor, not overly sweet, and really drinkable. The owners would engage with us to see if we enjoyed our selections and offered additional information as the discussion progressed. There was a gentleman offering tasty looking empanadas for sale the Saturday afternoon we were there. We will definitely be stopping by Batch Mead on a regular basis. read more

I give this place 3 stars because the pictures on face book make it seem alot more than it is. I was expecting something big, like other winery I've been too a big brewery but it was just a warehouse, hot stuffy. The ciders that they offered were pretty good great price $14 for four flights so that's four glasses of ciders to taste just taste, they are not filled all the way. They had these industrial fans blowing hot air, so kinda stuffy. A small seating area outside but wasn't comfortable due to hot summer weather. Make sure you order their meat sampler at reservation time online because they do not carry any food there. That is not specified online so when we got there we were unable to order It has to be ordered ahead of time. However the guy servicing us did come up and say that he had two complimentary bags of potato chips. Although thoughtful I thought it was kind of weird considering four of us made reservations and were only given two bags of potato chips?????. The place is small but cute. Limited merchandise to purchase like shirts and hats. Overall the price for a bottle was pretty cheap the overall cost is pretty cheap very affordable. We had a good time overall, we made the best of it And it was something new to try out but I definitely would not go back. read more

The staff at Batch Mead are very friendly, service is excellent, parking is easy, and they have a cool location. We did a Mead flight and every single one of the meads was extremely sweet, though. I've had other meads before that were not quite as sweet, so I know it's possible to make a moderate mead with pleasant flavor... maybe they will get there soon, assuming others have similar feedback and they tweak their recipe a bit. If all of the other patrons like how sweet everything is though, no need to listen to me I suppose, though. While I won't be back until they tweak their recipes, I still give them 4 stars because of how lovely they were in-person, and I can tell they have a lot of passion for their craft. :) read more

I found some of the barrel age stuff to be a little to exotic for my taste some I picked kind of conservatively. Tried their ciders and the the traditional mead and the strawberry shortcake mead. Ciders were solid and definitely worth trying out. There meads were spectacular. The strawberry shortcake was out of this world. I ended up buying a bottle. This place lives up to the reputation. Batch Mead is an exceptional little spot. To be honest, I'm a beer girl through and through but was recently introduced to mead and I love it! This meadery has the feel of a microbrewery, and I dig that. They have really cute (Instagram worthy) glasses for tastings. Now on to the mead itself-- I really enjoyed the 4 tasters I got. My favorite would probably have to be the pineapple one, with the blueberry being a close second. Not overly sweet, and overall great flavors. I also tried the winter solstice and I was very impressed with the nice spice notes that came through. On a different occasion I got to taste the coffee mead and I thought that it was very creative and well balanced. I would also like to add that the owners and staff are genuinely cool and you can tell that they put a lot of love into their craft. I had never heard of Mead before and my wife wanted to go to an event that was taking place at Batch Mead. Did a quick Google search and found out what the product was and it interested me. After an hour drive we got to the destination. The event was nice but the mead was delicious. It's located in an industrial area in Temecula. Nice tasting room with a nice bar. I was greeted by this young lady that was more than happy to talk to me about mead and the process. Of course me being a sponge for knowledge, I was eating it up. I didn't have any interest in the hard cider, I'll try that next time, but really interested in trying the mead. For those that don't know it is, for simplicity sake, a honey wine. They have several different flavors, mixed with various fruits and some are barrel aged to give them a different flavor. I tried 2 flights, 8 different samples of mead. All I can say is WOW, I have an issue with white/light colored wines due to the high acidity of the beverage. This was like drinking white wine without the acidity. I was amazed at the flavors. The fruit ones were nice and mild. The blueberry one was dry and it doesn't hit you till the end with the dryness and the Apple Pie has a great flavor and sweetness that stays on the tongue for quite a while. My favorites were the barrel aged Original flavor, pineapple rum and raspberry chocolate. The atmosphere is very friendly and the young lady I was speaking to was very knowledgeable of the product, I could seriously talk to her all night long if given the chance. After our flights I ended up buying 3 bottles of mead and heading home. I later found out that the person I was speaking to was one of the owners, which made a lot of sense.
