I've been apart of the…read moreRuane Clinical Research (Prep study) for over three years (on the same floor just down the hall) and have always received great care there and usually with/from the amazing Health Care Provider Kenny Trinidad, one of the sub-investigators who helps over see the study... naturally I choose him to be my primary care physician having built a rapport over the years as a clinic patient. I couldn't be happier with the care I receive from him and all the staff. Kenny is a very kind empathetic and genuine person... his energy and demeanor are very open and relaxed. He gives you 100% of his attention and expertise, but also keeps it light and fun. I'm still getting to know a lot of staff on this end of the Ruane Medical family, but truly appreciate all the nurses, physicians and admin staff as no beat goes missed for any here. I was able to renew/refill my bp medication and even have a more regulated vitamin d level thanks to Kenny. The parking is pretty solid and just next to the building off a closed-off non-through street... Genesee Ave... which makes for an easy in and sometimes an easy out... though as most know the intersections off Olympic near Fairfax stay quite busy throughout the day. The wait room inside the office is very peaceful with lots of earth and neutral tones in case you're one of those people who gets unnerved by doctor's visits. Checking in is just as smooth and quick as checking out. You're always in exceptional care here from start to finish.

I had been hospitalized twice at a psych-ward already and had just recently given up on rehab. I had a terrible relationship with my parents and was basically failing college. I had no support system. I was not taking my meds consistently and could never fully open up to any therapists or psychiatrists. I genuinely loathed all parts of my life. I didn't want to live it and I was on the verge of giving up. This is when I met Dimitrios. Fast forward 2 years, this is how I am now. I'm happy (never thought I would say this). I sorta like my life now and am slowly working up to loving it. I'm taking my medication consistently, meeting with my psychiatrist and therapist consistently and even working out consistently (again, never thought I would say this!). I have a terrific support system with clear boundaries. I graduated college with honors. I feel loved and cared for by people in my life, and sometimes even myself. Of course this didn't happen in a blink of an eye. It took work. Real work. 2 years worth of real, hard work. But, with Dimitrios, it wasn't all that bad. Here are some of his best qualities: - He knows what it's like to be an immigrant or an international student in this country. - It's easy to open up to him because he's a compassionate, active listener who honestly never forgets a thing (he would remember things I said in past sessions that I don't even remember saying). - He teaches you real-life skills such as: setting boundaries, tracking cognitive distortions, understanding and tracking emotions, combating negative thoughts, creating a solid support system, processing difficult trauma using EMDR, etc. - This man is full of wisdom. He would say things like "everything in moderation," "you can say anything you want with the right tone and timing," "good friendship has the following three things: consistency, positivity, vulnerability" and this is just off the top of my head. - He high-fives you through the screen. - He is understanding, patient, and personable. Most importantly, he taught me that I am not fragile. That I am resilient and strong. Even if I fall again, I'm confident that I'll get right back up. In the words of LE SSERAFIM (or, you know, the Little Women lady), "I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship." 10 out of 10 would recommend.

He certainly specializes in gambling addiction, but he is well-attuned to focusing on a variety of other issues, and was adaptable in his approach with me as we got to know each other better over the course of almost 2 years of therapy. As the reviewer below mentions, Dr. Geffner makes himself available at times when most therapists wouldn't. I have been able to contact him during personal emergencies, and while this is not something I have tried to abuse, more often than not he has picked up his phone and made himself available without prior appointment. That level of empathy has made all the difference, and I highly recommend Eric on the basis of his professionalism, and humanity.

Did a quick yelp search and saw nothing but positive reviews and that was enough for me to schedule an appointment. From the second I opened the office door, I was welcomed by two wonderful ladies who helped me get signed in and set up. Not only were they super friendly at 10 AM, but they made an effort to make me feel comfortable and answer all my questions. 5 mins after arriving Dr. Olmscheid greeted me and took me into his office. This was not like any other doctor visit I've ever had before. He was so warm, CARING and he listened to every word I said. I honestly forgot I was in a doctor's office until it was time to check my blood pressure. Normally I'm a little nervous when I'm at the doctors so my blood pressure is usually a little higher than at home when I check it. Surprisingly, it was much lower than normal and I'm certain it was a result of how relaxed Dr. Olmscheid and his team made me feel. If you're looking for a doctor that cares, and is knowledgeable, I highly recommend Dr. Olmscheid.
