They listened to the patient, offered some surprise conveniences such as a blanket, and performed the work of pulling a rear tooth as a highly gifted team. The patient stated she felt nothing including the injection. Later that evening the doctor called to see how the patient was doing. Now it's a day later - no pain. We highly recommend him.

They did some X-rays and exam and determined there was an infection causing the pain. Due to the condition of the tooth and previous root canal, they gave me referrals to several oral surgeons within the area and told me to get quotes. I pay my dentist out of pocket so I believe she wanted me to compare to ensure I was getting a fair estimate. My journey with Akeso (also listed as Apex) in Columbia starts on Monday (January 5th). They were one of the referrals I received and I later found out a relative went there for an extraction and dental implant. She even did a testimony video for their website. I called to inquire about prices and the process in scheduling an emergency extraction. The person I spoke to was Jenny. She told me I had to have a consultation first and gave me a price. I then asked her the range of how much a tooth extraction can cost. She gave me a price range and suggested using Cherry to finance my treatment plan. I was appreciative because although I was prepared to pay full price for the treatment, paying in installments would be more convenient. I never heard of Cherry before so I told her I would research Cherry and call back. I did research and Cherry seemed reputable and wasn't charging interest for some payment plans, so I kept them in mind. I then called the other referrals provided by my dentist to get quotes on how much the extraction would be. Some were more expensive and two were cheaper. The cheaper surgeons would require full payment, however--so I pondered on whether or not I should just pay the full amount for a cheaper amount or do installments with Akeso. Since my relative had a decent experience, I went with Akeso. I called back to schedule but instead of going to the office in Columbia, it went to their operator. It was close to their closing time, so I didn't fault them for not answering. I gave the operator my information--including the location I wanted the procedure done at and of course my demographics. She told me that she would forward my information to the Columbia office to reach back out to me in order to schedule my appointment--and it could take 24-48 hours. After hearing how long it could take for someone to call me back, I intended to call the office again in the morning. 1/6/2026 - I called the Columbia office again, however, I think I was patched over to the Nottingham office. Melissa answered and I explained to her I spoke to Jenny (Columbia) about having an extraction done and the prices I was quoted. She confirmed. I then told her how Jenny suggested Cherry to me and I was approved--and asked if the consultation fee could be added to the cost of the procedure or if I had to pay separate for it. She told me she had to send a message to the Columbia location to verify. As we waited for a response, she said she wanted to check the system to see if any of my information was there from when I spoke to the operator and it wasn't. So I gave her all the information all over again. By the time I finished giving her all the information, she received a response back. The Columbia location verified they can add the consult fee to the total amount billed to Cherry. We then scheduled for me to go in the office the next day for consult. She told me she was going to send a link and I needed to fill out my medical history, sign consent forms and. sed a copy of my referral and X-rays. I asked which provider I was going to see and she informed me it would be Dr. Lazer. After the call, I filled out the online and forms and submitted them. I also sent a copy of my X-rays and referral to the email address they instructed me to send them to. 1/7/2026 - My appointment was for 9:30am. I arrived at 9:27am. The outside of the facility looks very plain but the inside was more modern. It was clean and I saw one other (potential) patient, in the waiting room. I was immediately greeted by Selena. I met her at the front desk to check in and confirm my details. We discussed briefly what I was there for and she proceeded to collect the consult fee upfront. I mentioned how I spoke to Melissa the day prior and inquired about if the consult fee could be added to the total plan amount with Cherry and it was verified by message that I could. Selena confirmed it was true and said they would update everything and send it to Cherry when I make my downpayment. She then gestured for me to wait in the waiting room to be called back into the exam room. The exam room was spacious, with one other person. I didn't have to wait long to be called back. The medical (?) assistant called me back to a room and briefly went over my medical history and asked if I was experiencing any pain. After my consultation, I was impressed with the newest techniques and procedures he described that would be utilized to make a replacement. There was incentive for paying in full, but certainly other financial arrangements could be made. Let me say, with no reservations, Dr. Haywood is a caring, cosmetic surgeon with a great dental chair manner. His staff is friendly, efficient and my appointments were made to blend with my work schedule. The office and dental rooms are pristine. I felt completely comfortable during the procedures. Some may call it a small job but to me it was huge. I had my work done by a maxillofacial, oral surgeon by the name of Bernard Ian Krupp,DDS at the Krupp Center. I must say walking in I was fine and they made me feel very secure and trusting in them. However, once I sat in the chair the gitters started to kick in; the nurse knew it when I asked to use the bathroom. She said "hurry back and don't run out on us". ahhahahaahhahaha! It was so ironic because that is exactly what I was thinking almost like she was reading my mind. Just as well I know I wasnt the only one who has been like this. After the restroom i sat back down nervouslly. Once she place the mask on my face for sedation, I started to become more relaxed of coarse. Almost like I had a couple shots of vodka, lol. Oddly enough I never felt like I went to sleep, when I woke up I said to the surgeon "when am I suppose to fall asleep"? He started laughin and says, "were done Mr. Stephens". Well once it was over I felt so relieved that it was done and the process was successful. I have been following all the rules that the surgeon have set for me and the healing is coming along very well. Oddly, I have not had any swelling, which may be due to the amount of ice I have had on my face. Secondly, I have codeine, amoxicillin and ibuprofen that I have been taken. Ironically, with all these medications I'm taking I still feel normal; even after the surgery I was walking and talking regular. I just would like to say the Krupp Center is highly recommended not just by me but from other reviews. The dentist I visited prior to the Krupp Center informed me that they would have to break my jaw bone to remove the teeth because of how impacted it was (they were literally facing horizontal). The Krupp Center didnt take more than 30mins for the surgery and they didnt have to break my jaw bone. So if you or anyone you know needs to have their wisdom teeth removed inform them to take a look at the Krupp Center.

I asked the white receptionist for information about how to do that, and she patronized me. She ignored everything I had to say. Instead, she talked about discounts on dental treatment and about purchasing dental insurance through my employer. A second white lady had to step in. She also was useless in explaining how to get dental insurance. I had a simple question: How do I get dental insurance? This company failed to answer that, and instead fed me lies. I walked away disappointed because I had enough of their wasting my time.
