Came here while doing a road trip from Georgia to California, so stopped here for gas and check out the restaurant. I really liked that they had a free photoshoot with Santa because you do not see anyone offer service like anymore. So, thankful for that opportunity available because many happy families in line to get a cute photo that they can keep as a memory. The reason for the low rating is because no greeting of "Merry Christmas" even though we acknowledged the greeters first with an introduction. Everyone else got one, but not us. And when in line, there was an obvious division between the others and me. I felt like I was not wanted there...like an annoyance or disappointment to be around. I really enjoyed my visit to Bass Pro Shops in Leeds, AL to purchase a new fishing rod. Immediately upon entering I was greeted by a kind representative that kindly pointed me in the direction to the fishing department. Once in that area another worker patiently provided insight into good beginner rods. I was informed that I could test out the rod for up to 60 days and if I didn't like it I could bring it back. Thankfully I used it today and will not be bringing it back because I really like my Ugly Stik! They also provide some free fishing line with purchase of a rod. The store is clean and well lit and the same goes for the parking lot. Check out was a breeze as I didn't have wait long and the checkout clerk was really sweet. Whew! This store is huge! My first time at Bass pro was a few weeks ago on a Saturday. I was in the area so was like , what the heck! Walked in and was immediately asked about opening a credit card. I declined. I think the guy was not happy with my response. His issue. Not mine. I browsed and browsed and browsed. I was wore out! My mom was too! I bought a hat and some licorice. Yep, that's it! Decent size store, been to several and its really no different except for the Pyramid in Memphis. Only issue I had was at the gun counter. 3 people standing at end of counter while one guy helped a customer with a FFL form. Placard said to scan the code enter my info and Id be given a number to be helped....really? 1st off, Im not there to make your job easier. Customer service is just that...service. So of course I didnt scan the code, and I got no help or attention. Congrats, you lost a $1400 .00 sale to a shop in Birmingham area because I needed to scan a code when there were no customers around. Used guns were really high, actually 3 were higher than retail on other sites, even after shipping and transfer fee. After a 45 min drive, I think Ill stay on my side of town with Simmons. read more

This is a solid Bass Pro! We stopped in when in the area and were looking at some new camping things. We are searching for a new tent but always find ourselves looking in every aspect of the store because there is so much to look at!! We were greeted warmly when we walked in and made our way to the camping section. They have a good selection here and everything was neatly organized. They had a few sleeping cots displayed and we actually really liked both of them. Too bad we just bought some but good to know. I liked their variety of dehydrated camping food here and didn't know they had so many types! Aside from all of their camping items, they have everything you could want for any outdoor activity really. Their shoe selection was surprising and I actually bought a pair of crocs ha! I've always loved BPS! This location is great with the exception of the lighting. The lighting here is very dim and makes for an almost gloomy experience. I don't like that at all. There were several shelves in the archery department that needed some attention. They had one person at the archery counter and he was busting his butt to help the customers. CONSTANT PUSH TO GET A BASS PRO SHOP CREDIT CARD every time you make eye contact with an employee. Coffee/snack bar is abysmal. The coffee came from a coffee machine. It is a large he store. They do have seating available and I have had to utilize seating to rest before I could get to where I needed to go and return to leave. I don't typically enjoy coming here very often, but I needed new camo pants and they had a good Black Friday sale. I felt the place was overcrowded and the majority of customers would walk in with masks and then immediately take them off once inside. We actually thought we were going the wrong way! Once you finally get there, the parking lot is huge! Since it was Black Friday, there were some awesome deals...hoodies and jeans for ten bucks! We came out with two bags full of stuff. We bought two cans of peanuts. I loved the jalapeno ones. The store is huge with large women's and men's sections, plus kids sections. The upstairs has a big gun area. There is also a food section with tons of stuff for purchase to eat there or take home. If you go to Barber, leave time for a visit here! read more

I was looking to surprise a love one with an thoughtful present for an accomplishment. He's a sportsman so I was sure I could find a gift or two here. There were two female people at the host's table that failed to give me any assistance on how to enter through the inter-gate. It was obvious I was standing there completely out of my element. I made it in nonetheless and three people entered from outside right behind me. I was shocked at the difference in their treatment by the hosts?! They were greeted, told it was not necessary to use the turnstile and then offered credit card deals. They were actually invited to their welcome table! I stood there speechless. Hmm it seems their prejudice against people like me made them immediately deny me their normal behavior. I have no idea why? They prejudged me and I came up unworthy. Maybe it's people that are curvy, female, nicely dressed (not wearing designer labels OUTSIDE my clothes), not wearing either of the state's popular team colors, older, shopping alone, ...I don't know why but it was very obvious there was something lacking. They failed to welcome me to the store, ask me if I need assistance plus decided not to offer me a credit application as they had customers before and after me. As a extremely successful salesperson, trainer and Account Executive, there's one rule I owe my many awards. Never Prejudge ANYONE! Don't count people's coins on appearance, race, age or gender, their car, speech patterns or anything else! I've gotten several sales from clients that were ignored by my coworkers not following that rule. Those two females looked at me and discounted me for some reason(s). I walked to the back and looked at the fish while debating if I was going to ignore their obvious slight, address it directly with the two employees or be a "Karen" and ask for a manager? I decided not to allow those idiots spoil my day and to take my money elsewhere. Besides my beautiful nature coif didn't fit the requirements to be a "Karen". At that point there wasn't anything I wanted in the store, not at ANY price. So I turned to exit the almost empty dimly lit store only to see I was being followed by the store's lost prevention staff. There were several groups of young people shopping, talking and running around being silly but somehow the mature, solo women with cash, credit cards and the ability to get enough credit on the spot to buy whatever I wanted was being followed? Lol! They don't EVER have to worry about me darkening their door steps again. Neither of the "hosts" bothered to offer me a "come again" as I exited the store either. That pleasantry they sweetly offered to others as they left the store. I don't know exactly what it was about me, but I won't review THAT store again because I won't be back. The next time there's one in any city I'm visiting, I'm going to see if I get better treatment there? **I noticed their wasn't any other person of my ethnicity in the store, neither shopping nor working on that raining afternoon. But I am not assuming that is the reason for my miss-treatment. It might be, it might be any other reason. The point is no customer should be so obviously treated differently. If you have ever been to Field and Stream, Dicks, Marks Outdoor and haven't made your way to Bass Pro, you should check it out! Bas Pro is seriously all of these stores on steroids. The drive into the store is unlike any store I have ever been to. They have a long one lane road through a forested area with ponds and bridges to get to the actual store. Massive is the best word to describe the store at first glance. Once you get inside it's no different. They have clothes, sunglasses, kayaking, fishing...fishing...fishing.....and more fishing supplies. I have never seen so much fishing related things in one place. Large area is also dedicated to boats. When you go upstairs they have everything hunting related guns, archery, packs, ammo, etc. Very busy store with a very crowded parking lot. Really the only down spot is that the while time I was in the store I was never approached by a Bass Pro employee. Otherwise, if you are looking for an outdoors superstore, look no further. I needed a backpack or a duffel bag. While going into the store several employees greeted me. I started to look around and figured I needed to go upstairs to find what I was looking for. Another employee asked if I needed some help as I'm sure I was looking overwhelmed by all the stuff they had. After explaining what I was looking for he advised me where to looked and showed me the section that was upstairs. He latter came to check on me and told me there were another selection downstairs in the camping area. Bass Pro Shops is kindof like the Target of outdoors stores: it is way more upscale than Wal-Mart, but still maintains that "everyday America" vibe. For me, it's worth the trip when I need to restock my shelves with sun-proof clothing - being a redhead has its downside when the sun shines - because BPS has an excellent range of brands and styles that all pack a major sunblocking punch. Otherwise, I might stop in for a gift for my dad, uncle, or cousin, or to run lake-related errands for my parents, or to be the cool girlfriend that takes her boyfriend to Bass Pro Shops on a Sunday afternoon. From the waterfall and aquarium to the floor full of hunting paraphernalia and insane array of fishing gear, this store is an ode to all things great and outdoorsy. And, it provides excellent people watching - all kinds of kinds show up to BPS on a daily basis and you kind of owe it to yourself to go if you're like me and you enjoy airport terminals (seriously- who doesn't find making up stories in your head about various strangers vastly entertaining?). If you've never been to a BPS you should just to see the indoor scenery. They're a bit pricey but have a good selection of fishing supplies. We don't camp much but I enjoy checking out the ridiculous things people will buy to 'luxury' camp. Really they have a little bit of everything you need to be outdoorsy. Tracker boats in Garland Texas has the worst service department ever. My boat has been there for four months now waiting on pontoon fences which I understand it takes two months to build but what about the other two months? Every time I call somebody tells me something different. Just got a phone call today asking if I was satisfied with my boat been done,they haven't done anything to my boat. I went and picked it up from memorial day weekend and they told me to keep it until they're ready for me. Now that I get done. read more

This is not about the store, it's about online purchasing and their customer service afterwards. I bought three items. Nothing special or fancy. On the shelf type items. I used a $10 off coupon when spending over $40. Two hours later, I got an email stating they canceled one of my orders with no explanation why. My order was still well over $40. Yet, when they readjusted the cost, they removed it. I tried calling, spent an hour on hold before I finally gave up. Emailed them, no return email. A couple of days later, I tried the chat feature through their website, after waiting to be connected about 20 minutes each time for three times, they kept disconnecting me. I have 300Mbps Internet btw, so not on my end. Then the next day, I got another order update stating another item was on backorder and delayed. Finally, 4 days after my initial order I tried calling again, after a 30 minute hold someone finally answered. She was very nice and answered my questions, adjusted my order price. I would give her 5 stars. The technology, email responses and amount of people they have working is inexcusable. I don't mind the store, even if it is redneck hell. This is one fine store! I have been to several Bass Pro Shops, and this is certainly one of the coolest. The place is absolutely huge! There's all kinds of things to look at, it's really easy to just walk around the place all day looking at all the outdoors-y stuff. They have just about everything you could think of and then some.
