I never realized there was a Baskin Robins in Kensington until last night! I was incredibly sad when the location in Layhill Shopping Center closed down since it was closest to my house, but I'm so glad I checked out Yelp to find this location! The store front is wedged between a small food shop and 7-11. To be honest, it's quite dark and looks a bit shady in the parking lot. I was skeptical of actually leaving my car at first but I went for it anyways (the things you do for ice cream.) I went around 8 PM last night to purchase a Chocolate chip, Full Sheet Cake (feeds 16 - 24 people) priced at $47.99. There honestly wasn't many options so I was a bit disappointed. The handwriting on the cake could use some work as well, but again Baskin Robbins never truly disappoints me in terms of flavor and taste. Customer service is excellent and everyone here is very friendly and outgoing. It was reasonably busy until around 8:30 PM was when the store was entirely filled with customers. Will definitely be returning this summer for those late night ice cream cravings! read more

I have lived in the area for a long time. This place has existed longer than I like to admit. In a good way. I have been here several times over the past year and the customer service has been friendly, patient, and very helpful. The selection of cakes in their freezer is far better than most within a 10 mile radius. They look fresh and no freezer burn. You can also get clown cones, very cute for the kids or kids at heart. Me! Guilty. They keep this store very clean and as busy as it gets that is impressive. If you see a line, just wait, they are very good at getting you in and and out with a nicely put together cone, cup, sundae, etc. The finished product looks like the picture. Thankfully. Their is minimal seating inside if you want to eat in. I recommend to come on in and cool off! My favorite is 2 scoop fudge sundae. 1 scoop of jamoca almond fudge and 1 mint chocolate chip. I've never had issues with lines or crowds at this BR, and the store is usually empty when I'm in. Today I waited a few minutes, deciding on my order, and did watch a few other people come and go--so there are signs of life! The ice cream is solid, quality BR and the store is clean, but the last two times I've felt like I was troubling the staff by just being there. In fact, I thought that they might close at 9pm given how brusquely they interacted with customers and how close it was to 9pm (they actually close at 10pm). When they weren't actively filling orders, they were silently wiping down countertops and just didn't give off a friendly or inviting vibe. I don't come to BR to hang out or relax. This place is a hidden gem! Doesn't Look like much from the street, but it is so clean inside and the staff is so genuinely friendly. After going to a DD/BR combo store and finding out that you can't order from the complete Baskin Robbins catalog at a combo store, I went to the BR location in Kensington where I was able to place an order for the specific ice cream cake I was looking for - the Chocolate Indulgence. The folks behind the counter were very helpful in taking my order and letting me know what my options were and, less than 24 hours later, the cake was ready for pick-up. When I went to pick up the cake, the lady helping me opened up the box and asked me to take a look at the cake, to make sure it was to my liking, and indeed it was. Ice Cream selection is always great for Baskin Robbins. This is a small location but it produces and while it may have long lines at times it never really has been a good or bad experience for me. Prices are fair and staff is friendly, well for the most part. I know the Store Manager can come off a bit rude, he argues over coupons rather than explaining in a polite manner what the limitations and exceptions are. In my last check in I did witness this scenario which made me rate this place differently. Has not been the first time I have overheard him get moderately loud with a customer. Loud doesn't mean you're right, it just makes you look bad and creates a negative experience for the customers. read more

A week ago i was ordering a birthday cake online from the Kensington location and my card was charged 3 times for an order i never received, In fact, the order never went thought. While it is a Baskin store, the customer service is not the quality that some of the other stores offer. From my undersized double-scoop to my husband's watered-down milkshake to the staffers reloading the ice cream freezer while we are sitting nearby eating our ice cream, we will be stopping at other stores for the same product in a better environment. read more

Pretty good store to go to aside from how small it is. What I like to get here is smoothies and fruit flavored ice creams. The staff were very nice and friendly and they accept my coupons too.
