I highly recomend Mountain America Credit Union for Home and Auto, for loans and mortages. They will do all of the grounbd work for you , from a list of 11 different agencies like Farmers , Then all this happened #Sean Clark - State Farm Insurance Agent / I had a very disappointing experience with this agency regarding my antique Toyota Winnebago combination. The vehicle is in excellent condition, primarily used for parades and auto shows, and I have a completely clean driving record -- no accidents, no violations. I drive conservatively and take pride in maintaining both my record and my vehicles. Because of that spotless record, I always seek the lowest reasonable rate. In my experience, insurance companies often promote attractive pricing and then look for reasons to increase the premium after the fact. That's why accuracy and transparency matter to me from the beginning. When I came in to insure the vehicle, it was entered as a Toyota pickup and coverage was quickly bound while I was outside taking photos to email them. I paid for six months in full upfront. After I paid, underwriting cancelled the policy because the VIN classified it as a motorhome. This likely would have been clear had the agency waited to properly review the photos and confirm the vehicle type before finalizing the policy. Under Utah law, insurers are generally required to provide advance written notice before cancelling a policy -- typically 30 days for most underwriting cancellations and 10 days for nonpayment situations. At the same time, registered vehicles in Utah are required to maintain continuous insurance coverage. There is no broad automatic grace period that protects a customer once a cancellation becomes effective. Because of that, accuracy at the point of binding coverage is critical. Administrative haste can expose a customer to compliance risk through no fault of their own. Compounding the issue, although I paid in full by card for six months of coverage, the refund was not returned to my card automatically. Instead, a check was issued and mailed. That creates unnecessary delay and inconvenience, especially when a cancellation was initiated by underwriting rather than by me. I am currently out of state and not physically in Utah to walk into another office and secure replacement coverage in person. Purchasing insurance over the phone or online is common practice with most major carriers, which makes clear communication and proper classification even more important. I also own my home outright and owe nothing to any bank or lender. Any implied suggestion that I should "just insure it in California" as if I am not welcome in my own home state was inappropriate and unprofessional. I expect respect and professionalism, especially given my record and my responsible ownership history. Communication throughout this process was reactive rather than proactive. I received cancellation notice only after underwriting acted, instead of being contacted beforehand to correct the classification and properly issue an RV policy. Due to the seriousness of the situation and the compliance risk created, I am filing a formal complaint with the appropriate regulatory authority to ensure this matter is reviewed properly. I value professionalism, careful underwriting, and clear communication. I strongly encourage anyone insuring an antique, RV, or specialty vehicle to ensure the VIN classification is thoroughly reviewed before payment is accepted. Best Overall & Most Affordable Progressive - Often ranked best overall RV insurance company with options for liability-only as low as ~$125/yr and bundles with other policies.
