They have some great menu choices. I used them for the first time a few weeks ago & went over very well w/ my colleagues. They have a nice variety for lunch & are veg-friendly which gives them an extra star in my book. read more

Love these people! I used them for a mid sized meeting yesterday and they were awesome yet again.

We've done Basil Tree a few times for events in our office and they do a great job every time. We've customized the menu - which is easy to do because they have a million selections - and they give great advice on portions and what goes well with what. Really accommodating of people's dietary needs and allergies, too, they're very careful with labeling and ingredients so you always know what's safe. read more

Great corporate catering. Really easy ordering with flexibility for changes. The delivery was on time and helped to unpack the order. Small cards described the entrees which really helps. Glad we used Basil Tree. read more

Since my first review, I've done another office lunch and (yesterday) a phenomenal early in-office dinner, and I really can't say enough good things about Basil Tree. The food is so wonderful - high quality ingredients, tons of healthy options, and no fillers. Delivery yesterday was on time, despite being the end of business in the financial district - that almost never happens here, and it is so appreciated! read more

I've been using Basil Tree to cater meetings at work for about 4 years and have never once been disappointed by anything they made. They're also always on time and friendly. Some great things I've ordered over and over: Int'l Fruit and Cheese Platter Greek Appetizer Platter Mozz and Tomato Sandwich The Vermonter Sandwich Assorted Breakfast Pastries Scrambled Eggs (** tried recently and everyone was blown away) Coffee (somehow the coffee is still hot after going from Somerville to Longwood) read more

What a lovely concept! Fresh, well-executed (and delicious) catering! We attended an event catered by Basil Tree this summer, and everything looked and tasted amazing. Even the kids found something to enjoy. We've also received Basil Tree peppermint bark and granola as gifts - While we're not "sweets" people in general, these two goodies are instantly devoured. Highly recommended! read more

LOVED this food so much!! I was attending a LEAN training in Boston and we had breakfast & lunch catered by this company. I couldn't get enough of the food - best catering I've ever had. I am dairy free so I sometimes struggle with catered meals - they were super inclusive writing "dairy free" or "gluten free" on labels which allowed me to relax and enjoy my meal. I even took some extra for leftovers - it was that good! read more

Basil Tree is the most accommodating, convenient, and tasty catering service our company has worked with. Some highlights of their services are their options for various dietary restrictions, and their willingness to deliver straight to our Boston office. Most importantly, their house-made granola is to die for! read more

I use Basil Tree all the time! We love it! I am especially a fan of the gluten free products, one of the only catering companies who offers gluten free bread!! The gluten free brownies were delicious (which I no longer get :() and the ginger cookies are nice and moist! But I am more of a chocolate person1 The gluten free breakfast pumpkin raisin muffin is delicious! It's a bit sweet though, so one a month is plenty. The vegetable quiches got great reviews and were devoured this morning in the meeting! The fruit salad was fresh, as always! The staff is so so so super friendly ! I love that they use recyclable products too! The coffee was strong and fresh, as always! My only advice - Please offer more gluten free options! read more

Basil tree catered my sweet 16, 6 years ago, and I still talk about how amazing it was! I crave the sandwich platter almost every day.

Love their food and equally impressed with their customer service! We have a monthly lunch for 300 people at the university I work at. When plans with another caterer fell through about two weeks before the event, I got in touch with Basil Tree and they were fantastic. Josh K. went through a few different options with me for food and even provided me with three different quotes so I could compare serving sizes, prices, etc. in order to pick the best option for our group. He got me these quotes about two minutes after we got off the phone. Leading up to the event, he was very responsive via e-mail about any additional questions and modifications to the order. The delivery guys were friendly and helped us set up the sandwich platters, also checked in with us before they left to see if we needed anything else. One other wonderful thing is that they give you a bin to collect the platter trays that hold the sandwiches so they can pick them up the next business day. Then they sanitize and reuse them. They are definitely committed to sustainability. Very impressed, and would definitely order from them again. read more

I ordered Basil Tree for several work events and the food is fantastic. It is by far the best luncheon caterer in the Harvard Square area. Prompt, reasonable, environmentally conscience and most importantly customer focused. I love, love, love Basil Tree Catering! read more

I have just learned about Basil Tree Caterers and tried them for the first time. What a great selection of food that can accomodate the vegan, the gluten free, and just the plain picky. What an interesting twist for a menu for the workplace - definately better than the usual sandwich. I also love the fact that Basil Tree is green is pretty much every way possible. I highly recommend them. My favorite might be the turkey on cranberry bread with apple slices coupled with the sweet potato salad -- YUMMM read more

Basil tree is a bit pricey, but it's really worth it. They accommodate dietary needs, and personalize your order as much as you need them to. They have great food, great sized portions, and unique desserts. They also have excellent customer service and prompt delivery, not to mention, they're sustainable and local! Five Stars for Basil Tree! read more

Used these guys for two events in one day and both orders were on-time, correct, and delicious. When you're responsible for feeding hungry bigwigs, it's a big relief to have everyone be happy with the food. The staff I spoke to and the delivery guys were really nice, too. We don't get tons of things catered but I'll definitely be calling Basil Tree again when we do. Thanks! read more

Basil tree had fantastic customer service, arrived on time to the Seaport District, was very professional, and tasty! We ordered the Asian Delight meal for our grand finale event and everyone loved it. I can't stress how fantastic the staff were. When ordering catering, the customer service, timeliness, even providing the correct receipt are key, and Basil Tree had it down. Happy to recommend them! read more

We recently placed an order with Basil Tree to cater a meeting and it was fantastic. More than enough treats and coffee for our group, and the variety and quality was great. The feta/tomato frittata was especially delicious, and we got a lot of compliments. Basil Tree is my favorite caterer, and I cater multiple meetings (around 6-14 people) per month. The customer service is excellent! The online order form is easy. The food is delicious (I'll cater for the same group of people and they'll always ask, "OMG where did you order from this time?" And I reply, "it's Basil Tree! Always Basil Tree! :)" Plus, you can feel good about the food you're eating because their company is committed to Earth friendly practices. Our department's orders, whether they've been breakfast or lunch, have always been fresh, well prepared, and nicely presented after being delivered on time. Our staff considers the Basil Tree-catered events to be real treats and these delicious meals are anticipated with pleasure. This is such a wonderful company. They are bringing the concept of low to zero-waste to catering and it works so well! There is no guilt of having a million plastic utensils delivered along with the food and if you do need utensils provided, they are all compostable! I coordinate a weekly conference at work of approx. 25-35 people. After 2 years we were good and tired of our previous caterer. I'd used Basil Tree for a few smaller meetings and got great responses from the attendants. This year I changed our caterer to Basil Tree for the weekly conference and every week I hear something good about the sandwich. The taste, the variety, the portion size, it is all good. And the cookies are delicious. There were a few hiccups the first month but Josh worked with me and the drivers to get it sorted out and now it is all good. Josh has been a real pleasure to work with on the orders and sorting out those few issues in the beginning. Because of the great service and the quality of the food, I will use Basil Tree for the remainder of the year. If I were in the cafe location I would stop in and grab a sandwich or try something else on the menu. I fully recommend Basil Tree Catering & Cafe. read more

Stopped by for an early Vermonter. It ingeniously avoids the soggy bread problem afflicting most pre-made sandwhich featuring cranberry sauce, by actually baking the cranberries into the bread. Scrumptious! Wish I could buy this bread! 8) read more

As an event planner, I am constantly working with different catering companies in the area and around Boston. Basil Tree is definitely up in the top 5 of my absolute favorites. I usually get their boxed lunches. Their food is delicious, packaged clearly with a label in a paper, green-friendly but sturdy box, with paper goods. I can't say it enough; Basil Tree has the best customer service I have ever experienced. With each order, they show their sincere appreciation to their customers. The staff is very friendly. They are impressively ALWAYS on time (we order from them once a month for about 30 people). Each order comes with a complementary sandwich and cookie for the person ordering the food (in case they are not ordering for themselves). Basil Tree's commitment to the environment is also impressive. The food is delicious and always fresh and well made, but what really keeps me coming back to them is their amazing service.
