My family had a nice dinner at this (sort of) fast, casual spot. Bonus points for there not being a long line. The menu has a nice variety of items. The portions are generous. The prices reasonable. Order at the counter. Then sit down and they bring the food to you. We didn't wait long for the food. This place really hit the spot.

We decided to try Basco's strictly based off past reviews. We got the fish and chips, kids burger, and the burger special of the day along with a small side of coleslaw and two soft drinks. Price $65. A tad bit expensive. All the food was great. Fish was hot and tasty. Burger special was one of the best I've had. Coleslaw was just right. Cashier was friendly but not to friendly. Ambiance was cozy. For a once in awhile stop it's worth the visit. Just a bit pricey.

Went here because nothing was really open down the cape. We walked into the restaurant and were not greeted by the lady at the front desk. We asked of we could sit anywhere. The lady, short brown hair classes older, told us in a condensing voice you order here. We ordered Fish and chips and the smashed avocado salad. Service time was pretty quick. We watched while we waited for food. The cashier, lady who took our order was rude to another gentleman who came in asking for a job for her daughter. She answered NO!! The guy tried to justify his question saying that his daughter was 14 years old and maybe that was too young to work. The cashier explained it was the winter and they barely had any customers. I read that other people had issues with other races. My wife is Hispanic, every other person was of caucasian race cashier was reasonably nice but never smiled or looked thrilled to be there. Just before we finished our food a younger worker took over the cashier position. My wife went to use the bathroom and I asked the new cashier is that lady the owner. She responded no just someone that's worked here for a while. I responded well she need to leave.

Friendly service and reasonably well kept place, conveniently located. However, I found the food, a little bit unimpressive, more filled with fries, and less with flavor or meat. For the price, the portions look good sized, but are mostly filled with cheaper, mass produced stuff. It missed the boat on seafood for which you go to a place like this in New England. The clam chowder had little seafood and more potato pieces, and the lobster roll could have used more lobster meat. Probably, not the kind of a place I would visit again.

Quaint. Tasty. Very friendly. The chowder was quite good too. I was very full once all was said and done.

They were not stingy. The burgers were a great size and the fries were very crunchy and good. Filled me up nicely.

    Do they serve beer/wine?

I don't think so. Counter service operation, I don't recall seeing any alcoholic beverage options

Local Break is an American restaurant and bar that opened in Eastham, Massachusetts in May 2012. It…read morewas founded by Mackenzie Gallant. After graduating from high school, he realized the difficulties of finding success on the Cape so he decided to enroll at Hartwick College in upstate New York. Gallant soon became homesick and decided to move right back to the Cape after graduating. He had worked in the restaurant business since he was 14: starting out as a dishwater and eventually moving into management positions. He soon realized that the only way that he would be successful in this industry was if he was his own boss. He found a restaurant space in North Eastham that was previously home to Rick's Outer Bar and completely remodeled it. All of the dishes on Local Break's menu are crafted with fresh, local ingredients. The bar also has an impressive list of local craft beers on tap. Unlike many Cape Cod restaurants that close down during the colder months, Local Break is open year-round. My extended family and I visited Local Break this past August during our week-long trip to the Cape. The restaurant was right down the street from our Airbnb and we had heard good things. We enjoyed the nautical decor and the staff were friendly and helpful. For cocktails, my wife had the "Strawberry Peach Lemonade" (Deep Eddy peach vodka, strawberry purée, lemonade, fresh lemon) and I had the "Woodford Reserve Maple Old Fashion" (muddled cherry, orange, maple simple syrup, Angostura bitters, Woodford Reserve Bourbon, splash of water, ice). Both were very flavorful! Among our whole party, the entrees we ordered were the "Pulled BBQ Chicken Sandwich" (pulled baked BBQ chicken served on a Kaiser roll, topped with fried onion rings and coleslaw), the "Romesco Fish Sandwich" (fried cod with house made Romesco sauce, lettuce, pickles), the "Hot Chicken Sandwich" (crispy fried chicken thigh, sweet pickles, house made coleslaw, brown sugar-hot sauce, Kaiser bun), the "Po' Boy" (beer battered fried shrimp, baby greens, tomato, chili garlic mayo, baguettini) and the "Kid's Tenders". Everyone really liked their food! I really liked my Po' Boy which went great with some sweet potato fries and Cajun maple dipping sauce! We would definitely stop at Local Break again on a future trip to the Cape!

Service was great. One complaint is the price-- I guess this is an issue everywhere these days, but everything on the menu just seemed a little too pricey. Still a great stop!!

They have a line for ordering and a line for paying. But they don't let you pay until your sandwich is done. So when it's busy what happens is your sandwich is done and then you have to get in a long line and wait when you could've been paid and out of there. Only way to counter this is to order online which you don't always think to do. Annoying problem that could easily be solved with common sense. There's also always like 15 people working and they still take a while to make your sandwich even if they're mildly busy. Then, like everyone else they flip around the iPad on you and ask you for a 25% tip while people are behind you in line also waiting for their sandwiches that have been sitting there for 10 minutes

They are located right next to their bakery, so they have some yummy treats like cinnamon roll French toast. All their breakfast items are good in my experience. This time I just wanted something simple so I got avocado toast. It actually turned out to be more than I bargained for because it was absolutely loaded with fresh avocado. A lot of places will be skimpy with it, but this was very generous and filling. The eggs were also perfectly cooked. My husband got eggs, toast, and home fries with corned beef hash. Again, the eggs were perfectly cooked. The hash was good and not too salty. Their home fries are banging so of course I stole some of them from his plate. They have quite a bit of seating, but they can be very busy at times and there will be a wait. I've never waited very long for my food though. Even if it not busy, we usually choose to sit in the bar. It's cozy and has a nice old school ambiance. As with most places on the Cape, they have bike parking outside, and it's pretty easy access from the CCRT so it's a nice spot to stop after or during your ride.
