Purchasing a boat can be painful (at least it is for me). It's been unbelievable how great my experience has been with Basa's. Rudie Gotlund is the boat whisperer in my opinion. As easy going as I am, I still may not be the easiest customer to deal with being that I made SO MANY changes and customizations to the Crestliner I ordered. Rudie was knowledgeable and patient in all situations. I have purchased boats at other dealers and it's been a mixed bag (mostly painful). This was truly an enjoyable experience with added personal touches from the team. On the financing and deal closure side, Jody and Rich were fantastic. Jody obtained the tricky financing I requested, and made the deal closing most enjoyable. Additionally she is a walking boat regulation encyclopedia, and she provide amazing guidance on DNR regulations, Illinois government guidelines, etc. These are things I thought I knew already, as a seasoned tournament fisherman and watersport enthusiast, but found out I didn't know as much as I thought after meeting with Jody. She hooked us up so we be safe and legal at all times in my new beast Super Hawk Crestliner! Finally, Chris and David were the master technicians that installed my kicker motor and other complex modifications to this boat! Chris was very patient and informative in the boat walk through. After a few different times stopping at Basa they do little to help. Trying to buy an item along with several other items and they said they couldn't cut a piece after giving us a price for it. Boat service in general is expensive. Basa's pricing is inline with all the other shops in the area. The service dept folks are always very knowledgeable and helpful when I have questions. I've taken my boat here probably 3-4x for winterization and other services. They have a retail area where you can get other boating supplies. The front is the showroom. They sell new boats as well as used. They have boat storage however I've not used them for that. read more

I bought my boat from this dealership last year and continue to be impressed with their after sales support !! They did a great job making sure I got everything I wanted on my boat in a manner that was convenient for me during the sale. Now, the after sales support is amazing. I just saw some negative reviews here, and cannot honestly see this team not making sure that all issues are satisfied in fair manner. Jody, Rich, and Rudy are top notch leaders in that place. I live in Naperville so I decided to contact this local dealer for a replacement bimini. I was told to email boat ID information to their parts department and that it may take a week or so to get a quote. Sent email on June 17 with follow up emails on June 27, July 9 & July 22. No response on any of the emails. I also called in early July and was told the parts department was working on the quote. As of today, August 4th, still no reply. I'm not mad just disappointed that I wanted to support local businesses and they are lacking in communication and interest. read more

I just signed for a new Regal Cruiser here. I can't say enough about Rich and the staff here. I don't trust slick salesmen who will say what you want to hear. I got a fair deal here and more importantly, I feel like I was treated fairly and I have a competent dealer for a long time. I have been looking at boats for several years and have been in Basa's numerous time talking with Rich. Never was pressured into making a purchase. When the time came, I went back and got the boat i wanted. I was welcomed into the family and they go above and beyond for their customers. Any issues I came across were handled without an question. I've had nothing but problems with this place. I made two separate appointments over the phone with the service department and both times they said no problem. Made arrangements out of my busy work schedule and I show up and they are like who are you and I never said that. Really??? The last appointment I made I was basically called a liar and denied the previous arrangements that were made never existed. Obviously they lost me as a customer and I would not ever recommend them. And shame on you for suggesting that I somehow lied or made up a story to get my boat services before others that were in front of me. read more

We bought our first boat from Basa's in 2014 and my experience has been super the whole time. I didn't buy a trailer and they delivered the boat for me at Lake Carroll. They came out and spent a couple hours with my wife and I teaching us the basics for driving, parking, tying knots, etc. Very patient and answered all of my questions. They have gone above and beyond every time I've needed help with parts, warranty service, and how-to questions. Basa's has been doing this for a long time and they know what they're doing. If you're going to purchase a boat, you owe it to yourself to shop at Basa's Marine. Last year my girlfriend and I made the trip down to Bolingbrook from the northern suburbs to take a look at a Rinker - in the middle of winter!!! As risky a proposition as that was, Rudie and all of the folks over at Basa's made the entire buying experience a complete pleasure. They were extremely responsive, promised to stand behind their boat (and delivered because we did encounter a few minor issues once we put it in the water) and delivered top notch customer service. This was my third boat purchase and I have never run in to a more professional group. Do yourself a favor and give these guys a call. read more

Basa marine is terrible, we brought our boat to them for minor repairs, we end up picking up fuel injectors drop them off for Basa get charged $2,200.00 & told the boat will run better than ever, we put it on the water it barely starts and only goes about 10mph, so we bring it back to them after 2 weeks of us seeing it outside they tell us it's a bad CPU (MEFI) to order new and repair requires upgrade $3,500.00 for them to install do I just go pick up boat to research on my own, they charge me additional $675.00 for nothing. So I pick up boat nothing is put together stereo not connected, tach wire is cut, find out newMEFI is $2,100.00 the rest was labor which took me about 3 minutes to take out, I send it off for diagnostics and its returned saying its in perfect working order so I trouble shoot myself fund the minor problem ( a $50.00) dollar part boat now runs great! Never would I recommend Basa to my worst enemy!!!! read more
