I don't see any recent reviews and, sadly, feel obligated to warn people off of this place.
Where to begin?
We had high hopes, given the lovely views and location adjacent to the W.O.W. Same ownership, and the WOW experience is just extraordinarily well done in every way so I cannot fathom what is going on with this restaurant.
Ambiance is cold and awkward with 4-tops used for two people and 6-tops used for 4. This is basic stuff, putting you awkwardly too far from your dining companions . Tables have no candles or lamps, they rely on overhead lights in a cavernous room.
Service was inexperienced, slow, unfriendly and, again, just awkward. I do understand how the tourism boom and labor shortages have probably put them in a bad spot, however, we had excellent, knowledgeable service at other restaurants in town.
We were ready to overlook the uncomfortable ambiance and service if the food was good. I'm sorry to report that it was not. The croaker fish was almost cold and had no flavor . The steak dish was a tortured combination of flavors with sweet applesauce. With beef... just NO. It didn't work. The "rustic potatoes " side dish were clammy stale French fries! I mean, just call them fries! I didn't know it was possible to mess up fries, but they managed it. Quinoa and arugula salad-tasteless. The vegetarian "curry" (I cannot insult the word ) was a sweet, strange mess of various random vegetables (one piece of asparagus, one bean, some cubes of this and that) over stale rice pilaf. I guess it serves me right for ordering curry here but the protein dishes looked so unappealing, I thought veggies were a safe choice lol. It was like a child was in the kitchen making dinner for Mother's Day.
We didn't risk dessert.
Please, just don't go. There are other places in Porto to go for excellent food, ambience and service. read more
