Bart's Deli - Sausage, egg, and cheese, English muffin. Delicious - Convenience Stores Near Me - Bartlett, New Hampshire

Whoever owns this place is really letting it go down hill, outside and inside it is rundown, when you go in stuff everywhere doesn't look like it has a deli until you go around the corner inside. No customers, doesn't look very clean. I was going to grab a coffee and asked if they had restrooms, lady was rude and said only for customers. NOT recommended. read more

Me and my family usually go here every summer and we come to the same problem. The lady or the cashier is always very rude, especially to teenage boys and younger. She refuses to sell products to my brother because he is a teenager which she assumes is a bad kid and doesn't deserve to get the products unless he pays cash which is ridiculous because the people in front of us paid card. Overall this place has great subs but horrible employees. read more

We stopped here on the way back from a wedding, excited for a classic deli. I usually don't leave reviews but my husband and I were both so taken aback by how rude the woman working the front was. She was super unpleasant, short with us, and was condescending when we asked clarifying questions that didn't align with the menu written on the board - for example apparently only cold sandwiches were being served at this time but they were NOT doing bacon because the grill was closed, yet the BLT was under cold sandwiches. Anyways, 2 stars since the man making the sandwiches was pleasant and the food was pretty good. Just unreal how rude this woman was. read more

Its more like the Fart deli. That lady at the front desk really shouldn't be the face to the customers. She was so rude we couldn't stop laughing. Asked to use the restroom and she barked "Are you buying anything". I have to say the bathroom was filthy and suggest a hazmat suit if you did have to use it Sandwiches are fair and would equate to an elementary school cafeteria. Not a lot of love in this place . read more

I don't usually write reviews and this is all based on my personal opinion and my personal experience, but I felt compelled to do this one because of such a terrible experience that I had. While taking a long ride through the mountains with my friend and our dogs, we decided to pull over here because it looked like a good place to get a coffee and maybe a sandwich. We got out of our car and let the dogs out with us on a leash so that they could get out and stretch their legs as well. Almost immediately, we were met by this extremely unpleasant, grumpy, and downright nasty woman who either owned the place or ran it. She stood in the doorway, staring at us from about five feet away, and proceeded to say, "Are you going to pick up your dog shit when she goes to the bathroom?" To our amazement, we said, of course, we are responsible dog owners. Our dogs had already gone to the bathroom before and were just stretching their legs. But if they did go to the bathroom, we would absolutely pick everything up. We were also at the back of the building on the edge of the woods, not anywhere near the lawn or anything; the grass was as high as our knees against the woods. I then said we were just letting them stretch their legs and were going to buy some food and coffee. Again, to our amazement, she said, "Well, that doesn't give you the right to let your dog shit on my property!" When I tell you, this person was so extremely mean and rude and did not hear anything that we said and just wanted to be nasty about it. So we said, seeing that we have been greeted with such disrespect, we are just going to take our business someplace else. She didn't even care and just turned around and walked back into the doorway. I have read through all of the reviews here on Google and it seems like everyone has had a similar experience with this person. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here, and if I were dying of thirst and starving, I would walk right past this place. When you own an establishment, you should be polite and kind. If I could give this place zero stars for a review, I would. read more

Terrible service from the woman who was working there. Bad attitude rude demeanor and acted like she was too busy doing nothing to be bothered by pesky customers. Negative five stars would be more appropriate if it were possible. read more

Rude and possibly racist. Some old miserable lady raised her voice and quickly slammed the window down at us after giving us our ice cream cones. She didn't even give us a chance to ask for the napkins she never gave us. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Waited 40 minutes for a grilled cheese and a pulled pork sandwich, with noone ahead of us. (There was an order called in for bunch of sandwiches but no one told us. Gave us pastrami instead of pulled pork, barely any meat and it was horrible. Rude, no service only could use restrooms after you showed your purchase receipt even if you planned on eating.

Fantastic hot tomato motz sandwich. I split it with my husband with a bag of chips. I didn't realize they had home made chips until after I purchased, next time. They had a few vegetarian options, which is nice to have a choice instead of the one token veg item. Cute general store too. Def a staple for future Bartlett/Conway trips. read more

Bart's Deli - a sandwich and chips on a picnic blanket - Convenience Stores Near Me - Bartlett, New Hampshire

Please heed the other two warnings about the bitter and mean owner. She accused me of stealing in front of my four kids after I had already spent $30 on breakfast and had forgotten my coffee and was trying to pay with a debit card again because I didn't have cash and there's a five dollar minimum. Lesson learned I totally get it I'll bring cash in New Hampshire. And she told me you're basically stealing from me as I was frantically trying to find something else to make up for the five dollars. She also told me have a nice time at Santas village. I guess that's a really horrible thing to say to a tourist because I have no clue what Santas Village is. I told her I hope her day got better but not a great way to start mine. read more

I live in area, don't take the terrible service personally the owner is miserable she does it to everyone. It's the only place between Glen and Bretton Woods so AT trekkers are forced to deal with her, best to drive or hike on past unless you like dark clouds. read more

I came to Bart's for the chicken salad sandwich. The sandwich was great. However, unfortunately, my experience was completely soured by the awful interaction with the woman working the deli. Such bitterness towards me, a kind stranger and random rudeness. This woman made ME feel like an a**hole for coming into to support their business, as if I was inconveniencing her. If she hates people that much she should not work in a customer-facing job. Such a shame. read more

The lady at the front desk was SO incredibly rude to me. After having my car break down near by, I walked in to stay warm and wait for my ride. She rudely asked if I needed anything and then proceeded to pester me for sitting on a bench near the front door, disrespectfully telling me "I should not be sitting on the newspapers" which I was not. I grew up in this area and have been to Barts many times. The food is great, but this worker needs to go. Very disrespectful, if I was not a local I would not return because of her. read more

Terrible service. Picked item off the shelf and was told it wasn't for sale. Gave ID still didn't believe it was real. Not the type of welcome I figured to receive feom small town business. Don't bother coming here for over priced items. read more

Bart's Deli is a classic country store with a deli. Very old fashion, but has everything needed for a day on the road in NH. The store is clean, well organized and cozy. The staff are the real deal. They are kind of like that favorite Aunt you have that tells you how it is, but she always treats you right. That's what these ladies bring. My experiences there have been great. Something about the atmosphere just does it for me. And the conversation is always spirited. It's important to keep in mind that this is a country store, not some North Conway tourist trap. What you get here are real people and real country style food. May not be for those who live a super high end or high maintenance life. I give Bart's 5 stars because it's just what the doctor ordered when either heading out for a 4 hour mountain drive or when coming back from a 4 hour mountain drive. read more

New customer and ordered a pizza half way thru my drive to get to this deli, took me 35 minutes to get there, 1 way. I was told the pizza would be ready in 20 minutes, perfect. 20 minutes later I arrived and asked the very rude lady in the deli if it was ready. Her response was are you kidding me I haven't even made it let alone put it in the oven yet, I've been busy making sandwiches for the walk in customers, whaaaaat??? Let me make this guy his sandwich and then I'll get to you. My reply was I ordered it ahead of time so it would be ready, now it's not and you just lost a customer! What a horrible rude lady, good ridens! read more

I stopped in here for a few items while staying at Attitash Grand resort. I read a quick review before going in and saw all the comments about the gray haired rude woman. She lived up to the reviews. She watched my kids like a hawk and yelled at them for everything they touched. They picked up hula hoops and I heard her yell to my 7 and 9 year olds "are you going to buy those!!?" My son was turning on the lantern/flashlight on the shelf and she barked "don't turn all of those on!" On the way out I told her she should not allow children in her store, the door states families welcome. I would drive well out of the way to avoid spending any more money in this store read more

Don't recommend it. Worst pancakes I've ever had, though I imagine pancakes could be even worse. They weren't fully cooked or tasted raw, were way too thick and not in a good way, and had a bad consistency. The bacon is too fatty on sandwiches. Disappointing, I really wanted good or normal chocolate chip and blueberry pancakes. The chef did what I requested though with the sandwich, which is good. read more

We found the few items we needed. But didn't feel welcome by the attendant. It didn't look like a place I wanted to shop at ever again.

Worst customer service I have EVER SEEN!! The woman who works there is the most negative person I have ever encountered.. Do not go there! I took a picture of the chalkboard menu with my phone, and this Shrew of a woman screamed at me.. biggest witch I had ever seen.. I apologized for offending her, then she ranted some more..food took forever.. the cook seemed like a great guy, but this B#*^tch at the register is enough to curdle ones appetite. This woman is so sad that her negative energy permeates the entire store. She needs a come to Jesus moment and find some love in the world. read more

Date of service: May 30, 2015 Meal: Lunch, dine in All Ratings out of 10: Quality of food: 6 Food to Spend Value: 7 Quality of Service: 6 Overall Rating: 6 We were out in the midst of the White Mountains, enjoying some hiking, when we decided we needed to have lunch before continuing our day. There aren't many options when you are in remote areas, but we drove by Bart's and decided it would suit for a quick lunch. Bart's is a convenience store that also has a deli in the back that makes hot and cold sandwiches, among other things. After perusing the larger than expected menu board, I decided to get the Steak & Cheese hot sandwich Loaded. It looked a bit like a Philly cheese steak, with loads of steak, melted cheese, bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms, and it came out piping hot. The sandwich was decent but not amazing. The flavor of the overall sandwich was actually pretty bland, and the veggies were a bit undercooked. However, for the price and convenience it was a great sandwich. As mentioned the deli had quite a few options, and combined with the general store it wouldn't be too hard to find something both to eat and drink. There is a small amount of seating, though more than I expected, and the overall atmosphere was super casual. Even though the food was average, the portion size was good and the price even better, so it was a good value for what you got. Bart's isn't a spot I would plan on going to for lunch, but in a pinch it is a great convenient option if you are hiking in the White Mountains. read more

Literally in the middle of nowhere, we stopped here on our way from N Conway to Whitfield for a bite to eat. When you first enter , you walk into a fairly large and well stocked convenience store. In the back corner, you will find the deli with a couple of tables where you can enjoy your selections. I ordered a steak and cheese while Mrs. B had an Italian. After ordering our subs, we walked back to the convenience store to grab sodas and payed for our food and drinks. What i did find interesting is that they also have a sitting room with couches and comfortable chairs for you to relax on as well as a few tables and chairs, all out of the way of the hustle and bustle of other patrons. As for the food, We both thoroughly enjoyed the taste of our selection, though I thought the size was a bit lacking for the price. read more

Great sandwiches but the woman behind the counter is not friendly and is very grouchy to customers. Maybe just tourists

I wish the customer service was better. Locals are the favorite here. They will get served before you. The woman on the evening shift chastised my daughter for not ordering her ice cream fast enough saying "it's not brain survey" to her. But if you need something quick, it's quick. Just don't expect hometown or mountain hospitality. read more

Only giving one star because it makes you choose an option. Stopped in here for a "quick" lunch while working in the area. Waited 30 minutes in line in awkward silence before the gentleman behind the counter even looked or spoke to us. Finally takes our order in a rather rude tone/ attitude. After another 10-15 minutes go by our food is finally ready and to my surprise at the register my 6 inch cold Italian sandwich was 12$ which upon eating it I realized was nearly the worst sandwich I've had in years along with it being completely incorrect from what I ordered. So if your looking for absolutely horrible customer service in a dim lit place that has 2/10 food come on by this place!! Otherwise stay far far away. Again I do realize it is a small town place trying to survive however if your not going to do it correctly in the food service industry you have no right to be open. read more

Cashier was very rude, and based on the other reviews, that seems normal. Food was mediocre at best.

We come to NH two to three times are year. This past winter after snowmobiling we asked our guide where to eat. We hate chain's and rather support the local. The guide recommended Bart's, so we where forewarned about the two ladies. I'm glad she mentioned here cause we always drive by this store. Sooo, I love a challenge and I also like to make my own opinion when it comes to people. We order 5 sandwiches with two bags of chips with drinks, $51 for all. Price wise was good. We ate and enjoyed all our meals NO complaints about the food. The lady that took my order was nice to us, the lady behind the cashier was decent to me, NO complaints. I would come back to eat or shop here. read more

Great selection and service, my go-to general store in the white mountains! Helpful and friendly staff

One word, wow. Possibly the least accommodating place I've ever been too. Old mother Gothel in there rudely informed us that the items we selected were for whatever reason not for sale. She didn't tell us why, or why they were on display but somehow not for sale. Didn't think women that age could still get their period. read more
