Having frequenting for decades many Indian Restaurants in Houston, TX, typically destroying any margin restaurants' hoped to make on their low budget all-U-can-eat lunch buffet offerings, I was curious about my host's suggestion that the oddly-named, "Barton Rouge" would be our best choice for Indian food in Chester, UK. He was paying, so how could I argue? Besides, whilst enjoying a pint at the pub next-door, I spied what appeared to be a burly Sikh guarding the BR's entry: From what, I wondered? Roving bands of Welshmen demanding free vindaloo? We ordered Lamb Nagpur and the Tent-of-Nan, bread large enough to be an effective umbrella. Not certain what "Nagpur" means in Hindi, but "Eye-watering-spicy" is my guess, and exactly what I wanted. Wonderful! read more
