Mavis did a great job installing tires on two of our vehicles…read more Service was good and very friendly! The inspections they gave us on both cars were spot on too!

Something is not right with Mavis and it's bigger than just this shop in West Bend. I made an…read moreappointment through the Mavis website for 9:00AM. Picked the tires which the site said were in-stock. Got multiple text messages in the days leading up to my appointment confirming and reminding me of my appointment. On the day of the appointment I walked in and was immediately told they were two hours behind. Um what now? You just opened how is that possible. I was told they had multiple walk-ins that were taking priority. I've never worked in or been a customer of a shop that prioritized walk-ins over appointments. When I worked at the dealership, it was always figure out where to squeeze walk-ins around the appointments. No one from the shop had bothered to contact me in any way to let me know of the delay in advance. But here we are. They offered to reschedule me for a different day, but I thought, nah the tires are here, I'm here, let's just get it done. So sat in the waiting area (with all the flies and other bugs floating around), rescheduling my other appointments for the day. After 70 minutes of sitting there, and oddly enough shortly after a delivery truck stopped in with a delivery of tires, I was approached by the service writer and told my tires were not in stock (translation: We didn't actually have them in stock but expected them to come in our 10 o'clock delivery, but they didn't). At that point I declined to reschedule, just asked for my keys and left. This is clearly a bigger problem than this shop and points to a massive issue with how Mavis runs their business. Clearly from my experience and conversations I heard the service writers having with other customers, there is no integration between the corporate website and the store. The poor folks at this shop are put in a terrible situation by the corporate business model. All I can say is I would never consider going to this or any other Mavis location again.

I originally gave Half Price Auto a good review. That was before they killed my Toyota Minivan. I…read morewas leaking oil and they "fixed" the leak by replacing a hose at a reasonable price of $100. I was sent on my way and a few days later drove to far Northern Wisconsin. In the middle of nowhere my check engine oil light comes on and seconds later the front end is smoking. I stopped and called for the inevitable tow truck. It was brought to their Shop and the mechanic informs me Half Price Auto used a standard hose where a high heat pressure line should have been used. This mechanic indicated it was a "no brainer" and any mechanic would have known not to use the hose Half Price Auto used. To worsen my situation, the engine was trash after the oil quickly drained out at highway speeds. I went back to Half Price Auto and they offered to do nothing to compensate me for killing my engine. They suggested I have the car towed 4 hours to their shop where they would look at it and decide if they used the wrong hose. They said they would consider splitting the cost of putting in a (used) engine. No, how about you contact the other mechanic or any other mechanic to verify you used the wrong part. How about you pay to tow the car back. How about you pay to replace the engine destroyed by your error. How about apologizing for your mechanics mistake? I guess that's what I get for trying to find Half Price Auto repair.
