It's my sister's favorite butcher shop though, and when I'm going to make a pot roast I want to use the best meat, so we stopped by here. It was larger and more spacious than a lot of butchers which I appreciated--often they're super crowded. The area where you enter has a nice selection of cheese and wines as well as some other foods. The staff was friendly and helpful. ETA: Today when I started to make my pot roast, imagine my surprise when I found that I had two chuck steaks... not really super conducive to pot roast, and a little annoying since I asked for chuck roast. I've been to other butchers and asked for chuck roast and never been given bone-in chuck steak. This isn't something I could use because it wouldn't fit into the pot and I couldn't cut it with the bone in, so I had to go buy another $40 of meat at Albertson's. Not sure that I'll be returning to Long's. Hope my sister can use the meat so it won't be a total waste of the $30 I spent here.

This is more than a processing/butcher shop, you can shop here for various cuts of meat, seasonings and even just pick up a hot lunch with beef, macaroni salad and potato salad. The staff are very friendly and communicative. I started asking about how they process and smoke their beef because I'm a home smoker as well and I'm always open to new ways of seasoning and smoking cuts of meat. Next thing you know, one of the proprietors is leading me to the back where there is this monster sized double door smoker. The doors pop open and there were at least 8 huge briskets in large pans, some covered, some not. They were in various stages of smoking and were covered with a seasoning blend that he created. He was in the process of pulling this meat for hot lunches. The steam and aroma were definitely intoxicating. He cut off a small piece for me to taste and it just melted in my mouth. .....not what I was expecting from a meat processor! Well that sealed the deal for me and I ended up coming home with a nice sized brisket, a jar of seasoning mix and some skirt steak. ....I only came in to make a payment towards some processing that a friend had done. They also have a selection of various sausages, hotdogs, steaks, roasts, pork and even chicken. The huge slab of maple bacon was pretty tempting. Overall, we found the pricing very competitive and some better than the supermarkets, as well as the satisfaction of knowing that the meat is local and where it came from, and that the ground beef is from one cow, not a blend of a hundred cows. The staff are very friendly and willing to discuss their products and services. Such a nicer way to buy meat, much like the old butcher shops of days gone by.

There were a couple of other people there getting meat as well and the employees were all working hard to fill orders. I was greeted immediately upon entering. The guy who helped us was friendly and helpful. He seemed like he could be new and he was asking questions from an older guy who was happy to help. They cut the tenderloin for us and gave us the trimmings upon request. I overheard another employee helping a customer figure out how much meat to get. He was feeding a big family with teenagers and the employee was asking a bunch of questions to make sure she gave the best recommendation possible. That interaction made me feel like I made the right choice in butcher. The meat we got was very high quality. It was fresh and tender and the dinner I made with it was amazing! It was very expensive but it was absolutely worth the price. This is a treat that I would get once a year and no more. The shop itself was about what you'd expect in a butcher shop. The employee area was a good size and the customer area was small and narrow. It smelled surprisingly good and I left wishing I had gotten some of the smoked meats I was smelling. The parking lot is small but easy to get in and out of. There isn't a public bathroom (that I could tell) but you'll only be there for a few minutes so you should be fine. I would definitely come back here the next time I need some high quality meat. The people are friendly and knowledgeable and the selection is expansive. Definitely give these folks a try!

It is abundantly clear the owner loves his business and will talk to you about basically anything, give tips, helpful recipes, and so much more. I'm a food blogger and so I love talking about recipes with him, but he is great with food styling too, and makes sure if I'm using whatever meat for a blog recipe that it's absolutely perfect. All I have to do is ask, and it's done. They run weekly specials, and it's always a great way to stock the freezer. The specials rotate too, so it is different each week. We also really love the ribeye steaks, which are perfect for a stay home date night meal. They also make food there like sandwiches and other things. Which I often forget, but the owner can absolutely cook. His baked beans are a favorite of mine, and I generally hate beans, which says something to me. Would I return? Absolutely. This is easily one of my favorite small local businesses to get behind and support. The customer service and product are always on point. I've never had a bad experience here, and I always look forward to stopping in with my husband. Review 23 of 2025.

You get some friendly advice, a little neighborhood gossip, and your meat nicely wrapped in brown paper. The great thing about Benedetti's is they also have a small lunch counter and grill offering up classic east coast deli sandwiches like chicken parmigiana, Reubens, and more. I stopped in for a quick lunch based on the recommendation of fellow Yelper Mark M., and I couldn't be more appreciative of his advice! The cook was super friendly and we chatted up a storm while he prepared my turkey club with bacon and avocado. He grilled the turkey, which came as a surprise to me... but I loved it! They don't have indoor dining at the moment, so I took my lunch to a nearby park and had an amazing time. If you find yourself in Springfield or Eugene, stop by Benedetti's for a little nostalgia and a full and happy belly!

No fancy bells, no whistle and just honest, no-frills service and fish so fresh you'd swear it still had stories to tell. I wandered in and found a small seating area tucked away, nothing flashy, just folks there for the same reason: good food. And good food it was. The fish was fresh, cooked right, and full of flavor and none of that overworked nonsense, just straight-up tasty. If you're looking for glitz, keep wandering. But if you want a solid meal that feels like it came straight off the boat, this is your spot. I'd happily cast my line here again. My wife wanted soup or chowder so we tried Fisherman's Market in Eugene. Excellent choice! We shared a bowl of the clam chowder, a bowl of the seafood stew, and a couple pieces of fried salmon. Best decision ever. The stew was tomato based, lots of fish and just a bit of heat. The New England chowder was flavorful with lots of clams and potatoes. Salmon was equally good; the coating was light and their homemade tartar sauce very good. They offer 6 other sauces besides tarter and ketchup, which is a nice option. They have live fish and seafood, plus cases of whole crabs, fish filets and much more. Their cole slaw looked really good, but we had already eaten. Eugene is only 2 hours from home; we will be stopping there again.

Parking is a little janky if you're not used to the area, but this grocery store is otherwise a hidden gem! It might be run of the mill for locals; I'm not sure if this is a large chain that's all over the place or if it's less common, but the produce, meat, and cheese departments blew me away. I just want to rave a bit about this particular section of the store - most everything else was similar to what your expect. I've never seen such a large selection of items in a grocery store deli before... it was honestly slightly overwhelming to pick just a few items to try. There are individually wrapped chunks of tons of different types of cheeses, dried meats and prepackaged ones, accoutrements like breadsticks, olives, mini jelly and jam jars, and more. It was amazing. The bakery case was a whole other story... I have the biggest sweet tooth and can't get enough of baked goods, and their displays were absolutely gorgeous. I unfortunately didn't purchase anything from this section, but I can only imagine it's delicious lol. Checking out was easy as it usually is when grocery shopping and the lady that helped me out was friendly, so I really had absolutely nothing to complain about during my extremely brief visit to this super cool store.
