Exploring the candy offerings at Bartell Drugs today, Friday 17 November 2023, I found a buy one get one 50% off deal on some of the less expensive items. They were sold out on some of the more seasonal items such as caramels. So I decided to go with a small pack (3 pieces) of Almond Roca and a KitKat Duos strawberry and dark chocolate bar. When the cashier rang the items up, the Almond Roca came in at $0.74, it had been a while since I got this quantity of the product packaged this way for that price. The parking lot was moderately easy to maneuver in and the store front was easy to spot. Workers in the store were friendly, even greeting customers as we entered the store. The checkout line was easy to find and payment straightforward. I liked/appreciated the welcome sign inside the front door with the name of the shopping center the store was located in. read more

This pharmacy used to be terrible but I've had increasingly better experiences over the past 6 months or so. The main pharmacist has been very helpful when I've asked for help/suggestions when medications have run out at this Bartells location. Usually if the medication is out here then it is out everywhere, and he's checked stock at multiple locations a number of times now. Also, the pharmacy staff in general seems much happier and helpful than a few years ago. If I knew names then I would give a shout out! Instead I'll say, "go say hello to Gary at QFC! The transition from Bartell to CVS after the death of the Bartell brand has been a life-threatening nightmare. We cannot get our prescriptions filled here, calls are not logged in the system, no one cares anymore. We are switching to the closest Safeway right this minute. read more

The pharmacy is horrible! Very bad customer service, rude employees. They take forever to fill up the prescription, never send messages.

The pharmacy is extremely slow and inefficient and I dread having to go in or call (hold times are ridiculous). Anytime my Dr sends in a refill I have to call to make sure they will actually fill it. Otherwise you might as well forget it. The line is always long and it seems like they don't have the staffing for how busy they are. I don't understand how the Mountlake Terrace location is so easy to deal with and this one is an absolute nightmare. As far as the store goes, it's abysmal at best. The shelves are barren and it's the last place I would ever consider going to actually shop for anything. For how busy Canyon Park is, they certainly fall short in what they are able to provide. Despite there being more than a few negative reviews on this place I like it. They are laid out better than a CVS or Walgreens and have a better stock than both places. I didn't have a long wait at the pharmacy and the people it it were nice enough. The lighting inside was lower than most drug stores which I appreciated. It was more homey than hospital bright and kind of reminded me of the local pharmacies I used to go to when I was a kid in the 80's. I just liked the feel of the place. Wow. The pharmacy here is absolutely TERRIBLE. An hour wait to fill a single prescription? 8-10 people in line? RUDE pharmacist who talked crap about the "impatient people in line" in front of us all? I'm not buying the "short staffed" BS anymore. Pay more for people, get your shit together. I gave the pharmacy a year. It got better a little but now it's bad again. The poor pharmacists don't have enough staff to fill prescriptions with their staffing level. Corporate wants them to keep doing immunizations. To get your prescription you have to show up in person and wait. Rite Aid has ruined a Seattle institution. I got my prescription for Ivermectin filled here about 4 months ago. I needed a refill and they refused to fill it for me. I called many times and they gave me the run around. Finally, I talked to the rude female pharmacist who put me on hold for 10 minutes and she told me that they would not be able to refill my prescription because of Bartell's new COVID policy. She made me feel like a criminal because I wanted to refill my prescription. I will never return to this location. read more

Worst pharmacy I have ever been to, hands down. Female pharmacist was rude. I called them on Tuesday to question them about my medication because nobody stocks it due the price of it. Said they could order it and get it next day. Called the next day, Wednesday, said they "forgot to order it". Said they will order it. Called Thursday, they didn't order enough to fill the prescription and said "due to the type of medication, they don't do partial fills". I finally had to tell them to short fill the prescription. When I went to pick up the prescription, the pharmacist told me not to bring either of them back. While I was in line to pick them up, every person in line was told that their prescriptions weren't ready and took their numbers so they could be called when they were ready. And I do mean EVERY PERSON. And I was 12th in line when I got there. After I told someone about the problems I was having they said that they had heard that ever since Rite-Aid bought them they had turned horrible. I do not know if that is true or not but with the horrible experience I had, I can believe it. read more

There is always a long line with only one lady at the register. If you are only able to pick up after work or on weekends, be prepared to wait. This place has too many customers. They just can't keep up. read more

This review is about the pharmacy. The store and the people working in it are great. I had such a bad experience with pharmacist Rhonda. She was so rude and not helpful at all! Usually pharmacists offer information about new medications. First of all, I had to ask to talk with the pharmacist and the woman at the register seemed hesitant to let me. And, second, Rhonda just seemed in a hurry like I was bothering her and she just asked if I had questions. She didn't automatically tell me anything. I asked about taking it with another medication, and about side effects, and if I should avoid any foods or something. She rushed me and seemed annoyed. She just doesn't care. So rude! read more

Terrible pharmacy. I am done using them. I've put up with the bad service for over a year. They are very short staffed and not working to correct the issue. When I try to call to see if my refills are ready, because they usually aren't even though I have a text confirming they should be, they put me on hold for over 40 minutes. Get your prescriptions somewhere else and save yourself time and frustration. read more

Bartell is one of the providers on Instacart but the store is not going to work on your Instacart orders. I made several orders and none of them got worked on. I even went in person and the manager Sara lied saying she did not receive the orders. read more

I always experience the worst help at the pharmacy. I dread picking up my medication every time. I would rather go miles away to a different location. Medication is never on time and staff is very curt. I usually love browsing the aisles but I'm so off put after my experience at the pharmacy I just leave. read more

Been using this Bartell location for more than 15 years, up until around 5 months ago the pharmacy was excellent. Wow has that changed. In that time they have screwed up so many of the orders, flat out lied to us around them ordering medicines, and such poor customer service we have now switched to another company. This is a shame that this has happened to a good store. It is to the point they are putting peoples lives in danger, and the WA health system should look at how badly this location is run. Not that it matters much to a company like this anymore since it was bought out by Rite Aid, but you have lost a customer for life, and I will definitely recommend against anyone going to this store. read more

Pharmacy review: After multiple mistakes in the recent months getting prescriptions filled for my daughter and I, I am on the hunt for a new pharmacy. The move tot he Rite Aid system has thrown them for a loop that they cannot recover from. Having our prescriptions on time is very important, and they routinely tell me things like they can't find my script, only to realize it's "on hold" after I ask them to look multiple times, or they won't take the initiative to contact my doctor with a question about a prescription that they have a question about, but wait for me to call to figure out that there's an issue, only to find that I won't be able to have it filled for several more days. It's sad, and so frustrating. read more

By far the slowest pharmacy. Whatever time they quote you for having your prescription ready, add at least ten minutes. I've waited up to twenty minutes past the time originally quoted. The only up side is that I read all of their magazines guilt free. Update. I am switching pharmacies. This one has consistently slow service and misses scheduled pick up times. Today's prescription was supposed to be ready by noon. I stopped by after work at 4:30pm and was told they were "still counting" the order. read more

Pharmacy Review - after 13 years of excellent service this place went downhill extremely fast and I will start using different pharmacy. They are notoriously late, prescription are not filled on time, there is typically a line now, while it used to be a fairly quick pickup, and worst of all, the staff is rude. A great drug store with an excellent selection of goods! The store is clean, well stocked, and offers a wide variety of things. They usually have a large seasonal section with lots of decorations and things to choose from. The lines at the pharmacy can get long but I've got no complaints. I've never had a bad experience here. When in town, this is my go to drug store. read more

The pharmacy here is the worst. They take forever to get your orders and say 2 business days when you call in your order yet they are never ready before 5 days. The lines are 8-10 people long They need to have a line for people that called their orders in days before vs people just walking up to the counter. I will be moving my pharmacy needs to Rite Aid. WHAT A SH**SHOW! BARTELLS CANYON PARK GAVE MY MOTHER A DRUG THAT WAS FOR SOMEONE ELSE. IT HAD HER NAME ON IT - was with all her other meds for pickup. I noticed this when she handed me the bottle to refill it (she had taken it!) and I didn't recognize the doctor. She actually took them for three weeks and I noticed the bottle was from a doctor I never heard of. Further investigation would confirm that this was for someone from Lake Stevens with a different birthdate. The head pharmacist called me and all she could say was "I'm sorry". IM SORRY??!!! What about - let me get you to a doctor asap or assist with paying for her to see her PCP to be evaluated? This was after everything that happened below! I demanded to speak to a District Manager and a doctor. The idiotic head pharmacist had no regard for the fact that my mother had taken a cardiac drug that was not meant for her!!! I am a cancer patient. I take medication for CANCER and CANCER related pain. This is a recent development of the past six months, through surgery, radiation etc.. I was recently diagnosed with a lung problem related to radiation. I went in with an script for some cough suppressant. The first time was during the initial nightmare of COVID crap. I wore a mask, gloves and was completely covered as was my husband. They had a pharmacy assistant dealing with pickup customers and she barely spoke English. She could not understand what we were saying and we could not understand her, especially with a mask on her face. We had to repeat our names several times and it was getting to the point where a pharmacy tech intervened and helped complete my transaction. At that point I left my husband at the counter to complete the transaction as I was very irritated. Ten minutes later my husband was still at the pharmacy counter with the assistant and a long line was forming behind him. I attempted to call him and he did not respond. I went back to the pharmacy and he was sitting there with his phone up to his ear. Apparently the pharmacist was CALLING HIM when they were three feet away to tell him that I WAS POSITIVE FOR COVID 19!!!! He then told me and I was completely taken aback. I had just been tested by SCCA and was definitely negative. Had I been positive, as a cancer patient I would have been in the hospital - not walking around a drugstore!!! The pharmacist (An Asian Female - dont know her name) then was giving me a nasty look and was on the phone trying to page a manager. I walked up to her and asker her what the heck was going on!??? She responded that "someone called and said I was positive for COVID". I asked WHO and she couldn't tell me. What a pack of lies!! No way in hell anyone called them and told them that. No one knew I was going down there and my doctor would not have called a random pharmacy in violation of HIPPA rules. I pulled my phone out and pulled up my negative test result and placed it in her face. She didn't even apologize for making up the story, accusing me of having Covid in public or anything. Just complete blank stupid stares. I had so many meds for my family there that I did not transfer then - I should have. I came down with a lung infection and was prescribed a controlled medication for cough suppression. They treated my like a criminal trying to get pain meds! Seattle Cancer Care transferred my care to a different oncologist who changed the dosage. - same pharmacist as above called the doctor to "confirm" the paper prescription that i handed them and then refused to fill it on the date written (there was a dosage revision). The pharmacist stated that "the doctor agreed to delay the fill for two days" I asked her what she said to the doctor and she said "you will need to consult your doctor". Well I did and guess what - the PHARMACIST REFUSED TO FILL THE SCRIPT!! NOT THE DOCTOR. I subsequently had my husband go down and pick it up and will have it filled elsewhere. Filing a complaint with corporate does no good - they dont respond. I will take the business of my family and my mother elsewhere. I dont know what it is about them and cancer patients based not he other reviews, but there is definitely a problem. THESE PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS! read more

Terrible customer service in the pharmacy! I arrived about 15 minutes before closing and the women at the register rolled her eyes and had a big, annoyed sigh before I could even say hello. She wouldn't fill my simple but urgent prescription because she said she didn't have time. Walgreens filled it in about 5 minutes and with a smile. I won't return. read more

I have been recently diagnosed with cancer and started chemotherapy. My oncologist had submitted some prescriptions to Bartell's to help with the side-effects I was experiencing. My daughter drove me down to the store in the afternoon, the prescriptions had already been there since the morning. I told them I was there to pick up my prescriptions, there was confusion about what was ordered or if they had it. I sat down and waited, a pharmacy tech named Susie called me up to the window to explain that they didn't have it and it would either need to be ordered or I would need to go somewhere else. The pharmacist jumped in and we began to talk about possible alternatives that might work instead. The pharmacist began to walk me over to the aisle to show me some over-the-counter medications and I overheard Susie, the pharmacy tech from hell, throw the biggest fit this side of the Mississippi. Apparently I had wasted an hour of her time and she was now going to be SOOOO behind. She was so beyond angry at me in fact that she slammed the pharmacy door to get out and stomped to the breakroom like a toddler not getting their dessert. Everyone stood there with their mouth open including my teenage daughter. First, please stop working with people Susie. For that matter, don't even work with animals. Also, seek anger management classes. Second, I will never step foot in this Bartell's again which is sad because I used to enjoy shopping there. I called the regional number to complain and got routed to the pharmacy manager. Not sure if anything will be done. A kind sounding gentleman called me back but it was a very placated call where I was asked what I did to "trigger" her. Um, I existed?? The checkout attendant mentioned that this wasn't the first time Susie had charmed someone with her stunning personality *sarcasm*. Way to make a sick person feel even worse Susie. Maybe kick a puppy and scream at a baby on your way out next time for added measure. read more

We used to love the great customer service of this pharmacy. Sadly, the pharmacy has gone down hill. I've spent months trying to get insurance figured out with them. I've tried in person and on the phone with various people. It's always a different story and never consistent. The wait time on their automated system start to finish is about 2.5 minutes just to put in a refill number and confirm. The thing that is the most frustrating is picking up prescriptions. The automated phone system will tell you when it will be ready and asks for you to confirm that time. Show up 4+ hours after the confirmed time, and it's not ready. Show up the next day, and it's not ready. Yet, it's common that "the pharmacist is working on it now." Our most recent visit had us hear, "It will be 10 minutes." and "they're working on it now." Yet nearly 20 minutes later and we were asked to write down the birthdate again. Finally, after 25 minutes, we had the prescription in hand. I gave the extra star for the store. It's nice enough and the customer service is fairly good. Perhaps though, the pharmacy makes you wait so that you will shop around the store!?! Unfortunately, it seems that this Bartells has gone downhill since the Rite Aid take over. We will be searching for a different pharmacy. read more

Very rude pharmacy staff Suzy. My husband dropped off my prescription at 8.30 and was told it will take 30 min. So I went to pick it up at 9.05, after 35 minutes. Suzy told me that she is still working on it and that she had told my husband that it'll take 30 min. I said okay, I'll wait. Then I overheard her telling her co-worker that "I told her husband it'll take 30 min. He works for Microsoft and doesn't know what 30 minutes is." Very rude and inappropriate behavior! read more

Absolutely the worst Bartell pharmacy I've been to. I've been using Bartell Drugs as my pharmacy since 2008 and recently changed to this location. I've been very patient with the staff but over the last five months I've had an issue with literally every prescription I've had filled. No matter what doctor I use to call in a prescription, this pharmacy somehow always "never got it." The last time I came in they gave me the wrong prescription. Always a half-hour line to pick up. Been a loyal customer for many years but now that they're owned by Rite-Aid I guess they're being run into the ground. Moving on and not looking back. read more

**Pharmacy Review** I love this Bartell's Pharmacy and I love everyone who works there! Christine (or Christina?) who is a lead Pharmacist, helped me today with a prescription fill which was going to require me to pay out of pocket and be specially ordered from a compound pharmacy when it was all potentially unnecessary. Unfortunately the specialized doctor (who I probably will not be seeing again) would not budge when Christina called (and when I called) about using something else, readily available and covered by insurance which should work just fine. Through the entire ordeal, Christine was super professional not to mention so sweet and great about it ! This is my go to pharmacy and the staff has repeatedly exceeded my expectations. Not too long ago, I was sick with a prescription for horse pills and they so willingly gave me the liquid form when requesting an alternative with no hassles. For being a chain, this particular Bartell's Pharmacy has a wonderfully personal, neighborhood feel and staff. read more

Horrible pharmacy. The pharmacist is extremely rude. She wasn't billing our insurance correctly but refused to fix it saying I had to figure it out or pay out of pocket! I even got our insurance company on the phone with her and she argued with them too! She finally did when they told her and guess what, it went through! It took 3 days where my son was WITHOUT his medication. Then we go in to pickup after over 2 hours on the phone with them to fix it all and it WASN'T READY AGAIN! After 10 years of being with them we are never coming back. We have been asked to bear with them during the transition, but every single month someone is done wrong and the pharmacist is nothing but rude. If Bartells wants to figure this out then how about listen to your customers, all you have to do is read the reviews, and FIRE the young know it all pharmacist who doesn't do anything right and then blames it on the customer. read more

Today tried all day to contact someone in pharmacy. No answer every time then goes to voicemail. Of course voice mail is full and can't take my message. This review is for the pharmacy; I don't really shop in the store section so I can't comment on that bit. I just wanted to say, Christina, one of the pharmacists, is the best at her job that I've ever seen. She's been filling prescriptions for my bf and me and since we moved to Bothell 3 years ago, and of all the staff in the pharmacy (of any pharmacy I've ever been to), Christina is the only one who remembers our names, which medications we're on, and takes the time to double check any dosage changes with us. She also goes out of her way to make sure we always have what we need, whether it's chasing down our doctors for refill scripts, providing medication to tide us over while they wait for a new shipment of our prescription, or some other "extra mile" step. In general, the other staff members (pharmacists and cashiers alike) provide good service, but without her, the pharmacy at Bartell would be comparable to any other store, like Walmart, Walgreens or Target. Christina is the reason we go out of our way to keep using Bartell Drugs' pharmacy department (and every year I write a note to corporate for her). read more

Hmmm...do they have that caramel corn I love?! The pharmacy team has always been friendly. And quick! They seem to really care about us as customers and are willing to not only answer questions, but make suggestions as well (even coming from behind the counter to show products and compare brands). We enjoy searching for the deals here, too. What would cost $7 at a grocery store often costs half of that here. And they have quirky treats that I can't find anywhere else (hunt down the "Cosmos Creations Caramel Corn" -- yum!). One of the odd things is that they escort you to the restroom should you need it. In fact, if you ask to use the restroom, they page that they need assistance to the back room. I gave a smirk to the older woman who came to escort me and mentioned I was grateful for her company.
