Shuttle tracks from Oakland Coliseum to the airport.

Great addition to the Oakland Airport and Bart. Very convenient and runs frequently.....just not sure if it's running during Shelter in Place.

Living in the EastBay and flying out of Oakland airport all the time made for this connection a godsend! This short connection from the Coliseum BART station to OAK was a long anticipated extension that I don't mind taking. Gone is the pain of looking for exact change of $6 just for a bus ride! Here's a few things you might wanna take note of: ~ It's just a three car train with probably half of the blue seats reserved for the elderly, pregnant, and blind. ~ The other half, as well as the front and tail end of the seats are open with ample standing room for you and your luggage. ~ Fire extinguishers are located under the handicap seats. ~ No food or smoking allowed, thank you. ~ Call buttons and emergency speakers just in case. ~ The announcement and loud speakers are, well pretty loud. You won't miss hearing the rules. ~ There's a marquee up above with station and other helpful information. ~ Plenty of glass all around the train for a great view of Oakland. Sure my buddy John M. may think it's overpriced. Okay, yeah maybe it is, but to me it's a time-saver! And an Economy Parking money saver; Spending over $80+ on airport parking simply blows.

Super Easy and Economical Way To Get To The Oakland Airport !!! I Love It !!! I recently had a Party I had to attend in LA a while back . So I decided to fly this time . Air Bart is easy to use . I stashed my Whip at the San Leandro BART station . Free Parking . Jumped on Bart there and rode to the Oakland Coliseum Bart Station . Then Transferred to the Air Bart Tram which goes straight to Terminal 1 at the Oakland Airport . Since its Elevated its almost a non stop ride. It was a Short Walk to Southwest Airlines . The Trams are Fairly New and Very Clean . They have plenty of room for Luggage . Round Trip From San Leandro Bart its under $16 not Bad at all. Air Bart is Baller On A Budget Approved !!!

This was my first time in the bay area without a car. I flew into OAK and decided to try out their BART system. The AirBART shuttle was quick and easy to locate right out of the door after baggage claim. There is a machine located steps in front of the pick up to purchase your $3 ticket or you may pay cash (exact change only) on the shuttle bus. The shuttle picks up on the middle curb at A3 I believe. The line was very short when I hopped on but it sure did FILL up FAST. We were at maximum capacity but I was able to get a seat up front and slide my luggage under my seat. The trip to the Coliseum station takes 12 minutes and drops you right at the entrance. I'd surely use this form of transportation in the future - it's 7x less than a cab into San Fran.

I put off riding the AirBART connector train forever, just assuming it would be crazy complicated like the old bus system (remember that madness?). How wrong I was! AirBART is not only super simple to use, it's almost luxurious. The trains and station are super new, clean, and spacious. It'll get you from Coliseum BART to OAK airport in about 8 mins, and the trains run every 5 minutes during prime time (8am-8pm). Here's how it works: - Simply exit Coliseum/Airport BART station - Follow signs to AirBART - Use your BART ticket or Clipper card to enter the AirBART station - Hop on the tiny train and cruise to the terminal! I used to take Uber to OAK because the BART-to-Bus situation was super whack. But now it's streamlined, making BART to OAK just as easy as riding to SFO. Go Oakland!

Convenient, and relatively cheap. A shuttle runs between the Coliseum BART station and OAK every ten minutes. It's a low-body bus with luggage racks. These days it just makes one stop halfway between the two air terminals, so the routine is very simple. It costs $3, exact change, each way. We considered taking a van home, to save us some trouble. At the "reserved van" stand the clerk directed us to the reservation phone, which nobody answered. Then she directed us to the "on demand van" stand, where the front driver quoted us $45 each, then $60, within a 15-second period. Both quotes are outrageous, and we decided then to ride BART back into town. Friday night, 7 pm, we had no problem. BART and Muni were only half full at this hour, and we made it home in record time. Thank goodness for luggage with wheels.

So much better than the old "AirBART" (aka bus) option from getting to and from the airport & Oakland Coliseum.

This station does not have a ticket station, or bathrooms. There's seating and trash containers. The area is not the cleanest and I have seen homeless individuals near the station. The trains are always dirty so I take my Clorox wipes and Lysol to wipe and spray down my seats. There's a handful of seats on bottom train compartment and ample seating upstairs. There's racks for your bike and luggage. Restrooms provided throughout the train as well as, the cafe for snacks. Overall, a pleasant ride despite the loud noise coming from the kids laptop across from me.

I typically transferred from blue line to orange line at Bay Fair. One time this guy got on singing along with his boom box about a gun in his pocket and taking out people he doesn't like while slapping his pocket. The guy was nuts and the car immediately cleared out. Massive exit to the next car. Cops showed up at Lake Merrit station and pulled him off. I decided riding BART just wasn't worth the risk and adjusted my hours and started driving. PIn later years when I lived closer and didn't need to commute I would access Bart at Fruitvale since it was the closest station. Easy to get to via Uber or a number of bus lines. Again, back in the day you really had to pay attention to the crowd around. People getting mugged constantly and/or just harassed. Present day. I have recently started using Bart from Fruitvale again to get to Oakland, Berkeley and Lafayette when I'm meeting up with my partner and don't want to have 2 cars out and both of us driving home in two separate cars or when I drop off cars at our mechanics for service that takes a couple of days. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised, and that is not an easy feat with me after so many bad experiences. In recent trips i have not seen any rando characters. No one has asked me for money. No one hanging out with a sign asking for money while pimping out their kid. People were well dressed and polite. I know call me f'ing crazy. This is Fruitvale BART. The place was actually clean. Not sure if the new fair jumping gates helped or just BART realized the issues and worked to clean it up. Back in the day I would have given it a minus 5 stars but today it's going to 3 in the positive. As I use it more I may up the rating.

If you are taking taking the ferry/bart from the city, spending a day near Lake Merritt, Old Oakland, City Center, Chinatown or Jack London Square, this free service allows you to roam up and down downtown length of Broadway fairly easily. There are a dozen or so stops-pretty much located by anything you'd want to go to. There are some flaws. The scheduled time of one bus every 15 minutes doesn't always happen. Most times you are looking at a 20-30 minute wait. It can be super packed, especially the stretch that runs by Chinatown, so it's highly likely you'll be standing or at least sharing a not very comfortable seat most of the way. Some of the drivers are super professional others not so much. Mostly however it's pretty awesome. For one it's free and allows you to easily roam all over downtown Oakland. This makes it easy to bounce down to Chinatown or swans market form the office buildings near lake merrit for lunch or dinner, or a spot of shopping. Handy for getting to jack london square or the amtrak station as well. Perfect for happy hour bar hops. Did I mention the free part? 'Cause that's the best thing evah.

The ferry was my mode of transportation from Alameda to SF and return. Ahh...quite an enjoyable commute on the weekdays. Even though the fare was more than traveling by BART, my preference was to travel above water than under the San Francisco Bay. On a BART train there is no restroom facility and a snack bar. My evening commute to Alameda was relaxing and mellow with a Kahlua and cream in hand. The Main Street Terminal is about 10 minutes from home. That was such an easy commute home. Arrival time for the ferry was at 11 AM, Alameda. The purpose of my visit was a Juneteenth event in plaza area. The one way trip to SF took almost an hour, but it was well worth it. In quite a distance away, a bunch of us passengers saw a hump back whale. That was quite a sight. I couldn't pull my cell phone fast enough for a photo. It has been several years I boarded at the Main Street Terminal. I believe the one way fare is about $4.70. There will be more ferry rides in the future.
