There is zero security in the parking lot. Now, I catch the bus or Uber here, depending on if I'm in a hurry. I do like the Clipper Card only, which has been in effect for a while. They also upgraded the Bart fare gates, so the fare jumpers can't just jump over like they used too. The prices are still reasonable, way better, and quicker, than driving!!

We have our shiny new entry/exit gates that reduce the risk of fare evasion! They even fixed a gap between the gate access entry and the new gates which I saw someone jump on day one. Now, you gotta really want it to get in and out for free, and frankly, I don't think the fare evasion community has what it takes with these new gates. We are back in the 5 star Yelp game people!

Well sometimes they offer special ferries for the Giants or Warriors games in SF. Atmosphere - On the Alameda side - I hike/bike here at times as well. Plenty of parking, 250 spaces and no overnight parking allowed. 20 bike racks available, the ferry is bike friendly as well. 24 bike lockers available. AC Transit = 21 line. Public restrooms, don't expect much. On the SF side - We have the ferry building here. Plenty of public transportation and ride share. But I mostly either walk to meet my friends or have someone pick me up. Service - 5 stars. My favorite form of travel. Prices have gone back up slightly, but still very affordable. Thank you. Approximately 20 minutes to get to SF. Also, since I have lived in Alameda, the ferry service has always been on time. This ferry, similar to Sea Plane, operates only Monday to Friday. So if you go on a weekend, you need to take the main ferry. Price - $5.10 one way with a clipper card. Still almost 50% off versus pre-pandemic prices, thank you. Also, I just discovered the main ferry only cost $2.85 to go to Jack London Square; so why am I still driving to the Rosenblum winery??? Wait, I also just discovered a free water taxi and I can't wait to try that! The Main Island Ferry special event tickets - $11.25 to Chase Center. Oracle Park - $19.25 from Vallejo. Must buy tickets online and the clipper card is invalid. Owner Comment - Thanks for having a ferry on the south side of the island! So much better than having to drive to SF.

I typically transferred from blue line to orange line at Bay Fair. One time this guy got on singing along with his boom box about a gun in his pocket and taking out people he doesn't like while slapping his pocket. The guy was nuts and the car immediately cleared out. Massive exit to the next car. Cops showed up at Lake Merrit station and pulled him off. I decided riding BART just wasn't worth the risk and adjusted my hours and started driving. PIn later years when I lived closer and didn't need to commute I would access Bart at Fruitvale since it was the closest station. Easy to get to via Uber or a number of bus lines. Again, back in the day you really had to pay attention to the crowd around. People getting mugged constantly and/or just harassed. Present day. I have recently started using Bart from Fruitvale again to get to Oakland, Berkeley and Lafayette when I'm meeting up with my partner and don't want to have 2 cars out and both of us driving home in two separate cars or when I drop off cars at our mechanics for service that takes a couple of days. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised, and that is not an easy feat with me after so many bad experiences. In recent trips i have not seen any rando characters. No one has asked me for money. No one hanging out with a sign asking for money while pimping out their kid. People were well dressed and polite. I know call me f'ing crazy. This is Fruitvale BART. The place was actually clean. Not sure if the new fair jumping gates helped or just BART realized the issues and worked to clean it up. Back in the day I would have given it a minus 5 stars but today it's going to 3 in the positive. As I use it more I may up the rating.

Glen Park is my BART station. I mean it is the closest to my house in San Francisco. But beyond…read morethat, I claim it aesthetically. I am not alone either, as others have praised it for its Brutalism. The style is not one I favor generally. The Embarcadero, which isn't even pure Brutalism, displays its flaws. It is deliberately off putting and inspiring of human distress. Or if not intentional then with reckless disregard of the needs of most persons for an assurance they are welcomed and valued. The architectural school, however, is enjoying a renaissance because of how it photographs. The massed concrete and simple forms look great and even profound rendered as social media squares the size of thumbnails. The discipline is evident. The John Wick like commitment to a vision more or less indifferent to emotional yearnings for a sense of community. If you have any interest, then, in seeing a magnificent example of the maligned movement, this is worth a stop. If you are a street photographer, it is a half hour well spent. But if you are just commuting back and forth, it is another station in a vast system. As they go, it performs its function. A work friend was shocked to learn people review anything other than restaurants on this platform. I regard it as a good use of Yelp to do so. Perhaps this will help out an aspiring architect or a photographer with this interest.

I took the first bus out on Saturday (9:30ish) from Sutter/Leavenworth and it took about 35 minutes to get to the Marin Headlands Visitor Center. I took the 2pm bus back from Field/Bunker Road. The signage painted on the asphalt is wrong so wait on Bunker Road just past the stop sign and wave at the driver so he knows to stop for you (closest stop to the visitor's center). Great way to avoid the hassle of parking, tolls, and traffic. I brought a book with me and the ride was great-amazing views along the way!
