Was in the East Bay and wanted to head out to Modesto to visit my cousins for the day so I rode the train on out. I caught it in Richmond and road out to Stockton. Round trip was under 20 bucks . The Amtrak station is just right on the other side of the Richmond Bart , its pretty easy to catch if riding the Bart out that way. The ride was pleasant, it's mostly along the edge of the bay, I enjoyed the views. I arrived in under an hour and a half. I forget how much I like riding trains until I'm back on one again. Take a ride on the train sometime, sit back and enjoy the unbeaten path and views.

It's a connection point no bathroom service on platform. Watch for other freight trains as they come through at maximum authorized speeds. Do not dilly dally stay behind yellow line, seen to many close calls the train always wins and Darwinism takes over.

I actually had a bad feeling as I drove away, although she thankfully made it home safely. I'm so grateful for that. Once I dropped my friend off here, I left because I just didn't feel that it was a safe area. I personally don't ride Bart because I don't feel it's safe sadly, although hopeful that one day it will improve. If you can afford it I would Uber/Lyft if you don't drive. I personally stopped riding Bart altogether a long time ago since there are a lot of sketch people on it and if something goes wrong, there is little you can do and they don't seem to have a grasp on who is actually on it so if a crime is committed there is little you can do. It's a serious safety concern for me and simply not worth it if there is any way, I would avoid it. Bart please prioritize the safety of people more and better track who is getting on and off Bart for the safety of all passengers. Please also take more measures to increase response times when things do occur. Some of these Bart stations feel like a third world country. Californians deserve better and we deserve transportation services that are safe.

Roundtrip for two was under $20 and the ride was around 30 minutes or so. The staff were all incredibly helpful for our first ride to SF during an evening with a kiddo. They gave us a pamphlet that has weekday/weekend times for future rides, and I noticed they have a 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' program that leaves from Richmond to an upcoming Giant's Game & back. There's plenty of parking (non metered) and even a Rosie the Riveter National Historic Park to explore if arriving early to the area. There's also a Columbia outlet (you can get a complimentary pass) from visiting the Park for entry there too. Not sure if the pickle ball at the Craneway Pavilion is still in action, it wasn't during our recent trip..or the restaurant Assemble either. If anyone has updates on that, feel free to share with me too! All in all, such a convenient way to enjoy a SF happy hour and dinner, with beautiful views on the adventure there/back. Also, there's snacks on the ferry AND drinks like seltzers, beer, wine, and spirits for purchase. So if you're looking to have a cheers during sunset on the boat, you can do that too! There's several times for the weekend ferry, I would do a bit of research ahead of time. We didn't have clipper cards to add money onto, so we purchased our roundtrip tickets once we boarded onto the boat with the staff. You pay/they print your roundtrip ticket that you keep with you for the return boat back. What a way to travel! Until next time...

I saw her dozens of times at work afterward, and I may have given her rides to her distantly parked car or wherever, but this was the final place far from work that we ever saw each other. I've been back here a couple of times since, and I cried both times while waiting on the platform. In public. And I did not care--at least the first time. It's A-OK as far as East Bay BART stations go. You'll recognize its familiar design, the feeble attempts to make it slightly unique, and its atrociously confusing name. Really, BART, one station is named El Cerrito Plaza, and another is named El Cerrito Del Norte? That's what you've got? Do you think BART riders get confused because Lake Merritt, Fruitvale, and Coliseum Stations don't have Oakland in their names? No? Then why did you insist on putting El Cerrito in both El Cerrito stations' names? People generally do well with landmarks, but mainly, they don't like being confused. Using the same words in the names of stations that are close to one another isn't being usefully specific; it's being needlessly confusing. Pick something and go with it. This station seems to have more pigeons than most, or more accurately, there's more pigeon guano on its platforms than seems necessary and/or healthful. Why do they like this particular station? Who knows? I was leaning two stars, but then I thought of Brenda telling me to be safe when she dropped me off, and how could I two-star a place that still reminds me all these years later of that blue-haired weirdo?

But what this line has going for it is the fact that it stops downtown at all of the stations. But this went to a three star review because it goes to the San Francisco Airport and I love that! It's so much easier than the old $2 shuttle to to the airport. Last time my hubby and I traveled back from Mexico, we caught BART from the station and it was so easy. I really loved that! The line closes pretty early. At one point, I was leaving a concert, Taj Majal in the city and my husband, his son and I had to crawl under the gate as it was closing to get into the station. For such a lively, party city, they should have later trains than they do. So, while I don't go to SF much, I'm glad that I can make it. Also, I love that if I need to take Muni, I'm able to get on at a station or close to a station. I do wish that it went more places than it does, but it is what it is. It goes where it goes and that's fine. But there are other places that I'd like to go to in the city and can't get there because BART doesn't go there. But it's there when I need it, so it's all good.

REVIEWER # 3 PROS:…read more-BART is VERY convenient (Well, so I thought). I decided to move work locations because, honestly, public transportation is better than driving to work especially with the high increase of traffic within the last couple of years. -BART has stations in almost all key parts of the Bay Area. There is literally no need to drive in the Bay Area! CONS: -BART is not the MOST reliable form of transportation. No matter how early I get up for work....I can NEVER make it to work on time because of those damn BART delays! COME ON, BART! We have to get better at this. I do understand that "things happen" but this is happening WAYYYY to much. -Every other morning there seems to be come suspicious activity happening in SAn Francisco BART Stations and once my train gets to West Oakland Bart the operator announces that the BART train is going out of service! WHAT? INSANE! So EVERYONE off boards the train then 2 minute later the operator comes back and states that the train is back in service! OMG! TIP for you? Why don't you tell your operators to NOT off board people on the train until they are CERTAIN the train will be going out of service, please! -Okay, I understand that there have been new operators and it may be there first time driving a big train BUT I am really starting to hate the sudden stops that occur when I am trying to enjoy my ride. The operators slam on the brakes and all you see are people flying all over the train. I have to admit that there have been times that I have lost my balance because of the sudden stops. Please BART, let's get it together! I have to admit, that I thought BART topped any and all public transportation in the world until I went to Hong Kong and seen there transportation and was WOW'd! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/%E6%B8%AF%E9%90%B5%E6%9F%AF%E5%A3%AB%E7%94%B8%E7%AB%99-%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF?select=Pr1Qk5KD0JY_C0YpMwsBdw BART, just a word of advice? How about you follow the model from HK and I truly believe that we can reduce some of the delays and people killing themselves on the tracks! I really hope BART gets better at these delays! It's frustrating and quite ridiculous, if you ask me! Let's work on being on time. Oh yea, what happened to the new trains that we are supposed to be seeing? Oh yea and you give fees for riders who take up 2 seats, right? Well, who is responsible for catching those people? Because every morning the homeless are sleeping on the seats and ride the train from start to end and NO ONE is able to sit down! ARGHH! If you implement rules I think you should have BART Police monitoring trains. What do you think?

I'm from DC (Daly City) and wasn't familiar with the East Bay BART stations; especially two stations with identical sounding names. However, it was a fortuitous mistake as it's in a fairly safe neighborhood with a strip mall directly across the station. There's also a good number of underrated places to eat in the area. It doesn't have a huge parking lot, or even a huge parking structure like some stations, but it's adequate enough for the area and it's easy to navigate in and out off. It has a very secluded and intimate feel to it. I also like the fact that the rails are elevated above ground so you can view the surrounding neighborhoods and area. It makes one's commute much more pleasant if you look out the windows and see the sunrise or sunset on any given day. Structurally speaking, its minimal, simple design doesn't stand out. However, the plum trees planted in the parking lot separates it from the rest. Especially when the flowers bloom in late winter. They almost rival the Cherry Blossom trees when it comes to beauty.
