Upon seeing this, I immediately knew that talk of politics should probably be avoided and I should just browse around, possibly make a purchase and leave. Being that my car needed a rest after an exhausting day in the desert, I figured I'd browse for a few minutes and then grab a beer. The shop, crowded with various military clothing, accessories, tools, boots, about seven kittens wandering around and some sort of living room arrangement with two arm chairs and a TV had a very homey feel. While I looked around the owner of the shop asked what exactly I was looking for and was able to lead me to a variety of used desert and woodland camo pants and jackets. Friendly, but not pushy, we ended up getting into a conversation about where I'm from, cross country road trips and where we've both been. When asked if I had any Native American blood in me (it's my high cheekbones apparently), I responded with a no. The owner (or maybe not the owner) is part Lakota, which then lead to an interesting conversation about Native American history, the past and current treatment endured by the U.S. government, various massacres and our feelings toward the Black Hills of South Dakota. Then we talked about guns, construction, and dogs to top it all off. After trying on a pair of used Belleville combat boots with Gore-Tex lining which normally cost over $120, I decided to get a few pairs of camo pants (to be made into cutoffs), a jacket, and the pair of used boots. Total purchase: $63. Not bad. In the end, it really seems one of those places where you don't need to make a purchase every time you enter. Just talking and having a smoke with the owner will be worth stopping by for.

If you've ever had gallbladder issues you know the pain. So the Dr I saw there wrote me a prescription for pain pills. He gave me 20 to last a bit until I could see my primary once I got home. So I call the pharmacy the day after I got back to Barstow because I got back late the night before from Sunrise Hospital in Vegas. I ask what was ready. I was told I had 3 ready and also told them I didn't want one of them. I was NEVER told the amount of pills in each bottle EVER.When my husband got back with them I took the medication out of the bag and instead of 20 pain pills I got 7. Was NEVER told this over the phone that my insurance would only cover 7 nor was my husband told there was only 7 when he pick it up. So I call to ask why I only got 7 when I was supposed to get 20 and was told my prescription plan only wanted to cover 7, and she insisted that we were told this over the phone and upon my husband picking them up which is a flat out lie. Wish I knew who I talked to because I would have post the liers name. One thing I can't tolerate is a lier. I told her that they need to talk to their employees and whoever answered the phone because apparently their not doing their job right. I then told her if I would have known I would have paid cash.....now listen to this line of bullshit....she tells me since I have insurance I CAN'T pay cash like I'm some Fkn idiot that doesn't know better. I don't have to use my insurance for any fkn prescription I get and can cash if I want. I tell her that's a bunch of crap because I've paid cash before in the same kind of situation at Right Aid because she had told me NO pharmacy in Barstow would let me pay cash since I have insurance...LMFAO! Well she tells me Rite Aid is a chain and that's different...now I've just put my boots on because the bull shit is coming through the phone....oh really now? Then Prescription Shoppe had let me pay good Ole cash before too. Well the only reason we were at Teplow Drug anyways was because Rite Aid sent everyone's information there when they closed....we are definitely changing pharmacies because like I said....one thing I can't tolerate is a bull shit lier and she really though I was STUPID enough to believe her crap....lady you have me confused with one of your other customers that actually believes you BS! Yup...they walk amongst us! P.S. Teplow Drugs My Sucralfate Liquid wasn't covered....and guess what? We paid CASH! Plus we told you to order it since I really needed it for my abdominal pain and was told it would be in the next day. Next day I call and was told...We didn't order it because it wasn't covered. Ummmm we told you to order it and we would pay the $65 cash and now I'm being told it wasn't ordered? So once again we're told it will be there the next day at which we wanted to cone down and pay for it to make sure I could get some stomach relief!

This store had shoes for hubs!!…read more It was a miracle!! Now we did stop on purpose to see if it was possible to find him shoes. And holy cow!! Size 15 4x wide!! Do you believe it?? Not only that. It was a sale weekend!! We got 2 pairs of Reebok's for him. And..... if that wasn't enough, they said I could get 6 pairs of socks (a package) for just $5.00 for each pair of shoes purchased. I got 2 packages. (They wouldn't fit hubs) They are the most comfortable socks I have ever worn!! So happy for hubs, he's been wearing them a couple of weeks now, and his back feels great.

We were greeted immediately by Iris and she led us right to the spot with all of the larger sized shoes. Looked through them all and found two pairs to purchase. As we were looking, another sales lady alerted us to the sock deal - 6 pairs for $5 if you buy a pair of shoes. This was perfect for us, since I needed shoes and my wife needed some decent socks. We are pleased customers already looking forward to our next trip that takes us to or through Barstow, because we will be stopping at Reebok for sure.

They were pretty well stocked, and had items I liked. It was not a long stay, as there store was not busy at all, and checkout was quick and painless. The prices here are pretty good, and the place has tons of good merchandise. The worker here was very nice, and engaged us in conversation before we made our way back to the car. The men's selection seems a bit smaller compared to what is was previous and sales are not as good as they used to be. Usually stop by here a couple times a year while on the way home from Vegas, though haven't found anything the last few trips as selection has been sparse. The employees are very friendly and always willing to assist, so that is a positive, even if you can't find what you're looking for. You can also go online and have a much bigger selection if you're fine waiting for it to ship versus having it in hand.

We went back so that he could buy more of the exact same shirt. They were on sale last month - yippee! My husband has a nice jacket which was a gift. And, most recently, I bought the cutest linen blend culottes to wear to the beach on vacation. They were half price on clearance. They have high prices for quality clothing and accessories. Always have nice new dresses and tops & bottoms available with each season. However, I always shop the clearance racks first! Haha. Great deals there! Customer service is awesome. I never felt unwelcome. I did miss the ladies who helped me on my first couple shopping visits. The young lady and gent who were working there on our last visit (in June) were okay. The guy was helping other customers, but still grabbed a size for me (clearance item) from the back. He was nice and complimented the fit. I needed some beach wear for summer. Cute linen culottes to go with flip flops or platform sandals. Perfect for vacay mode (and getting away from the desert)! I never shopped at DKNY before moving here, but will always go when at the outlets to see what's new or on sale! Love their jackets, but it's just too hot here - even during the wintertime.
