I'd been seeing chiropractors on and off for years to manage pain that came and went, never really getting to the root of the problem. When I developed persistent thumb joint pain from long hours at the keyboard, a family member practically dragged me in to see Dr. Triestman -- and it completely changed my approach to care. Dr. Triestman is incredibly knowledgeable. He used Active Release Techniques to address the issue directly and gave me targeted rehabilitation exercises to do at home. His empathetic, patient approach put me at ease from the very first visit, and I was pain-free far sooner than I expected. The best part? Instead of the every-other-week visits I used to rely on, I now only need to see him a few times a year to keep everything tuned up. His office is also conveniently located in the heart of Truckee, which makes visits easy whether you're a local or just passing through. Truly awesome care. Thank you, Dr. Triestman -- you're my hero! read more

Dr. Barry knew exactly what to do to fix my pain, first visit. I've been to dozens of chiropractors due to EDS, and this is one of the rarer ones who can not only put your joints back, but figure out what caused it, fix that, and then give you homework to make it better. I was visiting Tahoe and through a series of unfortunate events messed up my SI and lower back in a way that I couldn't fix myself. After a few days of pain, I started looking for help. Dr. Barry got me in immediately, listened carefully to my lengthy medical history and restrictions, then proposed treatment that was aligned with my practitioners back home and my intuition on what had gone wrong. 30 minutes later I was moving again and practicing the exercises he gave me to prevent a repeat, which were a nice progression on what my PT at home had given me. Everything about the experience was easy and chill. Extremely reasonable prices. He's even served by the free TART shuttle. Oh if you are a skier, you'll appreciate the memorabilia up everywhere. :) read more

Barry Triestman, DC, DACBN - Ski area signs - Chiropractors Near Me - Truckee, California

I was having horrible lower back pain and Dr Triestman was able to relieve the pain almost immediately. He has given me exercises to train my body so that I will strengthen my back and improve my posture. His videos are a great resource so patients can review their exercises to make sure that they are being done properly. I especially appreciate that he has checked on me regularly to make sure that I am progressing and not experiencing any more acute pain. I have never been comfortable visiting a chiropractor because I dislike the traditional "back cracking" adjustments and Dr. Triestman has treated me using other methods such as an active release techniques and pilates based functional rehab which are amazing. I highly recommend him. read more

I was in Truckee on vacation when I ran into a health problem with my hip and lower back. Dr Barry fit me in the day after I called him and he was able to solve the problem in one visit and give me follow-up exercises to help prevent the problem again. I'm very grateful to him and he made the rest of our road trip more enjoyable since I was more mobile after seeing him and in a lot less pain. I highly recommend him to anyone in the area. read more

Dr. Barry has done a great job helping me restore and maintain good health. I feel better in my 60s than I did in my 40s. Dr Barry is great! I've been getting art for a while now and I can say with certainty that he has really great hands, a must in a chiropractor. I had been dealing w a hamstring issue since I had knee surgery in February and he was able to get my pain to pretty much stop after only a couple of visits. I can't overstate how amazing it is not to be in pain all the time now. Highly recommend! read more

I had a great experience with Barry. He's direct and gets right to the point. I came with problems with my knee that was getting in the way of running, and Barry turned it around in a matter of weeks, both through active release techniques, explaining body mechanics, and suggesting exercises and strength work. I would absolutely go back to Barry with other soft-tissue types of issues. read more

I had been suffering from back pains for the past 15 years and in the last 6 weeks those pains had increased. Going snowboarding for the first time this year a few days ago increased the pain to the point I couldn't sleep. I saw Dr. Triestman the next day. Through a combination of adjustments and ART, I was virtually pain free immediately. Dr. Triestman also gave me exercises to prevent recurrence. Fantastic. I went for a second treatment two days later and received more relief and long term exercises. I can't say enough about Dr. Triestman and I wish I could see him more often, but have to travel back to the San Francisco bay area. read more

Dr. Triestman is amazing! I injured my elbow and was left debilitated. Honestly, I couldn't even pick-up my phone without inflaming my forearm tendons. Dr. Triestman explained my injury simply, applied Active Release, and gave me a few basic strengthening exercises. The next thing I new my elbow was healed. Dr. Triestman is knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, and thorough. Further Dr. Triestman is an athlete himself, so I trust that not only does he understand athletic injuries and how to treat them, he can relate to my need to get back on my mountain bike as soon as possible. I would like to highly recommend Dr Triestman. He is incredibly professional, respectful and a season expert at ART. Being an athlete he was able to relate to the injuries I sustained and was able to help treat me with his ART techniques. Dr Triestman is not your typical chiropractor with a talking skeleton. Dr. Triestman is the very best! Efficient and effective. Personally he is a pleasure as well which is a nice perk but he has really dramatically helped me with my shoulder and my husband with his hip and back. I've had lower back pain for years and went to a"traditional" chiropractor with some relief after the pain of getting adjusted subsided. However, with Dr Barry, he first gets me loosened up and the adjustment is extremely gentle and effective. After just a couple visits I feel better than I've felt in years! He has also worked with me to strengthen muscles in my back and fix my posture to correct the root cause of the issues I had. Highly recommend! read more

As an elite athlete training in the Tahoe area, I sought out treatment from Dr. Triestman to help with a nagging shoulder issue I had. Dr. Triestman went above and beyond to find the root cause of the issue. Dr. Triestman does not finish treatment when the time is up, he finishes treatment when he has resolved all issues. Being very active himself, he fully understands the athlete's body and therefore can properly address the issues in ways that far exceeded my expectations. Dr. Triestman's office is in a very peaceful and beautiful space- only adding to the delightful experience. I cannot recommend Dr. Triestman highly enough!! read more
