When I developed persistent thumb joint pain from long hours at the keyboard, a family member practically dragged me in to see Dr. Triestman -- and it completely changed my approach to care. Dr. Triestman is incredibly knowledgeable. He used Active Release Techniques to address the issue directly and gave me targeted rehabilitation exercises to do at home. His empathetic, patient approach put me at ease from the very first visit, and I was pain-free far sooner than I expected. The best part? Instead of the every-other-week visits I used to rely on, I now only need to see him a few times a year to keep everything tuned up. His office is also conveniently located in the heart of Truckee, which makes visits easy whether you're a local or just passing through. Truly awesome care. Thank you, Dr. Triestman -- you're my hero!

Dr. Barry knew exactly what to do to fix my pain, first visit. I've been to dozens of chiropractors…read moredue to EDS, and this is one of the rarer ones who can not only put your joints back, but figure out what caused it, fix that, and then give you homework to make it better. I was visiting Tahoe and through a series of unfortunate events messed up my SI and lower back in a way that I couldn't fix myself. After a few days of pain, I started looking for help. Dr. Barry got me in immediately, listened carefully to my lengthy medical history and restrictions, then proposed treatment that was aligned with my practitioners back home and my intuition on what had gone wrong. 30 minutes later I was moving again and practicing the exercises he gave me to prevent a repeat, which were a nice progression on what my PT at home had given me. Everything about the experience was easy and chill. Extremely reasonable prices. He's even served by the free TART shuttle. Oh if you are a skier, you'll appreciate the memorabilia up everywhere. :)

I cannot recommend Dr. Jared Andersen enough. Jared has a background in both acupuncture and sports…read moremedicine. I didn't even know that combination existed. I live in San Francisco, but spent the summer in Truckee and I had been experiencing a severe amount of pain in my neck and shoulder. I had had a trip to urgent care and was prescribed some prednisone which one it wore off the pain came back. The amount of pain that I was in was worse than anything that I had experienced in my life and the only way to manage it was heavy pain medication. I had a pinched nerve and a bulging disc at C5 and C4. Also I became unable to lift my shoulder more than 90°. My first visit Jared did a very thorough evaluation with different kinds of muscle testing and recommended some traction exercises to help me create some space in my vertebrae. These exercises only take me three minutes a day and I do believe are helping create more space between my vertebrae and free up the pressure on my nerves. We got the pain under control pretty much immediately through the acupuncture. Today I've been pain free for about 3.5 weeks. Can't tell you how amazing it is to be out of pain after being in so much pain for nearly 6 months. My life had become seriously altered due to chronic pain. I was unable to sleep on my side, my sleep was seriously disturbed and reading books or snuggling with my children became nearly impossible. Even after returning to San Francisco I actually made the 3.5 hour drive (one way) a couple of times to Truckee just to see Jared. I really believed in what he was doing. Every healthcare professional that I have seen, another acupuncturist, physical therapist recommended by my doctor, a chiropractor, and bodyworker told me that it was probably going to take a very, very long time before I would regain movement in my shoulder. On my last visit up to Truckee I saw Jared another two times in a row, this would've been my fourth and fifth visit. The morning after my fifth visit I was able to move my arm all the way up 180°. I was completely and utterly shocked. After various treatments, with multiple healthcare providers, sometimes I would think that I was seeing a degree or two of improvement but I never expected to see something like this. I can tell it's not yet perfect but I'm going to make another day trip, if you can believe it, just to see Jared to see if we can get it there all the way. Thank you Jared from the bottom of my heart. If you're looking for pain relief, look no further than Summit Sports Acupuncture.

I've worked with Dr. Jared for both a chronic injury that I'd not been able to resolve with several other practitioners (orthopedics, other acupuncturists, PT) as well as for a traumatic sports injury, and the results from a few sessions with Jared for both issues have been exceptional. Can't recommend his clinic enough. You'll both heal and get stronger at this place.

HIGHLY recommending my friend Jay for massage /bodywork; and this review is even more valuable…read morebecause I am more than qualified to give an opinion. I'm a massage therapist, I've had HUNDREDS of massage over my career. I also own a massage spa business in Telluride, CO. Jay has a Intuitive touch and is great with injuries and chronic pain/issues. His training in structural work is best for clients who really want to change their bodies and work toward being pain free/ or having a body that works optimally . Hope you are lucky enough to have him work on you--- and just go for it--Book 2 hours!!

I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone looking to work through a specific issue, or even if you just want a deep reset to the body. I initially began seeing Jay years ago for chronic lower back pain. He is the first person I call when I have a flare up, and need to begin repairing myself. What I should really be doing is seeing Jay on a more regular basis for this, to help prevent the issue from occurring. I have no doubt his methodical and purposeful body work sessions would do just that. I also experienced a knee injury last winter and began seeing Jay for this as well. At the time I was going to physical therapists, doing regular strength building exercises, and receiving acupuncture... in search of any way to relieve the pain. Without a doubt the most immediate relief I experienced was after a session with Jay. In a world where I seem to continuously beat up my body, I am thankful I have Jay to provide deeply effective structural integration. The session may be intense at times, but the favorable results cannot be argued with. His professionalism and well appointed massage studio are a bonus! P.S. I recommend splurging on the full 90 minutes. You wont regret it!
