When I told him it was my mother's emotional support animal he said, they're not allowed. I have taken this same dog to this park at least twice and it was never an issue. She has a special collar and identification, we even have a doctor's note. I don't get the fuss and bog deal... In my mother's case, she has PTSD, it's crucial for us to have the dog at all times. If you're an animal lover and cannot leave the house without your service animal, do not waste your time and/ or your $25. This parking fee of what people pay to park at amusement parks lol Never again.

I came here to enjoy dinner at the little seafood joint located in the park. I couldn't have asked for a better setting for my last meal on my vacation. The breeze from the harbor. The sun beaming through the fluffy clouds. I was almost too good to be true to be in such a perfect setting. But I was here, living in that moment. I couldn't have asked for a better park to eat my meal at. Everything I took in will forever be etched in my brain. A memory and feeling I will never forget.

There's a huge parking lot right next to a great sprinkler park (and there's a large, new playground next to the sprinkler park) with concession stand and bathrooms. Nice big park with swings for the babies and the big kids, as well as two jungle gyms for different age groups. There are fields for baseball, soccer, and a mini football field, as well as a nice long walking track around them. I really like that everything is open for visibility's sake, so I don't have to work hard to keep an eye on my kids, even from all the way across the park. It makes it somewhat hot without any shade, but it's not too bad since everyone is getting soaked on the splash pad anyhow. My only complaint is that it's pretty crowded here for much of the summer, so you have to keep a close eye on the little ones so they don't get run over by the bigger kids.

Parking is by a self-pay meter and is $5, entry to park itself is free. My boyfriend and I came here on a whim one crisp Saturday morning in September. We brought our mountain bikes and spent about two hours leisurely exploring the trails, which are paved only half of the time, but still well-maintained. There are many lush sights to see, both with colored/green trees and the Ipswich river (along the path) was a pretty sight as well, with turtles/ducks swimming nearby. We saw only a few people while on the trails, mainly people on bikes, but we did see some walkers as well. If you decide to walk, I would definitely suggest grabbing a trail map at the beginning of the trail, as there are many different routes along the way and it can get confusing without one. There is a giant treeless field at the center of the park which made for a great landscape for my boyfriend and me to take pictures using our tripod/camera. Overall, I would highly recommend this park for all ages/types of people!

Google maps directed us the wrong way, to the southern entrance, which is now an exit only! We had to drive 10 minutes round to get to Northern entrance.

Without a doubt, this is the NICEST playground you will find around…read more The Lincoln Elementary school has TWO seperate playground areas and BOTH are awesome. Both are completely fenced in by new black chain-link fence with closable doors. Both have that rubbery-surface thing going on which is awesome. Both have great jungle-gym sets made of all that new steel and plastic. They are both open for public use all the time and are plain awesome. They are different in that one is smaller and made for the younger kids, but the big kids will love it too. The main one along Washington Street is huge - has a giant slide, 2 tubes to climb through, and awesome climbing things. Kids love it. It's great cause once kids get bored of one playground, just walk around the corner to the next one. Awesome place to kill time with your nephews.

Swings are a little old and in new of an update, including one totally out of service. That's right, yelpers... parenthood and old age are staring you down. Cummings Park Playground is the favorite playground for my 1.25yr old. The climbing/play structures are built on large sand areas, so it's like a giant sandbox (with clean sand no less). There are quite a few donated toys lying around (many of which are trucks), so there's lots to play with. 3 toddler swings, 2 big kid swings. A small basketball court with one hoop. The whole park is nicely laid out. I feel perfectly comfortable just sitting back on one of the benches and letting him walk around and explore. The best part is that its primarily used by 1-4yr olds, and there is almost always some kids there to play with (especially in the mornings). It can get busy, but it never gets too busy/insane (like Alexander W. Kemp playground in Harvard Sq). Generally speaking, the big kids and teenagers keep away. The worst part is that it has very little shade. In fact, there is no shade on the climbing structures, so they can get hot in the middle of the day. There are a few trees, but they aren't positioned particularly well. All the exciting stuff that your kids will want to play with are in the sunny spots. So I would recommend it as a early/mid-morning playground.

The first thing that struck me about this park were the separate play areas for under 5 and over 5 kiddos. I tend to go to the park on Summer St but there is only one structure and when the bigger kids play Tag, I always worry about my daughter getting knocked over or off the structure. The under 5 structure has only one opening through which there is potential for a fall; otherwise, the panels are closed. The structure offers opportunity to develop the gross motor skills through climbing and crawling through tubes. I genuinely appreciate the three baby swings as well as the sand (vs wood chips). Another big bonus is that Whole Foods is just a short walk down the street. There is a small basketball court adjacent to the playground but doesn't seem to be frequently utilized. This definitely seems to be a more family friendly park!
