After 3 and 1/2 weeks I received a phone call to say the lab said they might be here middle of the week, making it 4 weeks. When I asked why I was told 'I don't know'. It seems Lyon's optometry could be more attentive following up on their glass orders with the laboratory. A 4 week wait is excessive, and I would expect them to follow up on late orders. I understand they are planning to roll out a concierge type service soon.

They charged me $600 for the glasses, and they charged medí-cal $100 for the glasses. When I got the glasses 4 weeks later, it was the wrong prescription, they told me they would need them back so they could send them back to the lab for another 4 weeks. I told them I need glasses sooner than that and requested a refund/return. They told me the don't do refunds. I found another place that got me the same pair of frames, same prescription and it only cost me $280. The glasses from the other place were ready in less than 5 days! I threatened to call the optometry board and the federal trade commission and they refunded me the $600. In short, these guys will gouge you with their prices knowing full well that you are on a fixed income, and receiving medi-cal.

You're waiting for drops to take effect, they go to see other patients and come back after a while. I have never had to wait so long in any other office for the exam after the drops. What an excellent experience I had at this practice!…read more I booked an appointment 4 weeks out to see the optometrist at the Santa Rosa Costco because my Costco in Ukiah does not have an optometrist on-site, so I was referred to Santa Rosa. When I arrived at my appointment 4 weeks later, I was informed that SR Costco does not take my insurance which is VSP, pretty common insurance! I figured would give Target optical in SR shot to see if they would be able to see me. I knew it would be a long shot but as I said I am from Ukiah and did want to waste the drive and really needed to renew my contact prescription which had expired right at the beginning of the pandemic. My other option and the least favorite option was to drive to the Bay Area to see my old optometrist. When I arrived at SR Target I explained my situation to the Optical office Manager and she went to check with Dr. Lee to see if he would be able to give me an exam. Looong story short, he did! Dr.Lee is amazing I had a great conversation with him in the exam room. Not only is he professional, knowledgeable, but he's also personable, energetic, and has a great sense of humor! And his staff has the same energy! I am a super fan of stellar customer service and because of that I will definitely return and make the 1-hour drive for my next appointment!

I went on Yelp and decided to make an appointment at this Target location. Dr. Lee was very energetic and thorough. He explained every step of the process. The basic exam included testing my existing glasses, vision test, visual examination of the cornea, peripheral vision test, and a glaucoma test. I opted to go for the retinal scan which was an extra amount but at my age, it's worth it. Dr. Lee has a state of the art machine that doesn't require dilating the eyes. It takes a digital picture of the retina and the optic nerve. He took the time to explain the health of my eyes. The basic eye exam here was $104 less than Kaiser and even with the extra charge for the retinal scan, it was still $65 less than Kaiser's basic exam. I highly recommend Dr. Lee!

When Dr Perrone finally showed up, he spent under two minutes with her, told her she had a sty (without actually looking, my mom says) and to just splash some hot water on it, and left. Not the office's fault that my mom got there without having arranged a ride home, but they were exceptionally rude and dismissive when she (in her mid-70s with bad vision, disabilities, and a cane) asked to use the phone or to look up a cab for her. My mom ended up having to hitchhike back to Guerneville - which took 5 hours and three drivers - instead of just letting her make a call.

I've seen both Dr Moore and Dr Wood, and appreciate their warm, calm, friendly approach...and the cutting edge technology they use. For a small fee ($10, I think) you can have your retina digitally scanned instead of dilated. A friend recommended this office to me for that reason. It's so worth it! I'm new to wearing glasses. I went into my eye exam this year convinced that I would not commit to a pair of glasses at the end of the appointment. Last time I didn't do enough research and felt overwhelmed and ended up with glasses that I didn't love. But this time I did some research, trying on glasses in advance to know what styles I liked/didn't. So, when I found a pair of Tom Ford frames this year that I liked on the display and on my face, I changed my mind and ordered them. Glad I did! All of the staff were friendly and helpful.
