They have just about everything you would need for a quick weekend project. Compared to other hardware stores in the area we have been very impressed by their staff. They are all very knowledgeable and helpful. Today we were looking for a couple of specialty screws and before we could even reach that section of the store two workers asked if we needed help with anything. In addition to hardware supplies, they have a really nice garden section with high-quality plants. We were particularly impressed with their hydrangeas, which were 2-3 times larger than other nurseries we have seen and listed at the same price. Also, worth noting this place is the spot in town to buy a Christmas tree! Right after Thanksgiving they ship in tons of trees and offer them for a flat rate. If you find yourself needing to stop by a hardware store I would highly recommend dropping by Jed's over one of the other big box stores in town.

They are much smaller in scale than a Home Depot, but offer more personalized service, and a faster and easier solution for most related needs. For example, when I purchased a gas grill from them, it was assembled and delivered on the same day of my order. They delivered it to my deck, ready to go. I needed to match a ten-year-old outdoor trim paint for my deck and didn't know what color was used. Not only did they scan it for a perfect match, but they also provided a free paint sample can (see photo) so I could test it. They provide one free paint sample per month if you're in their customer loyalty program. You can't get everything here, but you can get most things, and find them faster and easier than the giant box store alternatives. It looks like they are only located in Massachusetts, with 11 locations. I will return.

I contacted a grave monument company, and they had a very small selection of them, but they were three hundred bucks for a tiny tiny one!! No way. Finally, someone in a cemetery front office told me about Jungle Jim's. I had to call several times to find out when a new shipment of statuary was coming, but I kept at it... when the shipment finally did come, I went there right away. They had a very nice selection, and I was able to get a beautiful one for about sixty bucks. The staff was extremely helpful in assisting me with my shopping that day, and the covid pandemic had just started but they were really being safe about it. (I also bought a few plants for my deck, which performed wonderfully last summer. I bought a verbena and there were hummingbirds on it every day, all day!) I haven't put the cement planter at my Dad's grave yet, but I so plan to in Spring 2021. Not sure if it'll survive the New England winters being left there filled with dirt, but we'll see. It's a 2 hour trip from my house, so it's not easy to get there and tend it in the fall. But at sixty bucks, it's worth taking a risk. I noticed that they have a lot of other nice garden stuff, like obelisks, and I will be needing some of those too this spring. So, I'll be back!!

Between item cost and shipping, I spent an arm and a leg. Lo and behold, when I walked into New England Hydroponics, I discovered that not only did they have the same supplies I scoured the internet for, but it was all priced at least 50% lower than what I had seen online. The store is pretty large. It's kind of warm and cozy too, with lots of interesting ferns and cactuses on display throughout the store, happily soaking up light and soil. The store seems to have just about everything you might need to grow healthy plants. The staff was very friendly and great about offering help, without hounding you the whole time.

I attended their chainsaw safety course recently (no charge) and learned more about my chainsaw and how to safely use it. And this was year's after I purchased it. The class and their expertise were open to the public, not just past customers. Nice touch. You can never be "to safe" with a chainsaw. I've also had them service my little Cub tractor, even though I bought it second hand, they treated me great.
