Up to now the customer service has been good. Tonight the staff was horrible. To the detriment of not only my wallet but another family as well. I placed an order for a large and a medium pizza. They made two larges and charged me for it. They were willing to fix it if I waited another 20 minutes to make a medium. I didn't have the time to wait. The other family didn't even order wings but the person at the counter put it in the order and charged the family. They paid without realizing. While I was getting our sodas I heard two other staff explaining what they had done to that Mexican family. Then one asked the other to deliver the wings. THEY ACTUALLY HAD THE GALL TO DO IT! Horrible, horrible horrible !!!! The girl who delivered the wings didn't offer to fix the situation by offering a refund. They merely stated the mistake they made and left the wings on the table. That entire front counter crew knew it. Did it. Have no shame. They need the old crew back. read more

Ok, this place has good pizza, they seem to always deliver fast and their food is consistently good. They are my local pizza place (now a local chain), and I started going there like 30 years ago, and I'm still happy to eat their pizza! Way better than like any big corporate pizza. It's unfortunate to have to write this review for my family has been ordering from this Barros location for several years, but tonight changed our views of this place. We placed a delivery order and a part of the order was not received. I called to see if the driver could be reached to deliver the missing item and the response given was "I don't think we can do that right now because we're so busy". Wow! Manager was terrible. Called me up to pay the $3 difference on an order they got wrong! Ridiculous, especially since we also had to wait longer for the right order to be delivered. It is going viral that they kicked out a teenager just because they didn't have enough seats! This teenager is my nephew and I find it completely RIDICULOUS that they can take his money but when it comes to him standing in the building they have to kick him out?!?!?!!!!!! The food is good depending on who makes it. They may have new cooks, which may be why it's not consistent. They just recently added ordering online which is great but it doesn't recognize my address. Best dang lunch special EVER. 2.50 cents gets you 1 slice of pizza AND a drink... 3.50 cents gets you 2 slice and a drink... You can't beat those prices period. The quality is awesome, and if you're looking for something different, check out there specialty slices for 50 cents more. I used to love their pizza until recently. They gave less and less toppings over months. Last week I ordered a medium Kona, and the topping probably covered only 1/3 of the whole pizza. I've ordered from Barro's MULTIPLE times (over 20x) from different locations. My last 3-4 orders from the 7th St location have been poor. Pizza is either too way too cheesy, EXTRA greasy beyond what I've ever experienced, dough seemed not baked thoroughly enough and extra thick or chewy and dipping and wings sauces watered down and flavorless A's if they were rushed through. It's been very inconsistent, but inconsistently poor. I don't know what happened, but over the past year the quality of food coming from this particular Barro's has declined dramatically. My last purchase took about 20min longer than it was supposed to and the food was bad. When the manager gave me my food she just said "here you go" and pushed it toward me as if she was just getting it off her hands and didn't really give a damn. I was already annoyed because I had been waiting too long and there was no apology. I will not visit this location and probably no other location for the fear that the brand as a whole has declined. And it's unfortunate because Barro's was my "go to" for pizza since moving out here from Chicago in 2014. read more

My friends and I came in late after a movie last night. The hostesses did not welcome us and they were not knowledgeable about the menu or able to make genuine suggestions. We ordered a medium pizza while the restaurant was practically empty and it took at least twenty minutes to come. Also, not a single carrier had any Parmesan cheese in it. The only good things about our visit were the taste of the pizza and the low price. I will not return any time soon. read more

Great pizza, great atmosphere. They have a back room that I like to use/reserve for team meetings. Everyone likes it. Cheap salad bar with a lot of yummy or healthy options. I'm not much of a reviewer but I know customer service when I see one. The service in this location was truly an amazing experience especially when it was our first time eating Barro's Pizza. Kaitlyn (not sure if I spelled the name correctly) served us with an amazing smile despite of how busy she was. My wallet was found outside the restaurant which was wonderful news. It fell out when packing up my stroller with my two kids. I called to see if it was found. Then the time it took me to drive over there $20 cash was taken out by an employee and no one seemed to care when I talked to a manager. i went into this location for the first time since i was in the area and have always been very pleased with the one off of baseline in tempe. i went in to grab a salad and a beer before heading home (long day at work, went to the gym, bought a car... needed food and sleep). the girl at the front counter was a young hispanic? native? girl with glasses who was extremely rude when i ordered. she told me, "make it yourself" when i asked for no green olives or onion. as stated, i was tired and didn't notice the salad bar to my right and the only other location in tempe would make my salad for me in the back kitchen (pretty common with a to go order). anyway, it could've easily been stated "we have a salad bar to your right so you can feel free to add or remove whichever items you'd like." i even left a tip.. for a bad attitude and to take the top off my beer. with no "thank you" or "have a good night" when i left. as i was making my salad, that same girl was extremely rude to the other young girl/employee with glasses and asked "are you deaf?" when the other young girl asked "what?" to a demand being stated to her. i decided to sit at a table and eat my salad and drink my beer as i normally order a beer while i wait for my to go order (mind you: the front counter girl also stated, "you obviously can't take the beer to go".... well no shit). anyway, as i was sitting there that same girl was cleaning up after a table that had just left and as she was walking back with a bunch of napkins on a tray, she stated, "what a douche.. look what they did" and her voice faded out and all i could pick up was a few F words while she talked to another employee. i work in customer service and understand we all vent about customers but there is a time and place for it. if she hates her job so much, maybe she should find a new one. hopefully my tip goes to the other employees who actually appeared pleasant. i definitely won't be back to this location. 2 stars instead of 1 cuz i felt bad for those who have to work with her. read more

Barros is nothing like it use to be . I Remember back in 2002 when I first tried them there was so much cheese and topping they would fall off when trying to eat a slice and there salad bar was always fresh with ice cold dressing . Now it's two pieces of pep per slice and very lite cheese. There salad bar is disgusting new product dumped on old and not very cold . I'd like to tell you about my first Barro's experience. New to the neighborhood and got a coupon for a free, large one topping pizza. I called to see if I could get a 3 topping gluten free and pay the difference. I requested Ital sausage, green olives and mushrooms. The woman who answered spoke to the manager and told me it was all set., and would be figured out when I arrived. Imagine my surprise when I got there and received a small, gluten free pizza. It wasn't enough pizza so I called again and ordered the exact same pizza, small (since obviously any other size in gluten free is impossible) Ital sausage, green olives and mushrooms. Imagine my surprise when I went back for the 2nd time and got a pizza with green peppers rather than green olives. If this is Barro's way of welcoming me to the neighborhood and highlighting their great pizza, things fell pretty short here. I don't want to get anyone in trouble at this location, people need their jobs and it was obvious this woman was new, but if your staff can't take a correct order on the phone perhaps they could do something else in your restaurant? Just moved to Maricopa, AZ and ordered a medium hamburger and onion pizza and went to pick it up (They told me over the phone that delivery was about an hour). When I got home and opened the box, we thought it was a cheese pizza! Then we counted the pieces of hamburger on the pizza. Eight slices and 15 VERY SMALL pieces of hamburger! Can't say we will ever order Barro's again. Was kinda wondering if they put one slice of pepperoni in the middle of their pizzas and slice the pepperoni into eight small pieces. Take one of those eight pieces of pepperoni -- that was the size of the 15 hamburger pieces on our pizza. And no ---- we are not exaggerating -- the pizza was good, but never again!! read more

I have been coming to this location for years. I grew up down the street and worked at the 7st location in High school. I always order the combo meal 2 slices and drink. I told the cashier my order and she gave we everything but the drink, when I asked where my drink was (the meal comes with a drink) she got an attitude and said you didn't order a drink. She continued to be rude and charged me a dollar more than the meal should have been. In all my years of coming her I have never been charged for a drink that comes with the meal. Most Barros locations I have been too, are good. This one was terrible. We ordered some garlic bread to go with our pizza and what we got was burnt to a crisp on both sides. When we asked for some ranch to dip it in, and help moisten it up, the answer was yes for an additional charge. I would have asked for a refund, but we thought what's the point. The BEST Barro's in Phoenix, Scottsdale or Mesa for lunch. Absolutely. The crust is always consistently great, the number of pepperoni slices is dazzling and the help is consistent and friendly. The restaurant never smells like dirty water or sanitizer when you walk in and the booths/tables are clean. They handle crowds super quick. You can make your own salad (unlike Barro's in Mesa/Gilbert or Scottsdale) and they give a hefty helping of dressing with it (oh, the ranch is sooooo good! also, you can actually buy it in a large container for use at home). read more

I'd always heard great things about Barro's. Indeed the pizza was excellent BUT the service was not so hot. On my phone in order I was on hold for 4 minutes so I actually started driving to the store. When I pleasantly asked if perhaps they could throw an extra item on for free I was then referred to the manager. I asked him the same question but didn't really get an answer from him. I was treated rather abruptly by the staff as I entered. And no, I did not get an item thrown in for free. Ah, good customer service - apparently a thing from the past - at least for this store. I have been eating here since 1990. I love Barros. Lately they have fallen short and it's disappointing. I order my wings extra crispy-don't mind the wait as long as they are not slimy. Tonight I am sick and all I wanted was barros wings. My daughter ordered them to be delivered. I heard her say "extra crispy x3 please" Guess what? Gross. Slimy. Gross.
