Came here on Valentine's Day for a lowkey dinner. Such a cute restaurant and I love that it has a view of the tarmac. It was 8 and they closed at 9 but the hostess assured us we had time to sit and eat. It wasn't busy at all and our server was very friendly. The food was so good, although it came out a little cold but I know they were getting ready to close so it's fine. Overall we had a good time

Great location right next to Mesa Gateway Airport! I usually come to this area to watch the planes while I wait to pick up family members, but this was my first time coming into the restaurant. Dani was our server. She was super friendly and attentive... til it was time to pay. She offered tasters of different beers we wanted to try, prior to ordering a pint each. We all put our food orders in at the same time, but the nachos came out first and my BF was the only one eating. This WAS his entree and I wish that servers would ask more often if we'd like the food brought out at the same time or not, because it's not something I even think to ask in the moment! Once the rest of the food came out, it looked delicious, but ended up being very dry. The meat was dry on all of our sandwiches and the cheese was overcooked on the nachos. Definitely not something we expected for our first time but was still edible. Once we were done, Dani came around and mentioned bringing our check. 5 mins went by with nothing as she greeted tables. She then walked by and remembered we need our check. We sat and waited for our check to be picked up for 15 mins, while we watched her greet other tables and take their order. Just when we thought she was coming to get our check, she went to the kiosk at the bar to input her tables order and then into the kitchen! I ran out of patience at that point and walked the check over to the bar area, where she greeted me finally as she was walking out of the kitchen. I explained we've been waiting for 15 mins to pay our bill and she got a disgusted look on her face like I was inconveniencing her. I would like to come back for just beers only next time.

AMAZING spot! Great service & atmosphere! Great meal choices, lots of unique and good beers, yummy cocktails too. I love this local spot at the airport and it's always a good vibe. Spinach & Artichoke dip was one of my favorites I have had.

This place continues to be consistent, something that is hard to find these days. Didn't think it would be as busy as it was today, on a Friday at noon, but it seems everyone had the same idea in mind! We sat at the bar and had friendly service from the bartender. Although the place was super busy, the kitchen rocked it and the food came out hot & delicious! Great atmosphere and a perfect place to come unwind and hang out with friends! Always love seeing the planes right outside the windows

Barrio is literally inside by the airport. At first you might be a little puzzled where you are going but there is a big sign pointing to the entrance. It is next to the runway. We came here for lunch with a group. Our service was friendly. She was on top of everything and making sure we had our drinks filled and took our order in a good timely manner. I ordered the fish and chips. They were actually really good. The only thing that was meh was the coleslaw could have used more flavor. The prices are decent for the food quantity and quality.

Went again after being away for years and the experience was still good! Friendly server, we sat outside and got our order taken quickly. Food was pretty good, not super hot and the turkey panini was pretty dry but other than that it was a great date night. Got to watch a helicopter take off and loved the quick service

A really great brewery in an awesome location! It's definitely a fun spot for the whole family. Ask for a window seat to watch the planes land and take off all throughout your meal; pretty cool! Overall, I was impressed with Barrio! Inside has plenty of space, seats, and TVs no matter where you're sitting. Would be a fun spot to catch a game! Our service was excellent during our whole meal - sat in Lou's section, and he treated us so well! The beer was excellent! They have a pretty large selection and variety of their own brews. I recommend going with a flight to try a variety of them! Our food was pretty good as well. The wings were large and tasted great. Also tried the Southwest Chicken Panini, and it was good. Their kids meals were a great size compared to other places around. If you're looking for a new brewery to check out, you should absolutely add Barrio to your list! We will definitely be back!

We were in the area and decided to stop by. They were super short staffed which we knew due to the long wait yet half the tables were open. The same people were welcoming guests, taking orders, and serving food and beer. Since we knew that before being seated we understood. The staff was super kind though and apologetic about the wait. Food took a LONG time but the portions are great, the food is decent, and there are a lot of good beer options. You can also watch small planes out the window or sit outside on the lanai if it's not too hot. There's also a seating area at the bar too. Would recommend!

Ask the Community - Barrio Brewing

    Do they take reservations?

Good afternoon James! At this point in time we do not accept reservations, we hope to do so soon.

Do they serve mimosas or similar?

Yes! They serve a great breakfast & the mimosas as well as coffee are very good!

Are there any gluten free options to eat?

They have salads and stuff, not sure on their dressing options but I'm sure you could make something work. That being said, they are not the "specialty diet" kind of place, unfortunately. Hope this helps.

    Is this inside the airport?

No, it's actually separate- 5803 S Sossaman Rd Ste 45 Mesa, AZ 85212. Look for the big Barrio Brew Silo

Are there any gluten free drink options (wine, cider, or cocktails)?

Good afternoon Nadia, the majority of Rum, tequila and vodkas are gluten-free (we carry Tito's vodka which is 100% gluten free). We also have wine and Ace Pear Cider that is gluten free.… Read more

    Are dogs allowed on patio?

Yes, dogs are allowed on the patio. I asked about it while visiting here this afternoon.

Chupacabra was open, was a three-minute drive, and had excellent reviews. So my decision was made. I parked on the street for free a minute away on foot. Ambiance (3.5/5): Pretty much your typical beer bar. Relatively small inside, but they also have a patio out front with picnic style seating. Casual. My type of bar. My only complaint? I hate picnic style seating because it doesn't give you back support. Which made me want to avoid the patio. Service (5/5): Super friendly service. The guy working the bar did a great job. I ordered one beer and called it a night. A seamless experience from beginning to end. They also have complimentary water in a water cooler, which is always a nice ou Food (N/A): I read they have food trucks, but I didn't see any when I visited. I had dinner prior anyway. Drinks (4.5/5): I love trying new beers and Chupacabra has an excellent selection. They have a rotating screen above the bar. Some interesting brews, ranging from local craft brews to quality European beers. This is not the type of place that has your typical assortment of mediocre beers. You'll find a lot better here. Overall, a cool spot in downtown Mesa. I'd definitely return the next time I'm in the neighborhood!

For me, it was a big hike up to the north side- but totally worth the haul! I grew up in the Midwest, occasionally going to one or two German restaurant/ clubs, so this was not an unfamiliar atmosphere to me. It is definitely a "seasoned" vibe, having immediately taken over the space by a former western bar/beer hall that had been in existence for 50+ years. Their menu says "German and Hungarian" but all I read was German. They have a solid European beer selection, including taps and bottles and some cocktails with a German twist. The one that threw me for a loop (in the best way) was Kriek! So ofc I got a pint. We shared a (fairly large) pretzel to start, which comes with beer cheese. Tasty, but I was genuinely shocked there was no mustard. I ordered the jagerschnitzel (pork) and just overall the meal was as expected as if I was in the Midwest - amazing, delicious, insert chef's kiss. I wish I could have joined the clean plate club. The cucumber salad was flavorful and not too sour/pickley. My friend and I both noted how umami the savory sauce was- not too bacon, not too mushroom. The potatoes were not too salty or under-seasoned. Literally willing to drive up again if/when someone tells me to go. It wasn't horribly busy so it didn't take forever to order and get everything we needed. Our server was super nice and patient. She even gave a bar suggestion that ended up being a nice cherry for the top of the evening.
