I told him and asked him to come back and complete the job and he said it's normal for the weeds to come back and that a lot of his customers have him weed on a monthly basis... maybe a weed here or there, but I paid well for weeding and mulching to eradicate weeds and this was not our arrangement. Did not seem to understand that to keep weeds from growing back, he should have put down weed mat or sprayed - he did not do either and did not raise either as 'extra'. So, $300 for these areas and 2 weeks later it looks like my yard bed is heading back to where we started. Spraying here and there is reasonable as a homeowner, but as a landscaping company, I expected better service and more knowledge. He told me he did his job well and isn't coming back. I wanted to give a chance for someone to come back and correct, but he said no, so I want to leave an honest review for other yelp users looking for a similar project.

We work with master gardeners and designers so we don't generally hire LJ for landscaping. The total paid to LJ including labor and supplies was approx $30,000. Many of the projects were completed to our delight, some to our satisfaction, and most recently we noticed a slip in quality. Overall we recommend LJ. And would suggest Ro anyone engaging them to walk everything down - grading, elevation, proper footing, dimensions, methods TWICE. Go over everything twice. Make sure you are on the same page and that the final intended put-through end result is CLEAR. What they did: 1) retaining walls - mortared w flagstone (6) 2) retaining wall - dry stack w shale (1) 3) added stairs to existing wall (3) 4) flagstone walkway (4) 5) convert lawn to river rock bed (1) 6) add shale surfacing to compressor slab (2) 7) install compressor slab to protect/land HVAC and split compressors 8) weed, edge, mulch large garden bed (1) 9) install flagstone landings (3) 10) source, deliver and place large boulders (one pallet)

They were very skilled at making sure the limbs didn't damage any of our surrounding sheds, deck or trees when falling. My daughter was enthralled watching the tree come down branch by branch- it beat saturday morning cartoons for sure! The team did a wonderful job with clean-up and removal as well, they made sure all wood chips were off of the driveway, deck, patio and sidewalks. There were no little sticks left in the yard- you never knew a tree stood there or came down earlier in the day once Alex and his crew were finished with cleaning up.
