The bathroom had the most awful, early 80's, peach colored shower enclosure, I could not live with - and the counter was much too short. The backyard had a large lawn and a small deck - it was crying out for a more useful space for entertaining. My street generates a lot of traffic noise and I needed something to help reduce it. I also wanted an attractive trash/recycling bin deck, close to the street, for convenience. I looked for reviews and Emerald Valley Home Repair popped up. I like licenses and BBB ratings - Ted has them. He was professional in his walk through and intelligent, creative and confident with his advice and ideas - that he quickly put me to ease with his clear rapport I chose Ted Colee. My new larger kitchen space includes my necessary dishwasher and a couple new cabinets and sparkles with quartz counter tops throughout. He also replaced the lighting. The bathroom shower panels were removed and replaced with new bright white tiles. The deck steps down to a circular stone patio that allows for more entertaining and several large potted plants. I worked with Ted on ideas for the front driveway and we came up with a spectacular walled in - shingled and planter deck. It looks fantastic and provides more privacy in my front yard and most importantly, has reduced the road noise. The shingled trash/recycling/green-waste bin deck has a drop down ramp gate: So convenient! This was a series of jobs that effectively have turned this house into my home. Knowledge, skill, dependability, trust and respect are all vital in building that working relationship and creativity and flexibility complete the package. There was hair in the bed, stains on the sheets and comforter, visibly dirty floors, stained rugs, and a kitchen sink that drained very slowly. We were told laundry detergent would be provided, but there were no pods available. The home also lacked basic cleaning supplies, which was especially concerning given its condition when we arrived. The BBQ was clearly not properly cleaned or maintained. It had so much buildup that it caught fire inside and produced enough smoke to set off the home's fire alarms. The dryer also took an extremely long time to dry clothes. The hot tub was another major disappointment. We contacted the property in advance because of concerns in previous reviews, including reports of bacterial infections, yet it was still disgusting and had a strong fishy smell when we arrived. Someone was sent to "clean" it, but the solution appeared to be little more than adding chemicals. We still did not feel comfortable using it, and it did not appear to be thoroughly drained and cleaned between guests. The game room and kids' areas were also poorly maintained. Games had broken nets, missing pieces, or were falling apart, and some children's chairs were broken and unsafe. Several remotes either didn't work, had dead batteries, or were missing, and promised replacements never arrived. The listing also significantly understates the walk to the beach. It is definitely longer than a two-minute walk and includes a substantial hill--important information for anyone traveling with young children or elderly family members. We were also disappointed by the lack of flexibility with early check-in. Even 30 minutes early would have been helpful, and there did not seem to be a meaningful reason it could not be accommodated. Ultimately, you are paying a premium primarily for the view, but the home itself is not worth the price. It needs better cleaning, maintenance, and basic upkeep. We left feeling that the listing overstated the property and that a major advertised amenity--the hot tub--was unusable. I would strongly recommend saving your money and booking with a private host or smaller rental company that may provide better hospitality and take better care of the property.

This last time they came out, they did the staircase railing crooked it was their mistake and then they had to come out and fix it. Vicente( owner) came out in a horrible mood eating a burrito and ignoring me while I asked him questions because he was late and I had to go to an appointment. I had reminded him that something else was left undone. They were supposed to do red oxide on all the pillar tops and left one undone and so now it is rusty. He continued to be rude and act like he didn't know what I was talking about however, I speak three languages so it's kind of hard not to know what I'm talking about. For all of this and a few more things they charged $6500 which is highway robbery. Not to mention that they left nails all over my driveway which they had done the first time as well. I will take pictures of everything below. Lastly, and worst, I believe that they did open up a private box in my storage because it was turned around and boxes don't just turn themselves. That was the worst abuse. This was really private stuff that nobody was supposed to look at. I had plastic covering all over it. We all have those things and we have a right and nobody should touch our things. In the time that they came here, I treated them very respectfully. I speak three languages and conducted my business in the second language, not my native tongue. When their microwave wasn't working or they forgot to bring it which some people won't even allow you to use that, I invited them into my home and let them use my kitchen and my microwave. They left napkins with hot sauce all over my property that I had to pick up every time and I didn't even say anything about it. Instead, I politely set up a table for them to eat at and tried to create a trash bag for them. All in all being ripped off, treated rudely and disrespectfully by Vicente and having my work finished improperly is enough for me never to want to come back and I feel right telling other people To add one last caveat, there's an older woman that lives onThree Rocks Rd. who has a neck brace I don't want to give her her name. She told me NEVER to use them. She said she spent $40,000 on work and got rats in her house because they left holes in the walls. This cannot be completely substantiated, but I was nervous using them the second time after I heard her story and now I'm just grateful to get through without too much damage , just being ripped off. I told her she should leave a review. Please be careful if you use this company, if you do It's good to have a nice strong husband to guide you because you may get ripped off or abused if you are a woman by yourself or elderly. Of course this is just my experience, but there are others out there who just don't report it like the elderly lady on Three Rocks Rd. and that's the unfortunate thing.

Two side of our house needed siding replaced due to construction flaws and water intrusion. We chose SFW Construction based on their Angies List recommendations. The workers were very skilled, they knew exactly what they needed to do, explained everything to us every step of the way. This is painful work for a homeowner: it is slow, noisy, invasive, and very very expensive. It took over three weeks to do two sides of our tall skinny house, and we spent about 10% of the purchase price of the house on the repairs. Painful, as I said. Very happy with the work and the people who did the work. 5 stars for that. I took one star off because they recommended SFW Painting to paint our house, and if you read my review of that company, doubt may creep into your mind as to whether you should do business with SFW. I can say that SFW Construction did a good job, and they were very good people to work with.

The work required took 2 days longer than I expected, though they had made no commitments.. Each day, the contractors communicated with me very thoroughly, but couldn't give me an estimate as to how much time (and therefore expense) would still be needed. A lien notice was sent less than a month after the work was done, with no follow up from the administrative office. The work was well done, the customer service awful.

When I called to get an estimate, they showed up on time and we were the only ones to provide a detailed drawing of how the railing system would lay out. When we scheduled the install, I had to postpone it a few times due to my own conflicts, and Jeffrey didn't bat an eye. He accommodated me each time and was super nice about moving the dates. The crew that installed the rails were excellent, and didn't complain about working in the cold. Darren, the lead installer, talked through the process and even eliminated two large posts for a cleaner look. This ended up saving me a few hundred dollars. Finally, when a few cables loosened, they came out within a few days to re-tighten everything. Best of all, their pricing was not only fair, but even less than the other quotes I got. As a result, we are extremely pleased with how things turned out. If you need new aluminum railings, you'd be crazy to go with anyone else.
