Barrelhead have a great selection and prices that are actually better than Home Depot. Also, the expertise of the staff is second to none!

The bathroom had the most awful, early 80's, peach colored shower enclosure, I could not live with - and the counter was much too short. The backyard had a large lawn and a small deck - it was crying out for a more useful space for entertaining. My street generates a lot of traffic noise and I needed something to help reduce it. I also wanted an attractive trash/recycling bin deck, close to the street, for convenience. I looked for reviews and Emerald Valley Home Repair popped up. I like licenses and BBB ratings - Ted has them. He was professional in his walk through and intelligent, creative and confident with his advice and ideas - that he quickly put me to ease with his clear rapport I chose Ted Colee. My new larger kitchen space includes my necessary dishwasher and a couple new cabinets and sparkles with quartz counter tops throughout. He also replaced the lighting. The bathroom shower panels were removed and replaced with new bright white tiles. The deck steps down to a circular stone patio that allows for more entertaining and several large potted plants. I worked with Ted on ideas for the front driveway and we came up with a spectacular walled in - shingled and planter deck. It looks fantastic and provides more privacy in my front yard and most importantly, has reduced the road noise. The shingled trash/recycling/green-waste bin deck has a drop down ramp gate: So convenient! This was a series of jobs that effectively have turned this house into my home. Knowledge, skill, dependability, trust and respect are all vital in building that working relationship and creativity and flexibility complete the package. Bonuses are his abundant experience - Ted even knows plants. I have worked with Ted since and highly recommend him!!

They did a roof job for me and now I am hiring them to do my floors in my house. Super nice guys, long time Oregonians, they are locals, so they know all the best places for construction supplies. Ted used to do architectural landscape, so he is ideal for outdoor projects. I shouldn't tell you how great he is, because he will get booked so much I won't be able to get him myself. 5 stars!

I had to remake a whole entire bed in one of the rooms because it was covered in animal hair so there was no double check or cleanliness check. I don't think in that room. It was totally obvious as soon as I started to rearrange the pillows on the bed I noticed all the dog hair all over and I had to rewash my sheets. They did bring sheets to us later, but still that's not what I wanted to do as soon as I already paid a $30 fee to get us in one hour earlier, which I've never really heard of and if you rent Airbnb from him, mom and Pop, then I don't think that they would've done that either. It's all about money to corporation so if you want to not experience a personal stay, do not stay with Meredith lodging

After booking, we were informed of a strict 10:00 PM hot tub curfew that was not clearly disclosed in the listing prior to payment. When we reached out for clarification, the response from the host was dismissive and unwilling to work toward any reasonable compromise or resolution. To be clear, our family was not looking to host parties or be disruptive. We simply wanted to enjoy the hot tub quietly after spending the day caring for toddlers and family activities. Responsible adults should not automatically be treated as if they are going to create problems. What made the experience even more frustrating was the inconsistent explanation provided afterward. We were told the hot tub was for "day use only," yet nowhere in the listing did it clearly define specific usage hours before booking. Had these restrictions been clearly and transparently disclosed upfront, we would have chosen a different property that better fit our family's needs. Customer service and clear communication matter, especially when families are spending significant money on accommodations. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling misled and disappointed.

Horizon West Remodeling - Rotted out wood that was supposed to be taken out. Every small pillar was supposed to be a new piece of wood. They snuck this in.

Be very careful using this company it can be hit or miss and when it's miss, it's really bad!!…read moreThe first time they came out, they did siding and the job was good however very, very expensive. This last time they came out, they did the staircase railing crooked it was their mistake and then they had to come out and fix it. Vicente( owner) came out in a horrible mood eating a burrito and ignoring me while I asked him questions because he was late and I had to go to an appointment. I had reminded him that something else was left undone. They were supposed to do red oxide on all the pillar tops and left one undone and so now it is rusty. He continued to be rude and act like he didn't know what I was talking about however, I speak three languages so it's kind of hard not to know what I'm talking about. For all of this and a few more things they charged $6500 which is highway robbery. Not to mention that they left nails all over my driveway which they had done the first time as well. I will take pictures of everything below. Lastly, and worst, I believe that they did open up a private box in my storage because it was turned around and boxes don't just turn themselves. That was the worst abuse. This was really private stuff that nobody was supposed to look at. I had plastic covering all over it. We all have those things and we have a right and nobody should touch our things. In the time that they came here, I treated them very respectfully. I speak three languages and conducted my business in the second language, not my native tongue. When their microwave wasn't working or they forgot to bring it which some people won't even allow you to use that, I invited them into my home and let them use my kitchen and my microwave. They left napkins with hot sauce all over my property that I had to pick up every time and I didn't even say anything about it. Instead, I politely set up a table for them to eat at and tried to create a trash bag for them. All in all being ripped off, treated rudely and disrespectfully by Vicente and having my work finished improperly is enough for me never to want to come back and I feel right telling other people To add one last caveat, there's an older woman that lives onThree Rocks Rd. who has a neck brace I don't want to give her her name. She told me NEVER to use them. She said she spent $40,000 on work and got rats in her house because they left holes in the walls. This cannot be completely substantiated, but I was nervous using them the second time after I heard her story and now I'm just grateful to get through without too much damage , just being ripped off. I told her she should leave a review. Please be careful if you use this company, if you do It's good to have a nice strong husband to guide you because you may get ripped off or abused if you are a woman by yourself or elderly. Of course this is just my experience, but there are others out there who just don't report it like the elderly lady on Three Rocks Rd. and that's the unfortunate thing.

Two side of our house needed siding replaced due to construction flaws and water intrusion. We chose SFW Construction based on their Angies List recommendations. The workers were very skilled, they knew exactly what they needed to do, explained everything to us every step of the way. This is painful work for a homeowner: it is slow, noisy, invasive, and very very expensive. It took over three weeks to do two sides of our tall skinny house, and we spent about 10% of the purchase price of the house on the repairs. Painful, as I said. Very happy with the work and the people who did the work. 5 stars for that. I took one star off because they recommended SFW Painting to paint our house, and if you read my review of that company, doubt may creep into your mind as to whether you should do business with SFW. I can say that SFW Construction did a good job, and they were very good people to work with.

I contacted SFW Company, which sent a representative who proposed accessing the area via the roof using boards already in place from the roofing crew. He and I spoke directly with the roofers and asked them to leave those boards in place for that purpose. I agreed to that plan. The next day, that approach was changed on-site by a supervisor without prior discussion. This raises a basic question: why send someone to evaluate the job who does not have the authority or knowledge to accurately define the work plan and access? Instead, three workers (billed at $125/hour each) spent essentially the entire day setting up two ladders with a plank between them, including fastening into my newly installed shingles. The total came to $3,000 for the day just for the labor, with very limited actual repair work completed (partial shingle removal on one dormer). The company also charges for worker break times, stating in writing that their 2 breaks must be paid by home owner due to "Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)." As a homeowner, I found this unusual--I have not previously been billed for contractor break time. Additionally, while lead paint procedures were initiated (notice on the home entry and paperwork), the containment method discussed was not implemented. Overall, this hourly model--combined with a last-minute change in approach--while lucrative for SFW is not economical for the homeowner and does not incentivize efficiency. Spending a full day on ladder setup with minimal progress was difficult to justify. I discontinued the project after the first day (additional $1781.25 charged to remove the set up!--3 men at $125 per hour ($375 per hour) adds up quickly).
