When questioned she says the guys were there for five hours. I was surprised to hear that because we were present and they were NOT there for 5 hours. Here nor there. We paid the bill. That same day our ladder went missing , I simply said could you ask the guys if they might have picked it up our ladder by accident. She informed me that the guys were offended that we would accuse them of steeling our ladder. NOT what I said at all. Goodness. I received two estimates for a wood fireplace insert. I was clear in what I wanted and didn't want. When I went to accept one of the bids the total amount of the work order was increased by $400. With no note of explanation. They added back the liner I made clear we did not need to replace. When I questioned Robin about anything, she became defensive. I didn't need to replace the liner in my chimney as the one I have is stainless steel and didn't need to be replaced. She says well are you a professional installer! Very condescending. NOT the point. They were insistent on charging for a new liner. She wanted to make sure I understood if they came out and the liner had to be replaced we would know the cost. Ok that is fair why add it back to the work order without telling me and then become defensive. When I questioned the increase of cost. She then went on to say , I also questioned the chimney top. Well yes I did as it doubled in price from estimate. I have never dealt with a company so unprofessional. What ever happened to professionalism in retail. I felt I had a right to question what I didn't understand. Absolutely will not recommend this company. I want consistent, honest feedback not defensive interaction. This the additional

The house in question is Victorian style, 2 1/2 stories tall, with numerous gables, dormers, a turret with curves, and an octagon shaped porch. It was covered with the original shakes, and needed plywood installed before the new roof went down. This is to emphasize the scope and complexity of the job. There was a 4 day window of good weather. The contractor showed up Monday AM with about 6 vehicles, including 2 or 3 support rigs that held porta-jon and cleanup tools, another just for ladders and rigging, etc. Very organized and professional. 13 workers to start with. Each day's progress was nothing short of amazing. No one ever slacked off, yet morale seemed high. The jobsite was cleaned each evening. They were completely finished by noon Thursday, just barely beating the rain. The finished work looks very good. I was made aware of the cost by my neighbor. Judging be the size, scope, and difficulty of the job, and the speed of completion and quality of work done, I'd say it was a very reasonable price. Everyone in the neighborhood has commented on how impressed they were with this company's work.

We had a great floor buying experience with Fjelland floors. We contacted Ryan at Fjelland about…read moreour ridiculously squeaky floors. He came out, assessed the situation, provided good advice and options on how to proceed. His assessment was that prior moisture issues in our crawlspace had lead to a very squeaky sub-floor which required removal of the existing laminate flooring and re-securing the sub-floor with screws. We discussed the pluses and minus of new flooring options and decided to go with a solid hardwood hickory floor. We chose to remove all the baseboards and existing flooring ourselves which saved some money. The installation crew (Frank, Frank Jr., and Martin) spent a week re-securing the subfloor, and installing the new hardwood floor and reinstalling the baseboards. From end to end the whole process was very professionally handled. Communication with Ryan and the office staff was clear, helpful, and informative, and I can't say enough about the install crew. They were there early every day until the job was done and they were meticulous in their craftsmanship. All-in-all a job very well done. We're very happy with the result and NO MORE SQUEAKING FLOORS!

From start to finish, a stellar experience with Fjelland Floors…read more One thing we hadn't really taken a close look at when we bought our house was the condition of our carpeting. We wish we had -- before we moved in -- because it really needed replacement. There were areas of heavy wear, stains of unknown origin left by the previous owners, and it was really in pretty sorry shape. Finally acknowledging that we really DID need to get new carpet, we started shopping around. We checked out the big box stores. We checked out the other local outlets. And after getting some quotes, we decided on Fjelland Floors. Turns out we did it right. The first thing you notice when you walk into their showroom (if you're lucky) is Walter. He's the Official Shop Dog. He's sweet and well, professional. As in a Professional Shop Dog. He's really sweet! And then we met the humans who run Fjelland Floors. Burke and Ryan were professional and very knowledgeable, making our carpet selection an easy process. We knew when the materials would arrive, when the installation would take place, and communication throughout was good. And I want to add a big 10-Star review for the gentlemen who installed our new carpet. Rich and Richard were on time. They were professional and attentive to all those pesky details. They were clean in their habits, easy to communicate with and a pleasure to have doing the work. They not only installed our new carpet BEAUTIFULLY, they made sure to clean up after themselves. They are people who care about the quality of the job they did; they double-checked themselves to make sure they didn't miss a detail. I'd hire these two gentlemen again without hesitation. All in all, a wonderful thing. Our new carpet is plush and beautiful. We feel like instead of walking a tack strip at the transitions from carpet to hardwood, we're walking on clouds. We're very happy with the materials, the installation, and the overall service we received. Thank You, Fjelland Floors!
