I called Anthony for a small "move after the move." For 7 months I lived with both the previous tenant's furniture plus my own (all crammed in together). I asked him for 4 hours' help moving the old furniture out of my apartment and distributing the pile of my own furniture to each room where it belonged. Our agreement with D and C movers was for 2 men, 2 hours, cost of $200. It took longer than expected, and we agreed to pay another $100 for an additional hour. At the end of the 3 hours, we were charged an additional $400 by D and C for loading two sleeper sofas and a hutch. The total amount due came to $700. The additional $400 charge was unexpected and seemed excessive, especially since I found no mention of extra charges for "overweight" items on their website. We would have looked elsewhere had we known we would be charged more than double the agreed upon price. I do not recommend using D and C Movers. read more

Moving can be such a stressful time and especially a move across country...but NOT for us!!! We have used D & C Movers for years on smaller projects and appreciated the care and respect they offered to us and our belongings, so they were the obvious choice for the big move. We hired Anthony and Nathan to drive our things from the Oregon Coast to Missouri. They got stuck in their trucks during a horrible blizzard for 17 hours on the highway and had to be pulled out by the National Guard. They kept us updated the whole time. While we were worried about them, they were worried about their delivery. Once they finally arrived at our home, they didn't bat an eye at unloading the two fully loaded trucks the next morning and all day long! Talk about dedication to their job! The same care and respect they showed on previous moves was second only to this experience. Our items were carefully wrapped and secured making this a moving experience we can't quit talking about. D & C Movers are exceptional. Very quick to unload. Extra helpful. By the end of the day they were friends. We moved from San Diego with a mover who contracted every move out to another mover. We lucked out when we got D & C Movers in Lincoln City, OR. I cannot praise them enough. They even moved in a pool table. Best moving company we've ever worked with - Anthony called us back immediately with a quote, worked around our changing schedule (we had to reschedule and he was very accommodating, polite, professional), and followed up with a confirmation call a few days prior, which eased our minds. And on moving day - wow! Anthony and Nathan showed up on time (even a few minutes early which is A-OK on moving day!), and quickly moved all of our belongings up and down multiple flights of stairs, in the pouring rain, with very cheerful and friendly attitudes. Icing on the cake? They moved a heavy piece of equipment for us, requested by us at the last moment. This was not part of our original move, but we asked if they had the time. AND, they washed the mud off of it so it wouldn't track in the house. Now that's customer service. We had a successful moving day, thanks to Anthony and Nathan.
