The fitting is expert and checked by a senior member of staff as well as the original assistant and they offer a range of shoe makes, not just Clarks but Stride-Rite, Lelli Kelly, Geox, Cica, Crocs, Ecco and Skechers to name but a few. It's not a cheap shop but the quality and range of both child and adult footwear is good and the customer service excellent.

For that you get a ticket from a machine on the wall and wait your turn for an attendant. At busy periods you can wait 20 minutes or more. The staff turnover seems to be high as you rarely seem the same person more than twice but they are friendly and uncondescending to children. The fitting service is fine though I always seem to find they only have one or two choices in my children's size, possibly my children have odd feet. They do always try to sell you special shoe polish/protecter which annoys me but that's a store wide policy not a problem with this particular branch. Good range of adult shoes that are comfortable and mostly hard wearing. They seem to have branched out a bit lately and started to stock 'fashion' shoes rather than just traditional 'sensible' shoes. This isn't a cheap shoe shop though there are often good bargains to be had when there's a sale on. Beware, it's frenzied at sale time!

I would recommend looking at sale times as thats when there is bargains to be had, generally they have sale stuff all the time but the best sales are in January. They always try and sell u their store card, do not take it as it has an appalling APR, better off with a decent credit card. Their underwear section could do with a bit more range, most of the stuff is very unsexy and they do not have a good range of bra sizes. They could do with updating that area.

I'm 6ft which is tall for a girl and wear size 9/10 shoes. Evans clothes seem to fit me really well and they hang better than lots of other places. They are the only ladies shoe shop that goes up to a size 10, which is handy for me as it depends on the style as to which size I need. The clothes and shoes can be on the pricey side, but they are good quality and last for a long time, so definitely good value for money!

(As of October 2022) The mall offers free parking as well as having good public transportation links, it is around a 20-25 minute bus journey from Newcastle city centre, with an irregular train service, that pulls into the Metrocentre Interchange (attached to the shopping centre), which is even quicker. Anchor tenants include Marks and Spencer, Primark, Next, TK Maxx (featuring Homesense). There is also a large Odeon Cinema. There does tend to be a lack of staff around the mall to ask for help, which is disappointing. There is a good selection of food and drink options, mainly consisting of chains and fast food options, that have multiple outlets around the centre. For example, Costa and Starbucks have three stores, and Nando's have two. 4* - It may not be the prettiest mall in the world, with the centre surely showing its' age in the older parts of the mall, as it opened back in 1986, but it has a great selection of shops, in an indoor environment, well suited to a rainy, cold day.
